Guys I have an r800a xperia play version 2.32 rooted with Ginger break. what are my options for upgrading to a later version? last time I checked into this I heard you could not keep root access with 2.33. also I have removed many stock apps and gamez from the phone and I heard that you can't update without all these things on the phone. I am in Canada and have the Rogers play.
hi
ever since CM 7 is out for Xperia arc i've been wondering if i should unlock bootloader and start putting custom ROMs on my Arc but i'm hesitating
i don't know if it's worth it to unlock bootloader at the moment or not...
can anyone who unlock the bootloader tell me what he like about it and
what he is missing from stock ROM ? and is there better ROM then CM7 for Xperia arc ?
Hi.
It's worth it whether you want to put custom ROMs on or not as it's handy for a variety of things such as flashing Pre-rooted ROMS, Themes or Tweaks, or clearing caches and battery stats.
Do it, it's easy and if you screw up along the line there are fixes here.
Hey guys,
I am thinking of getting an Xperia play. I am not a newbie to rooting and Custom ROMS, but I am a newbie with regards to the Xperia Play.
I am purchasing a T-MOBILE Locked Xperia Play which I will be getting unlocked by T-mobile for £15.
One question I do have is. When rooting this device is it permanent, even after receiving OTA updates etc ?
Do I need to mess around with the Bootloader at all ? I would like the ability to be fully unlocked, however I hear it can cause issue with OTA updates,I would like to use the upcoming software update which may very well be ICS. If I unlock the bootloader but can no longer update over the air can I do it via my PC ?
Thanks guys.

Hi
Newbie here
I want to root my xperia play r800t on 2.3.3 with unlocked bootloader(by Alejandrissimo).
I have read that risks are involved in this such as the phone may get permanently damaged.
So what is the safest way to do so??
Is it by Superone click.
Any specific download link for att 2.3.3 xperia play would be appreciated.
Thanks
Superoneclick. You literally click one button and it does it all for you
