Hey,
I attached a photo I took a few minutes ago. Its from my girlfriends desire (running newest leedroid). The same issue appeared while she was running MIUI stock rom. Is this a hardware defect or a software problem? Has anybody seen that before? Thank you in advance!!

UPDATE:// Seems to be a hardware defect. When I push at the housing (near the camera or straight upon it) sometimes it works, so some kind of a "loose connection". Does someone know a good instruction in how to open the desire and remove the camera modul? The modul can be purchased on the internet for about 15€.

Hi!
I have a problem regarding swyping.
From time to time, the swype-funtionality stops working and only typing is possible.
The same behavior appears in the new JB-keyboard, so i assume that it is not swype itself.
After a few minutes, the desire gets back on track by itself.
When checking the display with position tracing (developer option) the trace of the finger is complete.
I assume, that it is relatetd to the keyboard driver or something like that .
In not keyboard related apps, sliding finger over the display works like normel, even when syping is not working.
Hopefully i was able to describe myproblem in a proper way
I'm running SPAZEDOG ICS
Bump

I've had this too. A reboot seems to cure it.
It's happened to me most often when there's an update to swype available, but maybe not always.
I don't know a proper solution, but be assured it's not just you.
Thanks!
I've installed the old 3.26 version of Swype and will check if the issue is gone now.

So I have now a really strange problem... I'm also not a noon or something else I really know much about android and especially HTC one m8 etc...the problem is I had really done all things to fix that...
But somehow without Doing anything I rebooted and process.media.android or so stopped working, gplay updates aren't working anymore also I can't install there any new app...already tried to delete data/cache for several Google things etc but nothing working...I hope someone finds a solution as I really don't have time to make a factory reset -.-

Hi folks.
I experience Touchscreen problems while typing.
Fast typing is recognized as swyping and if swyping is deactivated it just drops inputs.
Had the same probs with the Oneplus One as i purchased it shortly after release.
I made a Video of this happening: https://youtu.be/WlvDJAyWLGQ
Anyone experiencing the same issue?
Bye

Firstly, go to display settings and see if Glove mode is switched on. It increases screen sensitivity and might cause this. If it is OFF, switch it ON -> reboot-> test -> switch off -> reboot.
It might make the screen recalibrate itself, since you dont have root and cant initiate a screen calibration, to my knowledge.
Otherwise you might have a faulty touch sensor and your options are either replace the device, or use a glass/polymer protector on top of it and hope it decreases sensitivity
Having similar issue. Randomly(couple times during the day) part of a screen(each time different) stops responding. Rebooting my device helps, but after couple hours issue is back.

Dear all,
after waiting 3 weeks for the Austrian customs I finally received my mi5s today.
From the first switch on the display was not working, power button was working fine, screen on/off and finprint is reacting as well... but no reaction at the display;
Restarted the phone a couple of times... only ONE single time the display was about to react. But now ... again ... nothing.
Anyone of you guys seen this problem, hardware problem? software issue?! Bought the phone through tinydeal.
I'm really looking forward to your reply.
Thx,
Martin
Sounds really bad You could try to flash a new rom to it (see the guides in XDA for this) and hope it helps.
thx
but anyhow i can't be sure that the issue is caused by hardest or software...
don't want to modify the software or flash anything if there is a hardware issue. in this case i would just send it back. thx u though for your advice.
In that case, send it back because it's clearly not working as it should.
Try to check firmware, maybe it is broken vendor rom

thx again for the adivce - device was switched on yesterday in my car while I was working - in the evening I turned on the screen and apparently the display was working/reacting for a minute or so... then back to "no reaction"
I think I should flash firmeware and rom - probably its a software issue.
sorry for the stupid question - can you link me the direct post where a step-by-step instruction for flashing is given. I'm quite new to that.
Thank you!
Here is one manual, this will cause your phone to be unlocked (and probably disable mobile payment and pokemon go):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-5s/development/rom-xiaomi-eu-6-10-13-mi5s-mi5s-plus-t3480669
If this is not what you want, then you have to check with "miflash" to install the original vendor rom. It also depends on your current installed rom which variant you can/should do.
