Okay so i have a T-Mobile S4 it is now running 4.3, The phone was rooted and running the Google Edition custom rom on 4.2.2 when this issues started.
When i first rooted the phone and installed the Google Rom it worked fine, i could send pix to iphone and receive them from iphone (yes ive tested it with many iphone users and its always the same outcome) however a few weeks ago they stopped receiving any pic text i would send and i would receive theirs as well. I have tried this on wi-fi and just on my cellular network and it still doesnt work.
So last night i thought it might be due to the face i need to update to 4.3, so i un-root my phone, factory reset it so its back to 100% stock, update to 4.3 and im still having the same issue. It works fine with anyone using a Android device, but 90% of my friends and my GF have iphone so this is starting to piss me off...
any info would really help me out. and i didnt a search but nothing to the effect of my problem came up...
The problem is not with your phone, its because apple sucks.

Hi everyone, I received the Galaxy Nexus last night from Google Play. Out of the box, I was able to connect to the network (make calls, send texts, etc.). I was charging my phone at night and then I realized that I was no longer connected to the T-Mobile network. The triangle is empty now and I can't do anything on the network anymore. I ran the Jelly Bean 4.1 OS upgrade as soon as we took the phone out of the box. I checked the APN settings and I noticed that it was completely blank but I was unable to successfully add a new one. I can try to create a new one and input all the settings but it doesn't seem like it was saved.
I just took it up with T-Mobile and told them to update my line to this phone, and they assured me that it would work in 2 hours, but I won't be holding my breath. At the same time, I contacted Google and they unfortunately said that they cannot do anything in this case and I would have to take it up with Samsung... I don't really want to do that and I hope that I don't have a faulty device..
Also, I never rooted it and everything is completely stock.
ANY HELP??

hi,
im in the exact same situation phone is perfect on stock rom and all but has an empty triangle with no internet connection being displayed on the notifications bar, i need my phone to work and would love to figure this out please someone help would greatly apprecitae it.
I have the same issue on my international one. It has been decided it has a hardware failure. I have no warranty though. I might buy one with a broken screen and swap. You have a warranty use it.

Same issue here. I had the phone for months (stock ROMs) and was perfectly happy. Few days back, connection dropped at random and the only way to fix it was through a reboot. Then, after 2 or 3 days, no connection whatsoever, it doesn't even "find" the sim card, so it seems as it's no longer asking for my sim pin code.
Tried about everything, even wiping and reflashing every stock ROM and radio I could get my hands on (including 4.2.1, 4.1.2 and 4.0.4), to no avail. I'm about to give up and return it to Samsung for repair. We're not the only ones, that for sure...
I'm completely new to Android and received my unlocked GSM Nexus today. So some details on what I did once I got the phone cause you guys will more than likely know better than me:
I rooted and then tried to OTA update to jellybean. Didn't work. Got the Android with the red exclamation mark. Downloaded a Jellybean ROM and flashed that. My friend tried to MMS me a pic from his T-Mobile SGS2. Just shows up as a blank white square. Played with the APN and added a few. Asked my sister (iPhone) to send me a pic and it works, but still can't receive my friends. Haven't asked anyone else yet to send me a pic. Could anyone please help?

You should tell us the ROM that way if someone else is on it they might know if that's a bug. Also, most of these JB ROMs are still in early to moderate developmental stages and may have bugs. I know with Jelly Belly that I am running there is a new build every other day almost so check the thread for your ROM to see if there is a newer build available. I am not having a MMS problem that I know of, I recieved one today and one yesterday.

I have noticed the same thing as jkim3691. It only happens with only 2 of my friends so far (both on android, one with a Samsung galaxy S III and the other and older android). I have attached an image of what is happening. Just like jkim3691 said, you get a white square, and there's no options if you hold it or anything. I have also attached a screenshot of my system. The thing is I don't remember if it started happening after my JB update or it was also on ICS.
My phone is completely stock, no rooting, nothing, just straight outta Google Play store and all my updates have been OTA.
stock too
Stock jellybean. GSM Unlocked Galaxy Nexus on ATT.
There has to be a solution to this crap.
Yeah I get those as well on some pics... meh

Hell everyone,
I recently rooted my phone and installed LiquidSmooth on my AT&T Samsung S3. About three days into using the ROM, I notice some connection problem between my phone and AT&T's network. The problem I experienced was I wouldn't receive texts or calls from other people even though the phone is connected to the network. When I do receive the texts, they come all at once at the same exact moment. Which means my notification ringtone going off like crazy.
This problem usually occurs at night around 9-12PM. I also experienced the same exact problem when I first started using CM10, the stable build. The one thing I also noticed after installing both ROM's is there's no voicemail number. I had to manually add a voicemail number, which is my own number, right?
I decided to unroot my phone and run Samsung's newly released JB update, which totally blows besides the battery life. As of right now with the unrooted phone and Sammy's updates, everything is running fine.
Thanks very much, I appreciate any help I get from you guys. And, I do want to apologize in advance if this question had already been asked. I tried searching, but couldn't find anything on the subject. If you guys need anymore details, please do not hesitate to ask. I will try my best to provide as much detail as possible. Thanks once again.
i recently my second S3 that i had flashed to page plus. i was told everything would work just as it did when it was stock with sprint. when i got it i noticed that i could receive MMS but not send them .It just says sending continuously until you get fed up enough to delete the message knowing its not actually going through. The next day I took the phone back to the dealer that i had flash it thinking they would know exactly how to fix it. its been a week now and the closest thing they could do was put an app called HOUDINI on it that allows me to send and receive MMS( im guessing through different APN settings?)although the app itself is laggy and horrible and i want to get rid of it as soon as humanly possible. they told me that had flashed the sprint S3 a couple times that week to page plus for other people and everything worked as it should but couldn't figure out what was going on with mine. another thing ive noticed is that it says i am receiving 3G data, but when compared to my friends phone on Verizon using 3G im not getting near the speeds he is.
im hoping to root my phone this week so i can get rid of that annoying camera shutter sound which sprint was nice enough to lock, and update to the latest version of android.
I have utilized the search button and haven't come across this particular problem or question
my questions...
1. has anyone had their L710 flashed to pageplus and experienced similar problems with data or MMS? or possibly heard of it and know a fix i am unable to find?
2. will rooting and/or updating android mess up my carrier flash and cause me to need another flash? from my research ive found that rooting should have NO effect on the flash, but updating might cause me to need to re-flash for the carrier.
I know this probably has been posted before, but all my searching has only lead to cold, dead links and questions that didn't get full answers or didn't help me. I got a brand spankin' new GNex through my Verizon warranty because of the charge port issue. I unlocked and rooted it, all smoothly since I've done it with this phone before, and chose Paranoid Android 4.6 beta 4, then upgraded to beta 5 (which came out the night I installed 4). Almost everything worked smoothly, even (knock on wood) GPS, though it was sometimes slow and my location history shows it doesn't seem to update as often (probably because lock is slow, but anyway). I wasn't sure if LTE is an issue because in my smallish town, 4g tends to be pretty spotty (an iPhone at my house in the middle of downtown gets 3g, but 3 miles out we get 4g).
The one issue that keeps nagging me is MMS. I can't send 99.9% of the time (after continued attempts, one actually sent one time even though it didn't acknowledge on my phone) and I can't receive at all. I found a few potential fixes, but the files were taken down or I, being a bit of an android noob still, didn't understand them. Has anybody fixed MMS on their Kitkat rom? I was using Shiny on the old warrantied phone with no issues, but want a rom with features and customization.
Thanks in advance,
Paul
