I own a sony ux (http://www.sonystyle.com/webapp/wcs/...rch_seo&SQS=ux)
And I also have a sim card in it so I have Internet where ever I go. I was wondering if anyone knows if its possible to make outgoing calls using the AT&T Network and my sim card? Not voip, but like a cell phone.
I see that someone is working on using a skype dialer and an iphone skin to create a phone, but not sure if this is what I am looking for.

Let me know if I am way out of bounds here....

I have an issue where when I make a call there is no in-call ringing but the phone that I'm dialing rings which shows that the call is connecting. I can be heard by the recipient but I can't hear them. If they dial my DHD then I can pick up and we can speak as expected.
I'm on T-Mobile UK. I've tried the sim card in a Nokia handset and it works fine. I've tried another T-Mobile UK sim card in the DHD and the problem is still there. I've also tried an Orange UK sim card and the problem is NOT there which would suggest a T-Mobile issue but I'm not sure. The handset is factory unlocked and I'm using the original ROM
I've tried a factory reset through the menu and that has not helped.
Does anyone have any ideas, suggestions or similar experiences?
Thanks, M

Could be broken radio unit!
Ever tried to flash different radio?
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
I did a hard reset and entered my google details again which brought back all the apps I had got from the market place. The phone worked initially but after about one minute I was back to square one...
I did a second hard reset but did not enter my google details and therefore the apps were not there. The handset worked. I then entered my google details but this time the apps were not present on the handset. I downloaded the apps I wanted and the handset is still working.
All i can think off is an app has switched of the in-call audio. When I inserted the Orange SIM there was no internet connection so I think it must have been an app but I'm not sure as I had not installed one for sometime.
Also when I login to the android market place on my PC it still shows my old apps however this is not reflected on the DHD????
does the sound come out through a pair of headphones during a call?
Hey guys, so I bought my galaxy nexus from a guy who bought it from his own carrier(bell) and i'm using it with another carrier(rogers). For some reason, my ics is stuck at 4.0.1 and I guess I can't update untill I root the phone? Why is that?
Is there anyway to get the updates if I don't root?
Also, when I use the bluetooth in my car, the music plays through the speakers of the car, but phone calls don't and I have to hear them through the phone speakers. I can get phone calls through my car speakers with an Iphone, but not the galaxy nexus. Anyone knows a solution?
I'm not 100% on your first question but for the bluetooth, make sure under your device in the BT settings it is paired as a media device AND a headset or handsfree kit. My guess is that it is only paired for media.

My car has a single bluetooth device and under the bluetooth settings on my galaxy nexus I only have an option to pair with that device. I can't see the option of connecting as a media device or anything else. Anyone else is having an issue like this?? With an Iphone I connect to the same bluetooth device of the car and it connects everything, like music, calls, games sounds. However the galaxy nexus connects every sound in the phone to the speakers except the calls.
*#*#CHECKIN#*#*
input that into your dialer, treat it like a phone number, no need to press the call button. This forces your phone to check for updates, maybe it will help.
Other than waiting for the update to push to your phone there is not much you can do to manually update your phone without unlocking the bootloader and rooting. But you bought a Nexus branded phone for a reason right?
If you decided to open the hacking doors: Go over to the toolkit thread and read up. unlock the bootloader (this will erase EVERYTHING, including photos/media etc so back up), flash the stock Google image of 4.0.4 (http://code.google.com/android/nexus/images.html), root, do not flash CWM (that will ensure you can receive and install OTAs in the future).

You have a non-"yakju" version of ICS (aka "yakju**" or "yakjuxx").
This means that your updates are handled by Samsung instead of Google because the carrier that sold the phone had some small, regional tweaks such as radios on it.
You will get updates slightly slower than yakju devices because of this. You don't have to root to update. If you want to switch to yakju and be on that update path, it is completely possible without rooting. You will need to unlock your bootloader and use Fastboot to flash the images from Google. You will remain stock but it will 100% wipe your device (of course). You will not be rooted. You will continue to receive OTAs.
There are literally dozens of guides and threads on this already. Just search it a bit and you'll find more than enough info on this.
Hi guys, thanks for the replies. So I guess I'll change to the yakju version.
But I still haven't figured out what to do with the bluetooth calling. This is really irritating since I use my phone to make lots of calls while driving and I can't do that now after switching to this phone. Anyone has had the same problem as me on this or have figured out a way to make calls with bluetooh? Even games have a sound on the speakers while connected to bluetooh!! as soon as I get a call or make a call I have to start listening via the speakers of the phone
Hello,
This is my first dual SIM phone.
One of the things I have been struggling is the fact that we need to choose which SIM we want to use.
I've been using an app called "Dual SIM Selector" but I would like to know what most of you guys are using to automate this selection.
Does anyone knows if there's a clever way of doing this task?
Does tasker, for instance, can do this, is there a better app?
Thanks.
Kavsko.
I'm not sure I understand you question fully but I struggled a bit with finding a suitable way to select sims when dialing. I am more using this phone dialer which held a lot. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.hb.dialer.free
Im first dual sim phone here too, you can configure it in the sim setting which card is to use for phone/sms/internet. Or do you mean something else?

I'm using this Dialer too and is very easy to use. You can setup a contact list in Dual Sim settings where you can fix contacts to call with a specific sim card.
Hello,
as far as my research concluded the Note 10 doesn't support assigning contacts to a specific sim card.
While this isn't normally a problem since you can chose the setting to ask for each call, it is a problem when driving.
When starting the call from the car, it doesn't ask which sim card to use and therefore doesn't start the call at all.
Are there good alternative phone or contact apps which allow me to assign a specific sim to a contact?
Both the default app and the google phone app (currently my primary app) don't seem to support it.
Are there any good alternatives?
Thanks for any advice.

Try True Phone. Should be possible. This app has much more than just that.
Good question! I use all the time the dual sim function and it's such a non-sense having ro select all the time the SIM number I've got to use every single time... On my OnePllus 7T this used to be so simple....
Have been testing True Phone for about a month now and have been very happy with it so far.
Fixes my problem and allows a deep customization. Can absolutely recommend it.
I had a headache at work because of this. after all, a lot of necessary numbers were missing. I even lost my best friend's number, and besides, he moved to another city. But thank God I found a reference book, and it became easy to find a friend in France. I could not solve the problem with the phone. I had to buy a new one, I switched to an iPhone and am very pleased. And I advise you to go to the service or buy a new one.
