Could anybody tell me how to enable this feature for this phone.
Please do not give the obvious answer because I already tried with all zip files uploaded in other threats.
I know there is a manual way for activating this option but I would really appreciate if you can upload a zip file to be directly flashed in this phone.
Thanks in advance

I tried it and they seem to be working as my gallery seems a little sharper than it used to be. Granted I am also running my own version of kl1 so I don't know if its just in my head but I like it

The bravia and xloud engines do not work at all on any phone but Sony xperia phones. Everything is a placebo. Its Proprietary software and hardware no phones but the Sony phones have.

They only work on sony phones. What people are seeing is a placebo effect. Image rendering is part of the system as well deeply embedded in the linux kernel drivers. Placing two files with in system/etc with certain permissions does nothing. The build prop edit also does nothing. It is totally bypassed.
In no way were system files patched or hacked or anyway by this. You would have to hack the image process library and patch the required system files. As well hack and patch apk files that take advantage of this.

I have flashed and noticed nothing. Also there is absolutely no improvement to video or images.
The point is this: this engine port is known to not work at all.
You say youve made it work and your proof is you can hear it. That is silly.

I can notice the audio different between with the bravia engine and not.
I used to have a sony walkman cell phone and listen at least 1 hour everyday during driving for 2 years. When I switched to the samsung s2 phone and i noticed the S2 audio is weaker then my sony.
I flashed the beastmod 4.0, i can hear the audio is very closed to the sony phone. I noticed the audio different before I've checked the change log, so this is not my mentally thinking. It's the fact.
1 thing I need to clarify, I do hear the big different if I am using my car audio speaker. But if I use the cell phone speaker or the earphone, honestly, I don't notice much. I believe the cell speaker or the earphone can't able to handle the best part. But the bravia engine does work on the samsung S2.
For the video or picture part, I don't know about it.

The bravia engine has nothing to do with the sound. Also it really has nothing to do xcloud. There are a whole bunch of kernel patches for the qualcomm processor online that boost the the volume you hear. By 20%. The qualcomm chip has dsp manager built in. A few tweaks would get the volume louder than what it is.
The bravia engine is image rendering. Which literally does not work. Samsung devices do not even have the correct system files or services which would activate it. This has been done on various devices the only devices its known to work on is xperia arc devices. Also bravia engine has not been open source. Either so you would need to do some serious hacking as well.

The only logical method would be to edit the standard media profiles, hack the camera, and change the way compression works in the gallery. Thats why on other roms its looks diffrent. Than on beastmod. I will also add that sony line only has LED-backlit LCD, capacitive touchscreen. Ours is a super amoled + not only would you have to reverse engineer to get the kernel drivers that make the bravia engine works sinces it is not open source. You would have to port them as well to make it work with super amoled drivers.

What's on the subject, yes, I fixed that for Nexus. The kernel (omap4) itself needn't be patched, that's great. The TI guys have done a _cool_ work ever, we should be grateful, indeed.
So all you have to do is to change the setup before the call. A sample is in http://avs234.net/temp/rvoix_lib/jni (live.cfg), _full_ sources included.
Please do mail me if you find a bug or anything!

Yes, experimental version works excellent for me. For some reason it didn't work with GLaDOS kernel, and with LeanKernel I was getting bad, low, strange(as if both laudspeaker and phone speaker were active during conv.) sound. Both kernels use Sound Control I thin, maybe that has something to do with it?
Faux's Hybrid 015 ultimate works like a charm. Since I am satisfied with it in genera,l I'll stick with it, for a while at least

What's this, Sound Control? If it does really as it's named, expecting some trouble yes as it may disable the proper settings.
Is there a tute for this?
it may be wise to add the resources from the other thread, if there really have to be two co-existent threads.
otherwise the influx of confused people, that somehow are not able to read the other thread will skyrocket.
thanks for the research on how to get the 2-way recording to the maguro.
The incompatibility on GLaDOS and other kernels could be due to the fact that most of the kernel devs remove unnecessary lines of code from stock kernel while developing ( in order to make them leaner and more efficient).
Although it might be supported by stock kernel, they could have accidentally removed the supporting lines of codes considering them a waste of space.

Yes, that's the point we need to clarify. On GLaDOS, they must be using some non-canonical (i.e. non-TI) version omap4 stuff.
I just dunno figure out why. Does someone have a link, or maybe I'd contact them, it's _interesting_ yes.

Have you tried changing 'Record a call from' in Call Recorder preferences? You could also try playing with the live.cfg file avs333 mentioned a couple of times.

