I have an Android desire Froyo 2.2, with radio version 32.41.00.32U_4.08.00.09
Each time I run the cam recorder the device gets stuck.
I understand that I need to upgrade my radio rom.
To which version should I upgrade?
Where do I get it?
What is the safest way to do it? I am afraid to get stuck without a working phone...
Have u fixed it yet?

I take it you are rooted? If so, go to the dev forum and find the latest radio listed in the radio thread and flash it using your custom recovery.
Just be careful, remember that radio flashes will have 2 reboots, and it may look like it's stuck or doing nothing. Be patient and let it finish running. Never interrupt a radio flash and all will be well!
hi all
ok so i have downgraded, used radio s off. tool, and done clockwork mod using rom manager from app store. now all i need is a 2.3 rom. (recomended) i downloaded a rom using rom manager but im not getting anywere. what next.. i know im nearly there.. please help... oh titanum is awsum backed up all system and app data..
it says download started in rom manager but nothing downloads.. (coredroid)
been pulling my hair out past 2 nights
It's better if you just choose the rom from this list and download it from the links in their respective threads rather than rom manager. You will have less problems and always get the newest update. Use this guide to flash.
hi, i got my DHD few weeks ago & couple of days ago i successfully installed ARHD 4.0 beta 4 sense rom on my DHD exactly as the way it has been instructed on the specific thread. everything is running smoothly, good battery life without using any battery saver programs like juicedefender, greenpower.
now i was thinking about trying the ARHD 3.3 rom as it is overclocked to 1.22ghz. how can i install that on my DHD? do i have to downgrade anything? or i can just download the rom & use rom manager to install it?
thnx in advance for the help.
hi al...
sorry cant help, you could start a thread of your own though... sorry but its whats called hijaking... maybe 1 of the mods will say the same..
thanks
so as well as radio s off i need eng s off.. arnt they the same... the guide you put is confusing...
thanks

What's the difference to other methods?
First of all, this is easy. The steps are straightforward, you do not need to tinker with complicated command line stuff. Radio S-OFF is the way these devices are meant to be made S-OFF, it is a safe way. If you use this method, reverting to stock is very easy! Unfortunately without ENG bootloader (my other tool) you cannot use fastboot commands (advanced stuff) and, for example, my Kernel Update Utility. To make a raw comparison, this tool is for everybody including new users and the eng hboot S-OFF version is for enthusiasts. Many experienced users have both, because having both allows supreme flexibility.
I recommend to use Radio S-OFF instead of traditional bootloader ENG S-OFF, because this can be more easily removed and is much much safer!

So no eng s-off and radio s-off aren't the same, but they're as easy to do. Eng s-off isn't necessary so you can decide if you want it or not.
so to be clear
im rooted , recovery installed i have s off using radio..
i dont need eng s off.
i can download and install a rom now.
also in the guide it mentions flashing a radio.. whats this..
thanks
Flashing radio is when you change the "firmware" for the module that handles all the wireless data (mobile network, wifi etc). This is done to improve signal strength and battery life with newer radio version. It isn't necessary either, but if you have poor signal strength and battery life it could help. Here is a guide for the procedure. This is probably the riskiest part to flash (it can brick your phone), but if you do everything exactly as the guide says there should be no problems.
For this you need eng s-off
so no need for radio... just download rom Android Revolution HD - 4G 4.0 beta4.
put on sd card and flash... is that it... oh sorry wat and were is the full wipe zip...
thanks for this.
Flash full wipe before flashing the rom, here's the link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=868720

well ive done it. Android Revolution HD - 4G 4.0 beta4. is now installed.
what are peoples thoughts on this rom.
in titanium would restoring system and app data be dangerous, should it be apps only.
ive downloaded set cpu.. to speed things up..
i must say the extra bits and bobs from the stock rom ie apps page, all apps, frequent apps, and downloaded. is a good idea..
any other ideas which are a must... even a recomended rom.
thanks
p.s can i do s off to s on now...
anyone.. can i do s off now ive flashed
Just keep it s-off as it should be now, no need to change it.

Hi,
I just got my dhd back from repair and they updated it to 2.50.405.2 -.-
Is this downgradable yet to root ? I ****in hate standard roms
Please help..
Thanks
i think versions above 2.37 can't be downgraded yet.
i am waiting for downgrade of 2.42 as well. just wait
I to have 2.50.405.2 after repair.
I found rooted this version
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1155634&highlight=2.50.405.2
But dont know will it help to change ROM.
If some one will find some solution please share it.
gingerbreak 1.2 not working with 2.50
Well, u need clockworkmod to flash it which u need rom manager for. And for rom manager u need root
I think we'll have to wait.. But the 2.37+ downgrade has been in development for about 2 months now.. Taking way to long
Probably waiting to see which bootloaders are unlocked, as promised.
Due out in September.

If u are S-OFF then u can downgrade to 2.36 by using the RUU version then root ur device,
edit:- i´ve done it more than 3times after updating from 2.36 to 2.50 "OTA" (believe me u can)
U can get the 2.36 ruu here:-
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=13381205
So,if i'm novice and i don't have s-off with 2.50 only thing i can do is wait for downgrade?is that right?

I was waiting for this too, and now it seems like we can downgrade and root our devices. What could worst case scenario be, if something went wrong?
Have you ever rooted a device before?
Nn,im freshmani didn't do anything about this..so i need some simple manual how to do it?this link seems complicated for me nowi dont have,root,s-off etc..

