Hello
So yesterday I bought the GN.
Untill now since Im coming from the N1 the improvements are worth the money
I havent done anything yet, its pure stock with the bootloader locked and I havent received yet the 4.0.2 update.
I keep the n1 turn on with other phone number
One thing I noticed is that my GN when its on standby sometimes the blue icon turns gray and so I become disconnect from the google servers,
However on my n1 rooted with cyanogen this thing doesnt happen....
So basically I receive first my emails and chat first on the n1 that the GN even when they are connected on the same wifi network.
The thing is that this symptom happens also on my galaxy tab 10.1 with honeycomb 3.2
Basically if I put the 3 devices together, the n1, gn and the tab, the first that receives notifications is the n1
Anyone knows why?
Jesus Im writing this from the gn in landscape mode and the keyboard has a laggggg...wtf...
Thanks
Hugo

Hi
I just got my galaxy nexus 3 weeks ago. Everything went well untill 2 days ago.
Randomly and since yesterday permanently, my wifi isn't working properly.
I haven't changed any settings. Our laptop works great on wifi and this is why I tought there would maybe be a problem with my galaxy nexus device.
Under normal circomstances the "wifi bars" are blue. Now they are gray and internet isn't working.
(2 weeks ago I did a switch from yakjuxw to yakju. Everything worked properly)
I provide you with some screenshots of my device.
(As you can see I'm connected to wifi)
What do you reckon the problem could be?
Thanks
(ps: posted this with the laptop connected to wifi right now)
I'm experiencing some strange issues as well. I haven't nailed anything down, but it seems I'm having data problems (both wi-fi and vzw data) when I'm in a low signal area (my house) around -100dbm. Phone and text seem to work fine, but it's a little strange that the wi-fi would drop out too. During this time my wi-fi and signal meter are gray. If I restart the phone, everything seems to work again. The last restart was 12 hours ago and the signal is still "blue" now, but I know at some point it will "gray out" again. I do not experience this problem at work, and both wi-fi and signal meters are blue.
This is kind of a big deal for me because I rely on my phone for email notifications and I come to find after the fact I have several emails and never received the notifications on my phone.
Looking around the web, it seems others are experiencing various signal issues as well, but no one has any solutions and I'm not even sure if the issues I've seen are related.
Yes very strange indeed. I tried turning my phone off and on again but the wifi signal meter is stil gray.
I remember my brother buying a HTC sensation last week. He had a gray wifi signal meter from the beginning. Luckely he could attach his HTC to the pc and download updates wich fixed the wifi signal problem.
No updates for us yet. I wonder if they will fix this in 4.0.3 and if they even know about this issue...
I'm now at another place with wifi acces and it seems to work Here... maybe it is a compatibility problem with the router? I bet that when I go back to my place the wifi signal meter Will be gray again...
How to make it work properly?

My wifi goes to sleep every time the phone goes to sleep, despite having it set to always on. Also signal is poor. Where my iPhone 4 has full or 4 out of 5 bars, the GNex only has 1 or 2 bars.
I´m having these problems too... my other devices work fine everywhere in my house, but gnex doesn´t... it gets a very bad signal. I´m on 4.0.1 (OTA update hasn´t arrived to my phone yet... whyyyy!?).

You might have a yakjuxw or other yakju-- built instead of a yakju? I THINK (not sure) that they receive updates slower. I think they go via samsung or other carries.
Anyway I'm now at 4.0.2 and tbh I much more prefer 4.0.1. Since i got to 4.0.2 my phone seems a bit slower.
All of a sudden my gray wifi signal meter turned blue (after 2 days being gray). I can now even connect to ANOTHER network that I was never able to connect too ...
I think this problem is very much related to the phone/phone's software. I didn't change any settings nor apps...
I own both a Galaxy Nexus (4.0.2) and a Nexus S (4.0.3).
However, both seem to deal with ICS in different ways.
I use the GN as my main phone but occasionally swap to the NS
Anyway, I am getting intermittent signal with the GN even in the middle of Manchester which I know has strong signal i.e. if I remove the phone from my pocket it will take an age for the grey signal bars to turn blue. I am unable to call out during this time. I am also getting people thinking I am engaged when the phone is right next to me at work and when I check, the signal seems fine and is blue.
Finally, I do not get any Facebook notifications or indeed Kik notifications until I actually go into the apps themselves. The apps have notifications turned on.
However, I get full Facebook and Kik notifications on the Nexus S using the same sim card or even if I have wifi enabled.
Why would both phones running ICS be so different? Are the OS versions 4.0.2 and 4.0.3 going to make that much of a difference or could there be a bigger problem with my GN?
Thanks
For Facebook notifications, it will only notify you on one handset at a time. (I just learned this over the past week before I sold my GS2.) Clear out your data on the Nexus S if you want the notifications on the Galaxy Nexus or vice versa. As for the rest, umm, well I don't know. Lol.
I should clarify actually... You will need to clear out data on BOTH devices. Then input the information on the one you want the notifications on. Sorry.
Thanks Jonathan
I suppose that makes sense actually.
I'll sign out of FB and perhaps delete Kik from the NS, although it only allows you to be logged in at any one time. I have emailed the developer but as of yet I have hear nothing.
I'll see how I get on tomorrow. Cheers
All seems to be in order!
Thanks again
Hi everyone, I received the Galaxy Nexus last night from Google Play. Out of the box, I was able to connect to the network (make calls, send texts, etc.). I was charging my phone at night and then I realized that I was no longer connected to the T-Mobile network. The triangle is empty now and I can't do anything on the network anymore. I ran the Jelly Bean 4.1 OS upgrade as soon as we took the phone out of the box. I checked the APN settings and I noticed that it was completely blank but I was unable to successfully add a new one. I can try to create a new one and input all the settings but it doesn't seem like it was saved.
I just took it up with T-Mobile and told them to update my line to this phone, and they assured me that it would work in 2 hours, but I won't be holding my breath. At the same time, I contacted Google and they unfortunately said that they cannot do anything in this case and I would have to take it up with Samsung... I don't really want to do that and I hope that I don't have a faulty device..
Also, I never rooted it and everything is completely stock.
ANY HELP??

