Shatterproof screen protector. - Xperia Play Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Does anybody know of a video demonstrating it being removed or can somebody make a video of them removing their one? I need reassurance before I try to remove mine as it's a right scratch magnet.

I removed mine

There should be no way of screwing up if that's what you're worried about. I usually mess up everything I do, but the screen protector came off fine. Just start picking at a corner of the screen, right at the very edge (I couldn't even see the edge of the cover, but after picking at it, it came off quickly)

I took a pin and carefully picked up a corner starting from where the buttons meet the screen. If you look closely you can see the "screen protector"

Easy way to fix screen scratches?

I am not talking about deep scratches. I had a scratch on my screen, even that I am extremely careful with my phone, I never place it with keys or any other objects. Still I got a long scratch on the screen which I can't see except in a certain angle with sunlight. I can't see it at night even when all the lights of the room are on. The scratch isn't deep and it's very tiny as hair, I can't even feel it while rubbing my fingers over it. I was wondering is there an easy way to fix this tiny scratch, a way which doesn't involve sanding or anything dangerous which may make my screen only worst if not done perfectly?
I have the exact same scratch. Because of it, could not return my phone.
It's wired though. I am extremely careful with my phone.
I would really appreciate it if people would share with us their experience in fixing screen scratches.
Sometimes if its very very light, then a screen protector may hide it, probably could try something similar to a Zagg one rather than a stiff plastic type.
But I still know it's there. You know whar I mean, when you love your phone you don't want to hide scratches but you want to fix them.
Will polishing the screen work?

Why don't you try Displex scratch remover? But be careful not to rub it too hard.. What it does is that it levels the surface by grinding the surrounding surface area and filling the scratches. The more you do, you will end up removing the Oleophobic coating! So you will have to do it with less pressure till the scratch disappears.. Once done, make sure that you put a screen protector..
Those hair line like scratches are unavoidable. I can very well understand what you are talking about. I had the same experience with the iPhone 4S and the HTC Sensation. Those scratches are not visible in sun light but under specific yellow lights.. You can't feel them or do they affect the clarity.. But it bother's us Thats when I learnt to put a screen protector the moment I buy a new phone
THIS is what Im talking about!
I used a CD restoring kit before. Not sure how well that would work on Gorilla Glass thought.
Does anyone see black boxes on the screen in light when the screen is turned off. I see lots of black boxes together all over the screen?

it's disturbing the amount of people with scratches and broken screens. i dropped a phone with gorilla glass 1 a few times with no bad results and watched videos of keys trying to scratch it that couldn't. something isn't right here.

Wet screen protector question

I have two questions about the screen protector I put on just now. I know these things are supposed to look bad when you first apply them, but does this look normal? It just feels that I should have a cleaner appearance on the screen. And if it isn't right or it's bad is there anything I can do?
Also, unrelated but I figure I might as well ask now: when I updated to 4.0.4, on the calendar widget next to my events a black square is to the left of each event. What is this for? I can't figure it out and I tried searching. Maybe I'm not describing it right? I don't know. But it's bugging me.
Looks like you used too much soapy solution.
In any event, it'll dry up within a day or two. Make sure you do your best to squeegee out any excess solution. As it dries, apply some pressure to some problem areas so that it adheres to the glass.
Post another pic tomorrow
You're actually not to push out the bubbles or any part of it. They will dry out, just give it time.

Yeah, that's very much normal. As jpg says, probably just more soap than strictly necessary, but trust me when I say it'll dry clear. It may take several days to completely dry out, but don't panic and try to start rubbing the bubbles out -- it'll just leave stretch marks on the material (trust me, I've done this. ).
Looks normal for a newly installed wet protector. As mentioned above, that's too much solution. Don't worry about that and don't squeeze the solution left under the skin out. Leave it as it is

Okay I feel a lot better after reading that. Haha being my first wet protector and being such an expensive phone, I was concerned. But I'm glad it should be normal. I can't wait to see it when its all dry and set.
Way too many bubbles. You should use more solution, and spray solution on the outside as well + your fingers + the squeegee. Spray the piss out of it and squeegee the solution out from under the screen. It should look almost 100% when you're done with maybe some minor micro-bubbles that go away after a day or two.

afaik the square color on the side of the event is the color of the calendar that event belongs too.
Aka if you have multiple calendars like "school" (red) "work" (green) and "travel" (blue), the box would indicate which calendar the event is part of via the square color.
Your screen looks weird, I have Armor Suit screen protector. It was a wet application. This is the final product after 2 monthes, but I'm sure my screen wasn't like this when I applied it. These are my screen pictures, as you can see, looks clean.
Watch out for the orange peel effect, I got it and instead put on a dry install screen protector instead. It was driving me nuts.

Did you squeege the screen at all?

Screen protector application trick

Just saw this over at LifeHacker. Basically, align the protector on the device. Next, tape one side onto the device. Then, raise the protector and lift the back off. It should, in theory, lay back down perfectly aligned.

P.S.: Thanks, zmore for the embed tip.
Risky. It may line up, but it has a higher chance of getting dust under it that way.

Maybe, but you could easily spot-remove with tape or wipe it down and keep the alignment perfect.
Install it in the bathroom with a hot shower running.. the condensation will knock the dust out of the air. This has always been my screen protector install method and it always works out well. Takes most of the dust risk out of the equation so you can just focus on lining up the protector.

To embed, select only the video ID then click the YouTube button to surround it with tags, so it looks like this: {YOUTUBE}PMPqDwVZzzM{/YOUTUBE}
Cool trick I guess: Tape the protector to the phone as a hinge, wipe once more to remove dust, peel the back off, and apply. Might try that... since I mostly end up with dust due to multiple attempts at getting in on straight.
Thanks for the Embed steps. I'm gonna be trying this out tonight putting an SGP Nano Clear on. I currently have a Zagg HD, but it is still too "orange peely" even after nearly a week. Still a lot better than their standard screens, though. At least it didn't cost me anything (Best Buy gift card).

[Q] s3 glass glitch?

Just wondering if anyone can verify this glitch. My gf was using her s3 on a glass table flat and was trying to use her phone like that without holding it..swiping thru menus and sites..I tried it on my phone and it was doing the exact same thing..it would just not register or swipe correctly..I moved it over to a counter top and my chair and it worked...
Now..is this because of some sensor not being able to work because of the glass? just wondering if anyone has seen this happen before..
Thanks!
Hmmm that's odd. I'm not seeing that issue. Just tried it.

im wondering if its because the table is clear glass and a small frame around the glass? it was being used on the clear part with no frame underneath..so straight shot to the ground...ive tried it over and over and only the glass table has the problem..so strange

Any magnets near the glass table or on the frame of the table?

I also have a clear glass table but no frame. Not sure if it makes a difference.

I've not only noticed this effect on multiple surfaces when I'm not actually holding the phone, but also on other devices, such as my previous Motorola Atrix. Not sure what might be causing it, but I'd have to say it probably has more to do with the type of surface you are sitting/lying on than what surface the phone is on.

Pseudo scuff

I just recently noticed this scuff or mark on my screen. The reason I called it pseudo is because it is only visible when the screen is off and there is a finger smudge on top of it. When i wipe the screen clean with soft cloth the scuff disappears or at least is no longer visible at all. So I'm not even sure it's a scuff...
Has anyone else experienced something like this? Is there anything I can do to remedy it short of replacing the entire screen plate?
Thanks in advance
Put a screen protector on it. Then call it good. Mine got a small minor line on the screen after awhile of having it. But I've put screen protectors on it ever since I notice that small blemish...
And personally I don't see the need to replace a complete screen for something minor.:what:
