So, as you all probably know by now, the Google Wallet Prepaid Cards will expire come October. I need to know what to spend 10 bucks on lol. Not too many places arround me have NFC terminals except like Circle K or something. So anything useful from the market or accessories online?
The NFC works with those things that say "paypass"

7 Eleven and Cumberland farms uses NFC and from what I heard Mobile is as well.
If so, can I copy the code from a certain tag and have my device replace the tag?
Here is what I mean:
Let's say I am in a hotel where they use cards with NFC to unlock the doors. Can I use a special software to copy the code found in the NFC tag inside the card and then have my phone "project" that code with it's NFC capabilities? The result: Unlocking the hotel door with my phone.
I am generally speaking.
Thanks,
Oren
Think there's an app for that.

And that app might be...?
There seems no APIs for notifying detection of external RF field to apps. So, probably it's impossible.

I don't know what exactly you want to do,but this URL should put you on the right track not to mention it works great.DL Check out Samsung ezon door locks, they use NFC and the link below is Samsung's way of letting you clone the code to your phone so it can be used instead. Works over RFID, now remember say a work card or hotel as you said. Well unless the hotel happened to have 0 security for encrypting or shielding there RFID unlock code in this case, similar to the defcon hack. Then it would not be as easy to implement. So yes it can be done providing you have access to the master key in effect or there isn't any security. Things such as gwallett as everyone knows uses the secure element in our phones to keep someone from getting someone elses wallet info.

Is there any way to get this through root or custom ROM?
AFAIK no. You need the special SIMs just so you can use ISIS. Google doesn't show much love outside of Nexus I don't think. I say give it a few months and we may get official ISIS. Until then Dollar Generals and Home Depots accept Pay Pal (card less and phone less). And Square Wallet is accepted at a few places (card less).
IMO NFC payments are like 3D movies and motionflow TVs. Novel but not widely accepted.

You are correct, Google wallet and Tmobile's isis requires a secure element to which is not installed on the gs2. Tmobile has it is live in Dallas of i am not mistaken but requires a special SIM card.

NFC payment systems are currently much more cumbersome than a basic credit card. I don't see them taking off.

I dunno about all that, recently I was at a 7-11 and I had my nexus 7 with me which has goggle wallet installed. I made the transaction with no issue, in fact it was really easy and I wish that their has pumps where like that so that way all I would need is my tablet which I have with me all the time anyways. The biggest headache is finding places that would accept that form of payment and not looking like a douche... For the most part unless the NFC payment does not support one of the major credit card vendors then it would pose an issue but I would assume that they do so it shouldn't be an issue

is there any known apps that can essentially clone an entire NFC card, just wondering because i keep losing my Transit cards which are MiFare Classic 1K and would like to have the ability to clone my card and use my One XL to rebroadcast the Cloned data

No, you will need the keys to the embedded secure element. Or ask google wallet to implement it, what they will not do
Ask your public trasportation company to offer that. The French contractor of an overground tube here in my city offers nfc cards while the bus company offers the pay per sms way. Putting them together I'd have a rechargeble nfc app for all public means.

Verizon made Isis Mobile wallet available nation wide today and it supports all the newer android phones except the one. Even the dna works. Any ideas why the one was excluded and can it be hacked in at all?

Must be the Secure Element SIM card that's required. Apparently, there's not one for Verizon. Fail.

What? The if the SE is in the SIM how can there not be one?
Isis DOES (DID) work on the One. I had it working a couple months ago, totally stock.
But apparently they updated it and it took compatibility away from the One. So now it doesn't work.
Not sure why they would do that...stupid stupid stupid.
Sent from my HTC6500LVW using Tapatalk
you shouldnt use ISIS out of principle.
google wallet should work, no?
How can one tell if they have an se sim? I have one that came with my One and it looks different from the one that came with my S3.

I do not believe there is a way to tell. When I ordered my s4, I asked them for the NFC Sim because the customer rep said that i would need it for my wireless charging (I wasnt going to tell him otherwise!) And it looks the same as the other sims Ive had in the past. Since having the HTC One, Ive used the sim and it looks the same as the one that technically came with the phone
Here's an image from Google.

Anyway since we have 2 methods of getting Google wallet working there is no reason to use Isis in the first place.

There's not one. Verizon doesn't provide one for the One, AFAIK.
My SIM looks a lot like the NFC SIM in the picture.

HTC One does come with NFC sim. At least mine did. (see attached picture) Plus, Isis was working for me when I first got my One, then all of a sudden it wasn't compatible. Very weird. I mean, it's not like I'm missing much, the only isis places around me are Coke machines... hah
For everyone having issues with ISIS and haven't seen already, you can now get Google wallet working with tap and pay which is a much better app anyway.

Weird...I have 4 phones on my Verizon account, 3 Galaxy S4, 1 HTC One. On two of the Galaxy phones, there's an option on my device manager page to order the NFC Secure SIM. There's no such option for the One. This seems to be consistent with what I'd read elsewhere on XDA, but if that's really a secure element SIM, then cool. I think I'll contact Verizon to see what's up.
Meanwhile, Google Wallet is working great for me. :good:

How are you getting tap to pay working? I have a SE sim card but google wallet isn't saying anything about tap to pay. Also NFC is turned on as well

Do it exactly according to the instructions. Worked for me. I've used it at Whataburger and Academy just fine.

Update:
According to this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=46926490&postcount=29 - there is an NFC Sim Card, and I checked mine - I have one. So...cool.
Now - why can't I use ISIS? I can't even download the app from the Play Store.

Thanks! I guess I should have searched a little before asking
Hmm...Google Wallet tap and pay works fine for me on the One. I too was told without the secure element it would never work. I guess my SIM supports the secure element as I use Wallet almost everyday. Of course, I'm not stock
So according to all the blogs, the small update the VZW One got was supposed to enable Isis support.
I updated, but Isis still says my phone is not compatible...
