[2013-04-22][ROM - CyanogenMod 10.1 - JB 4.2.2 - UNOFFICIAL]

Hey fellas,
I just start to compile a CM10.1 rom for my own use from the source and I wish to share with you guys.
So far so good, seems everything is working fine.
Instructions..
You probably know.. but just in case..
1. Boot to recovery (MANDATORY A TOUCH RECOVERY) - I strongly recommend the sk8erwitskil or TWRP recovery (plenty of useful features)(Respectively): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1844637) or http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1768742
2. Wipe data/factory reset
3. Flash the rom
4. Reboot
5. Flash the GAPPS

6. Reboot and have fun
Attention about to post a bug:
1. Before to post a bug, PLEASE, try to reproduce it at least twice.
2. Make sure that is not related to a bad and dirty flash, you can try to wipe cache and dalvik.
3. Be polite, after all, we are doing this for fun and for the pleasure of share, with no benefits at all.
4. You can contribute here with some debug methodology lol

every rom i flash never boots, just hangs on splash screen for 50 mins plus. i have twrp if that helps,
and done all the need wiping fyi

search for SGH-T989_DARKSIDE.SUPER.WIPE_EXT4.zip , flash it before any rom and it will solve your problem.

Make sure if you use the DS wipes you are on CWM 5.x recovery. They don't work with anything else, but do work great with the right recovery as I use them every flash with no issues ever.

[Q] Question aubout ROM PACman v20.0.1

Hello,
I have a problem, when i take photo, camera force closing?
Sometimes i can make 1 or 2 photos, but then it force closes.
Is there any patch ??

That sounds more like an old dying battery than like a ROM issue.

Did you do a full wipe? how about fix permissions?

Faced the same problem
Hi, looks like i have the same problem.
For me it is reproducing very easily:
I can do whatever amount of photos until i am trying to make a shot of whatever person.
Looks like camera application crashes while trying to detect a face.
It is crashing with an error from Gallery application ...
Do you have any solution on how to fix it ?

Incoming fix ...
The problem supposed to be fixed in PacMan 21.0.0.
The only thing we have to wait is a fix for that new version preventing it from correct boot...

So, the result of my tests. after a fix, no more worries for a week. then update my lancher (apex). I remade a fix permission for other problems.
but the problem came back yesterday. indeed, I feel that when it detects faces. ( application galerie crash).
another idea. one update of the camera?

This problem happened to me, I used Titanium Backup to backup my gallery app then uninstalled it and installed both of the attached apps
dont know if will work for you but It wouldnt help to try

Hi guys, after installing a new version of PacMan (21.0.1) the problem has disappeared for me.

So, not working for me.
When i install PACMAN 21.0.0 or 21.0.1 i have a blue screen or tactil don't work.
So i come back in 20.0.1 !!!
I'm going to test the galery .apk
(no more chance with the APK. same bug)

You have to install 21.0.1
and flash THE FiX just after it. Fix can be downloaded using link in post mentioned above.

Yes i have tested everything !!
So i've decide to install another ROM (Android Open Kang Project) and, for the moment, everything is working !!
i'm going to test it few day and if I have no problem, i close this topic.

Just test to fix permissions in recovery mode.
Or reflash completely your phone (full wipe & reinstall)

and see its a pre alpha version,not even alpha hence wont be good for daily use,,,let the development begin

Yeah, for now I found out there is no way to install something, when you try to install through google play it just freezes (back button unfreezes it), and show nothing.

There is no root access, tried disabling root, enabling and all that but nothing helps.

-It will install the MK3 Rom with all the improvements CNexus busted his ass to bring to us.
(No KNOX, WIFI Fixed, Rotating Screen Working, Rooted, Additional Quick Settings, Hot Spot Fix)
-Will install the MK3 Baseband/MODEM/Radio...
-Will Format the System Partition before installing
-Will Delete Cache and Dalvik-Cache
-Will Install Extended Reboot Menu (For Both Versions as of 12/04)
-WIFI HotSpot Fix Included
-After installing you will have a nice fully operational device
ODEX Version ONLY
-Verifies you have a ROM already installed on your device
-Verifies your device is correct (Sprint variant of the GS3)

Im not a pro on how KNOX works, but my guess is if you can get your device to install a custom ROM, this one will work as well. It does not replace your boot loader how ever. I would suggest steering away from any ROM capable of doing that unless it is a well proven method.
The KNOX remover from other threads was nothing more than a script that removed files from the system partition. These files were not included with this ROM.

from what ive been reading as long as knox is still in the bootloader the rom is okay to flash so if your saying the bootloader still has knox this should work

Unfortunately for me I was one of the few that needed that superuser flashable zip from cnex.
Would I need that here?