Dont worry, in a couple of hours we'll have an updated method and toolkit available to downgrade.

Thank you so much.
Now moving on to flash another rom, and try and figure the whole fing about the radio out..
I successfully downgraded and rooted my desire hd 2.42.415 at last. Thanks a million JSLEnterprises. You are awesome
Trivial Question
I have a trivial question, I am very interested in rooting using this method, however I have recently encountered an issue with my stock rom ever since I did the OTA update to 2.43.611.1 The issue is HTC Sence has stopped unexpectedly window pops up quite often & in talking to telus my provider & HTC them selves, they both say the phone needs to be repaired,
My question since I encountered the problem immediatly upon doing the OTA update should I get it repaired first or just try rooting to see if that fixes it.
Also if possible can I be pointed in the direction of how to return to stock Telus if I end up rooting & the probelm still persists?
My thanks to thoes who have diligently be working & involved in helping others & myself reach root status on higher Build numbers.
Great Work!

The reason you're getting the error after the ota update is the same reason why people get issues after installing custom roms and not wiping their device... the old cache and user data conflicts with the update.
Downgrading and then flashing a custom rom along with flashing an updated radio will remedy the problem. I dont believe you'll want to use the initial radio release, I highly recommend flashing the radio from the 2.52 korean release to your Telus DHD, along with the ril's from that release and replacing the ones in the rom you will flash via cwm recovery. ENG S-OFF is required to flash a new radio or recovery img.
Once you downgrade, you can always return to the stock 2.43.661.1 rom. There is a thread in the Desire HD/Inspire 4G Forum on Driphter.com where I've placed the RUU's of common builds (especially for Telus and AT&T). If returning the device for warranty purposes, you must Radio S-On prior to Installing the stock rom via the RUU. The RUU Itself will set ENG to SHIP, and unroot.
Excellent, Greatly appreciated.
Might try rooting as soon as tonight. Kind of excited to have a functional device again!
I am glad that it worked, i thought OH **** the other day, when i found out that i shouldn't have updated to 2.50, if i was about to root..
Big thanks to you JSL, nice work, and easy tuturial!!
I can see that in /HTC ACE TOOLKIT
is a splash screen changer, and a boot animation changer.. how do i use them?
Cheers guys I will try that downgrade guide. Just a note though. The file fize of the version of HTC Sync for the Desire HD I'm downloading is 66.6MB. I hope that isn't an omen for this to go horrendously wrong

Hello,
as I am not permitted to post into the right forum, I post my problem here. I installed the HTC Android Revolution 6.2.0 today.
I made an SuperWipe, reinstalled my backup but now in my LockScreen there are no icons. I wanted to have the clock on my lockscreen but no matter what I choose it does not change a thing.
Can somebody help me with that?
Thanks,
Martin
You flashed ARHD, then SuperWiped, then restored your backup?
Try wiping again, then flashing ARHD. After that I wouldn't restore a backup, that seems to be the cause.
Hi
Many market apps are saying that they are not compatible with devices as it working good previously presently in 6.2 How to get rid of this issue
Hello guys,
another new member here. So yesterday I rooted my HTC Desire HD for the first time. I used Advance Ace Hack Kit. Then I wiped with SuperWipe and flashed Android Revolution HD 6.2.0 . It works fine, but I failed on this step -
"With 6.2.x ROMs I strongly recommend flashing 12.65.60.29_26.14.04.28_M radio"
When I try to flash the radio using the recommended method, it says - "writing radio failed" . How to solve this and should I actually flash the radio or its fine now?

Yes, same problem. Just download and run this tool -
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=855403 .
It's one click operation. Then the radio flash runs perfectly.

Unless you want them for future use you can get rid of them. Nothing that is system critical runs from your sd card. The Rom installs on the internal memory on your phone.
DOes anyone have the full url for ARHD 6.2 download?
I'm unable to resolve the tiny.cc url for days
I actually just rooted my HTC Desire HD for the first time last night, too. I used the Android Ace Hack Kit, and now I loaded on ARHD. So far so good. But I am wondering why the extra step is required to update the radio? I see it's "strongly recommended", but is that for people who already are using some other radio?
I kind of don't want to follow the steps because you have to install something called Visionary, but that site makes it seem like an outdated program. Do I need to do this radio?
SD problem

After you have rooted your DHD with android ace hack kit, you don't need to use Visionary anymore, coz it's rooted. U must Radio S-off before able to flash new Radio. To do this, please use one click radio-S off, which u could find it in the forum. BTW, you only root your phone using hack kit, and have ONLY Eng S-off, NOT radio S-off. After you have done this, you just need to flash new radio in recovery mode. That's it, all done! Enjoy!!!
Thanks for the replies guys. I went ahead and updated the radio. I even then tried to update the battery icon at the top to show the percentage, but that sent my device into a boot loop. I was able to restore, so I'm okay. I guess I'll wait and see how the phone works this week.

Hi, your battery icon show on left-side or right-side?
Or is AR 6.2 by default is showing percentage on right-side?
Anyone can share the snapshot on the HOME page of AR 6.2?
Appreciate that.
Hello,
We all know an update for the wfs came out a few days ago, containing an radio update, but since I dont want to re-flash my recovery back to the stock one, I decided to ask here to see if anybody has the radio update 'standalone'.
so, does anybody have the radio update that can be installed using hboot without the other files?
Regards, HalfDead.
