Hi. Was wondering if someone can help me. The market is saying that alot of apps are not compatible with my device that were before (like Facebook and minecraft) not sure what caused it. But what I have done is unlocked bootloader. se based doomkernel v08 and se tweaked rom ( didn't work before I flashed rom) and a few tweaks with root.
This is starting to get annoying now so any help will be much appreciated

Sounds like the build.prop is the problem. Grab a stock one from a 2.3.4 system dump and push it to the root of /system/ folder. Then clear market data and cache and try again.

It could be the build.prop (DPI settings etc) but i solved this problem by deleting market updates

Could be a dumb question but how do I clear the market data cache, and where can I find a stock build.prop?

Unistalling updates works but the old market doesn't seem to show many apps. How can I get default build prop? For some reason I don't have a backup for it. Could someone upload one please?
Fixed: set LCD density back to 240 and got loads of app updates. Think it looks awful so plan for now is change back once a month to check for updates

Search for the .apk files and install them manually?
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App
How do I get em to become system apps? I have the. Apk files but can't get em to work...maybe I have bad apk's? They were given to me so their not my originals,I can't find the originals.
Are you putting them in system/app or are you finding them with a file explorer and trying to install them like a regular app?
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App
voice was never a system app so market download will cure that. I'd reflash your selected rom to fix gtalk
I have tried to drop them in system/app but nothing happens, I've also tried to install the normal way, do I need to use terminal emulator to install them? Cuz I don't know how exactly.

I can't download from market or I'd have solved this already ={
Shouldn't have to mess with the terminal to install any apps. Looking at my phone, Google voice is in data/app and gtalk is in system/app. You shouldn't have any trouble installing from the market though, have you tried reflashing the rom that you're on?
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App
Yeah I tried flashing back but still no talk or voice app, I did get Gvoice back on here but the talk app is the most important. Would it hurt me to just go crazy and drop a copy of it in all my folders and just hope one catches it?
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA Premium App
Well gtalk only belongs in system/app, I don't think it would do any good anywhere else.. What rom are you using? If its an AOSP rom, did you flash GAPPS (googleapps) after flashing the rom?

I have CyanogenMod-7.0.3-Inc I also don't have Verizon though that's what it says. I have cricket wireless and last time I flashed a new ROM it messed up my radio I haven't flashed a new one since getting it fixed cuz I'm obviously not so good with this. How can I know if a new ROM would mess up my radio again
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA Premium App
I'm not sure about cricket, I have seen where people have had to go into EPST settings, etc, to get data and everything working on cricket. If you already have those things configured, flashing a new rom shouldn't revert those changes, but I'm not 100% sure on that. I'd recommend performing a backup first, then if it doesn't work you can just revert to where you were before. Did you flash the Google apps zip after flashing cyanogenmod? You need to do that in order to get certain Google apps that cyanogen can legally not bundle with their rom. I would reflash the rom, then flash GAPPS immediately after the rom (don't reboot THEN flash GAPPS, do it all at once) and you should be fine. And remember, always backup!
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App
Ok so make a backup, then reflash my current rom AND GAPPS,then reboot? And where can I find the Gapps.zip to flash?
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA Premium App
Yep, backup, reflash the rom, then immediately after (before reboot) flash Google apps, reboot, then your market should be working fine. Here's a link for the gapps zip http://goo-inside.me/gapps/gapps-gb-20110307-signed.zip

How to would I go about un-doing this hack? It's stopping me from downloading large sized apps from the market.

I've tried clearing the cache through CWM.

re flash ROM
Sent from my R800i using Tapatalk
Had a feeling that's what I'll have to do. It's a case of dumping the UK 2.3.4 into my firmwares on the latest flash tool right?
No worries, I luckily had a back up from before I flashed the hack. I found it was more trouble than it's worth sadly.
Are you using 2.3.4? If so the dalvik hack wont work well
Sent from my R800i using Tapatalk
Just delete the script from /system/etc/init.d/
Sent from my R800i using Tapatalk
I'm using link2sd and wonder if I ever update to 2.3.4 if it will be a problem too. I haven't yet even figured out if I would have to update via pc or are there other options? Will I have to reroot or will it be kept? If the root goes will all the links etc break for my apps on the second sd partition?

Yes, OTAs will soft brick your phone if you've removed system apps. Either freeze them rather than deleting them, then unfreeze before you update, or you can use FlashTool to update

Just uninstall anything you want (personally I've got rid of loads) then when the update comes, flash one of the ft files ( u can get them on here) and update... then wait for root lol dunno if we will have it for ics?

If i get titanium backup, i can backup all system apps, delete them then when needed just restore them? Will that work?
Sent from my R800i using XDA App
Yep. Just don't format your memory card... you could even backup the titanium back up folder to your PC (just to be sure) its on your SD card

Oh cool, so if i reinstall eg facebook through titanium, it wil automatically become a system app?

As far as i know, if you remove system apps and try to OTA, it will not soft brick your phone, but the update will fail, i think it's only devices with officialy unlocked bootloaders that get bricked (I may be wrong though so don't take my word for it).
I think you can update with SEUS after removing System apps though. And like that other chap says, you can just take a backup of the apps you remove, and push them back to system before you OTA.

Hello people, I have read this thread and I also have r800i with 2.3.4, just brought recently and am new to rooting. I would like to root and was just wondering is there a step by step guide how to do this using super one click and a link for where to download super one click, or the other method mentioned? Kernel is 2.6.32.9 perf build is 4.0.2.A.0.42 if thats any good to know. Thank you in advance.
Enable USB debugging (settings - application- development and then tick USB debugging box), then press home, plug in to USB to pc, and click "root" on the super one click... wait a min and done!! Hope I helped .
If you need help feel free to pm

I'm trying to erase Bruce Lee, Crash Band, and Star batallion. Every time I try to un-install these apps it says can't find apk files. I was able to remove all the bloat and the other three games that came came pre-installed. I really need more MB on my play. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Hi!
You will find them: /System/app
I used Root Uninstaller Pro!
PLAY-ről Tapatalk 2-vel!
I used a root explorer app and manually deleted the apks. Worked without problems for me.

Sent from my R800x using XDA
Yeah if You use Root Explorer and Delete it from sys/app it won't come back even if you factory reset your phone, did this and also used this method to remove excessive audio files...

Please help me i m noob to this i have rooted my xperia play via super one click root. and installed titanium backup and removed bloatware like "videos and music", "track ID" , and some games. I m on android 2.3.4 stock non unlocked bootloader untouched kernel ETC . want to ask if factory reset wont make my phone malfunctioning. Also unrooting via same software used to root and then factory reset will make it malfunction. please answer my both question cause i will prefer the first option .. I have read a lot over internet that rooting and factory reset ruins the phone . And have anyone tried this before.
Bhai factory reset means it'll wipe your data games etc. It'll not malfunction phone at all. And you can unroot via superone click

Dude m asking wheter the bloatware wont create any problem dat i hav removed , while doing factory reset.
As long as you didn't delete any important core apps, you should be fine to factory reset
No, bloatware will not cause any prob. But it should be bloatware only and not imp system app as said by jaklebott. If you got any prob. You can easily flash stock again via flashtool. So don't worry

Framework is framework.
In noob speak: Those are files that are needed to stay at where they are. Deleting can cause bootloop, or other negative probs.