You can download the deodexed version from my thread to save you the extra deodexing step if you like, and then just swap the app and framework folders in this rom with those from the deodexed version

Hello all,
There are many questions asked in the development thread of this respective roms(slimkat by xenon92 and cm11.0 by pawitp). I am creating this thread so that all unrelated to bugs topics can be discussed here.
eg: -how to flash the rom
- about not working apps
- about xposed etc etc.

NOTE :
-Some apps will not work in these roms, the reason is that the respective developer has not made it compatible with 4.4.x.
- The rom is not faulty. The dev must compile it using latest sdk(sdk 19) to run on kitkat running phones like ours.

Detailed Guide and some facts
Detailed Guide to Flash CM11.0, Slimkat & Carbon rom :
MAIN STEP:
- First of, to flash both the ROMs we need to be on 4.2.2 firmware(4.2.2 bootloader). Flash the 4.2.2 stock firmware via odin and follow the below guide.
STEP 1:
* Download the ROM and gapps you want to flash and put it in either internal or external sdcard.(you can find them in Original thread which is in 1st post)
STEP 2:
* You need to flash SElinux compatible recovery.

* This is the same way you root.
- Download recovery.
- Select PDA in odin and select recovery.
- Hit start !
STEP 3:
* Press Vol up + Home + Power button(all at once) to go to the recovery.
* Now the Steps to flash the rom :
- Wipe cache partition.
- Wipe data/factory reset.
- Mounts and Storage--> format /system
- (back) advanced--> wipe dalvik cache.
- (back) Install zip from sdcard-->choose zip from sdcard(internal)/extsdcard. WHEREVER YOU HAVE PLACED THE ROM AND GAPPS.

SlimKAt memory issue
In SlimKAT Rom
Out of 4 Gb .... only 1.3 gb is available...
plz tell where is rest of memory...also there is no app 2 sd support...
so plz atleast provide full 4gb...though 8 gb is grand internal memory...
P.S- I flashed slimkat rom on TW 4.2.2 stock... wiped all data and everything...
still got just 1.3gb out of 4 GB

Hello, This happens due to the kernel changes between stock and cm.
If you see in stock there is sdcard and extsdcard. In cm it is under emulated directory.
I also had this problem. I use the below solution
I always
-backup sdcard
-format /sdcard
-upgrade to 4.2.2
-flash cm
Wiping data doesn't always mean wiping internal memory. so you need to go to mounts and storage-->format /sdcard and see if it retains.
else,
you need to
-downgrade
-backup sdcard if you want
-format /sdcard
-upgrade
-flash rom.

Incoming call valum very low,
I am on cm-11 20131214 . when i receive call i cant listen voice clearly due to low volume. I would like to know how to increase volume . I have already tried in setting -volume but it didnt work. even i cannot send any file from sd card with Bluetooth, it dosent show the Bluetooth option in Share Manu. thank you for nice rom.

Art -gapps not working
I dont know weather it is bug or any problem. Gapps dont support the ART, but when i select switch from Delvik to ART it shows "unfortunately gapps stopped working." something like this . kindly give me the solution.

I am not facing this bug for sure, i have been attending calls from morning.
You can backup your apps and try clean installing the latest build(including format system).

hello, cm team is still working on ART to support priv-apps to reduce fcs it is better to use dalvik cache for now as ART is still only stable in nexus 5 and some other low end devices

From previous builds, you don't need to. Just install the zip. The second post already explains this clearly.

First of all thanks @chotu222 for creating this thread ma issue is FONTS i used font installer worked fine but only for the first time and now i updated the rom to the latest build lol dpi default agn and even fonts nt changed any work around to change fonts???

Google now widget doesn't appear
I am on cm11 and there is no google now widget appearing in the widgets menu for the homescreen. Happens with launcher 3 as well as GE. I am able add a widget on my lockscreen.