hi,
im in the exact same situation phone is perfect on stock rom and all but has an empty triangle with no internet connection being displayed on the notifications bar, i need my phone to work and would love to figure this out please someone help would greatly apprecitae it.
I have the same issue on my international one. It has been decided it has a hardware failure. I have no warranty though. I might buy one with a broken screen and swap. You have a warranty use it.

Same issue here. I had the phone for months (stock ROMs) and was perfectly happy. Few days back, connection dropped at random and the only way to fix it was through a reboot. Then, after 2 or 3 days, no connection whatsoever, it doesn't even "find" the sim card, so it seems as it's no longer asking for my sim pin code.
Tried about everything, even wiping and reflashing every stock ROM and radio I could get my hands on (including 4.2.1, 4.1.2 and 4.0.4), to no avail. I'm about to give up and return it to Samsung for repair. We're not the only ones, that for sure...
I have been experiencing sporadic login failures error messages both in my Gnex and Nexus 7, the message reads that there was a problem communicating with google servers, a couple of friends also have experienced the same. I have not identified when or what is triggering the error.
Is anyone else having this problems? any information?
regards
I've been gotten the notification a few times today. It doesn't show which specific g-app that may be causing it, however clicking the notification appears to alleviate it.

Yes, I also experienced couple of Google login issues since my GNex got the OTA update for 4.2 yesterday.
I've received numerous notifications on both my GNex and N7 today. If I recall, I actually saw the first one last night, on my GNex. But mine don't appear to affect functionality at all, even if i don't clear the notification.
I will add that in the previous two days, my GNex was having problems staying connected to the Google servers (gray signal bars) and that *did* kill sync, but didn't have an accompanying notification. It even killed my data connection altogether a few times, which required either an airplane mode toggle or a reboot. That hasn't happened today though.
Phew! Can't wait for 4.2.1.
I am having this issue as well.
I believe that it started yesterday. But I have been mainly noticing it today.
Anyone know the cause?
I haven't received the upgrade to 4.2 yet
Not running a Nexus (GS2 with SuperNexus ROM, though.... ), but I've been getting this as well. Saw a post from awhile back about logging in and out of Google+ to fix it, but that didn't take. Tried disconnecting and reconnecting my account, but also no bueno. Interestingly, I haven't seen this issue on my N7, today.
Got it a couple hours ago, I think I just clicked the notification and I haven't got it again. The last time this happened was the Google Now outage a month back.
Google must be making some changes to something....................
Having the issue here on my Galaxy Note (1), and but not my Nexus 10 or Sony Google Tv.

Appearing on both Nexus devices (toro 4.1.1) and Xoom on 4.1.2. Happened several times to me today, only once on my wife's Nexus. Maybe they're fixing the package notification in Google Now before black Friday shopping begins.

Same here. I just switched from stock to CM 10 around that time so I was figuring it was residual from flashing over. I'll take that over the constant prompt for the 4.2 OTA I was stuck with though

I'm also having this problem on my Galaxy Nexus. I first noticed it Tuesday night, it happened twice yesterday and once today so far.
I've been getting it on my 4.1 Nexus for the past few days. Calendar shows a sync error on occasion.
I have been getting it as well since yesterday. I got it early today too. My girlfriend has a G2X and she got it as well. It must be something going on with Google servers again-I remember having that kind of issue a couple of months ago-it got fixed within 2-3 days.
"me too"
This has been happening to me to, seems to have started a few days ago- happens multiple times a day. Annoying as hell, BUT, doesn't seem to affect phone functionality, at least as far as I have noticed.
Stock Galaxy Nexus, stock OTA Jelly Bean 4.2. No rooting or other funniness.
For now, I'm going to give it a week and hope Google becomes aware of it and fixes this.
I saw one post in another forum that deleting the account on the phone fixes it, but I can't confirm that. I also don't want to lose all my text messages, so only going to do this as a last resort.
One time a few hours ago, all OK now.
not sure why it happened (phone not connected to usb), but i've also been noticing some disconnecting and reconnecting since yesterday, and one time play store "could not find a data connection". i'm sure its temporary.
Okay so i have a T-Mobile S4 it is now running 4.3, The phone was rooted and running the Google Edition custom rom on 4.2.2 when this issues started.
When i first rooted the phone and installed the Google Rom it worked fine, i could send pix to iphone and receive them from iphone (yes ive tested it with many iphone users and its always the same outcome) however a few weeks ago they stopped receiving any pic text i would send and i would receive theirs as well. I have tried this on wi-fi and just on my cellular network and it still doesnt work.
So last night i thought it might be due to the face i need to update to 4.3, so i un-root my phone, factory reset it so its back to 100% stock, update to 4.3 and im still having the same issue. It works fine with anyone using a Android device, but 90% of my friends and my GF have iphone so this is starting to piss me off...
any info would really help me out. and i didnt a search but nothing to the effect of my problem came up...
The problem is not with your phone, its because apple sucks.