You will also have to buy the app, since it is not free. That is only the testing version which will work up to the first of May.
Thanks! I tried all the sources. The kernel patch source and alsa source both have echo on bluetooth (means I can hear my voice in my ear) and distortion reported by the other party (sounds like I'm in a tin can). I looked at the config and frankly it's greek to me.
I can assist with testing/debug but unfortunately that's about all I can do right now.
Curious... I just noticed that this beta callrecorder with alsa, when recording calls, activates the phones internal earpiece and mic, in addition to bluetooth, when bluetooth is active. So while I was making a test call, I could hear audio in my bluetooth, but when I leaned down near the phone I could hear audio coming from the phone's ear speaker as well. This might explain the echo in my ear along with distortion of my voice heard by the called party. I also covered up the bluetooth mic and leaned down to the phone and I could speak into the phone and hear the audio crystal clear in the bluetooth earpiece.
When I tell callrecorder not to record calls, the problem goes away.
Hello, I'm quite interested in installing the software pluglin Beats Audio on my HTC Wildfire Buzz G8, and was wondering if it is possible, and above all, the like.

yep, clearly - I'm sure that you also do a few things on your Willy I'd never like to try out
But that reports that BE would just be a "dirty trick" (obviously how else you could get bass on 3mm membranes lol) and would break the Android audio system didn't just come from Xeno's dev - I already read about that long before...
But as I also mentioned a few times: I do use my phone for listening to music but I don't own one of these expensive headsets... and I can live with it easily

Although it's the sound (and the HP calibration) what keeps me sticking with XenoAmp, initially it has been the playlist concept what triggered my attention as I always thought - with any player (I also tried power amp) - it was a hazzle to do a simple playlist on my phone - just quick and easy. Besides those 2 reasons I recently discovered that Xeno can do even more (I never read any manuals unless big fat red warnings to do so). I didn''t know that it also supports shoutcast radio stations (+ planned feature: LAN)
--- EDIT --- and I like the UI of course

What do you mean by it didn't work ? If you mean you didn't get an app or a beats symbol anywhere then pmsl !! It's basically just an audio enhancement and to the naked eye will remain invisible and to the naked ear is also debated if it does much anyway but I personally noticed a bass enhancement. Ok so if you don't notice a difference then try something else,if you do then BONUS.....don't just say it doesn't work !! We can debate this until the cows come home lol some use and some don't final.

is there an option, on some app, mod, ROM that i can reduce the sensitivitiy of the microphone itself so that my baby(note2) can record music on a reduced level so that kicks and snares on a drum dont pop out, click on the speakers?????
... i use it for info recording ideas of my garage band... nothing serious, i dont need to be perfect, just one the sound of each instrument to be recognizable, so we can develop the music idea that we recorded later...
i used to do it on the iP4 and it had better recording capabilities in the native recorder that comes with iOS , there were no such problems of that kind...
thats about ONLY thing i resent on my gt n7100 ... :crying:
anyone??
here are the recordings with iphone 4 and galaxy note 2 in the same booth, room that we are practicing... the sound difference is unrealistic... its like galaxy note is some cheap crap ... it has better bass recognition but overall ip4 wins easily...

I've been looking for the opposite, in my case the problem is that I need more sensitivity. I've been looking for kernels and apps and so far I've just found one kernel that implements microphone gain tweaking via four modes of operation:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2000328
I have to say that I tried it but had no luck, the mentioned modes didn't work. Switching modes only made it more unresponsive, to the point that i had to yell to get heard.
I'll be watching that thread for the next version. Maybe it works for you.
BTW I'm on 4.1.2 stock.
tnx 4 the reply man eventhough it was not heplful, but tnx!
im on 4.1.1, stock, and i cant belive that there is kno one here that can write some information with sense about this, im not expecting someone to solve this out, just to say is there is something like that in development or maybe it already exists. This forum is full of genius people but no one can help me...cant believe it...
I advise you to stay in tune with that NEAK kernel I posted about above. One of the mic operation modes is intended for very noisy places like concerts, so it seems to fit on your purpose of recording with your band.
I can't post outside links due to my poor post history. Google for "uNEAKWolfsonAudioControl" Have a look at that info. It's the audio tweaks included in that kernel. I insist it might help you once the bugs in kernel get solved (hopefully next version).
Cheers

Anyone know how to get call recording on this device that doesn't use microphone?
[ NEXUS⁴ / VANILLA ROOTBOX / APEX PRO / TAPATALK ]
What? I'm not being a smartass but it sounds like u wanna run ur automobile without turning on the engine. I don't understand wat u mean.
Edit: do u mean line recording? If so try this
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=polis.app.callrecorder
Don't know if its work for s2.

None of those apps will work without messing with the Android OS to circumvent the restriction on recording calls. They have made it very hard to get around. All these lame apps end up doing is turning on your speaker and trying to record from the ambient sound, which is really really crappy
Anyone figure this out. I found a few kernel hacks on xda, but the threads are all a year or two old and the links no longer point to existing download locations. Major thanks to this forum by the way! Couldn't have rooted my phone without you, and without root it was a paper weight after hardware keys died out.

I once had a good call recording addon when I used Jedi mindtrick ROM. I don't think you need the ROM to do it because it was from the Xposed Framework app. I activated and installed the app then scrolled down the downloads list and was able to find a phone recorder. When I installed it and reset the phone, it added an option to record phone calls to the phone menu. It saved the files to the SD card and they sound legit.
You probably know more about this stuff. Hope it helps!

This one works. I've used it on my T989 and a cheap, low budget Galaxy Discover S730M. Works flawlessly on both

It looks like someone did it with Samsung source last year.... First time I've heard of it in a tw rom....
Anyone else dumbfounded by this being set so low? This was the reason I started running aosp roms on my EVO 4G.... And kept with them on my Galaxy SII.
Why isn't this more important to people? Music sounds like poop over bluetooth.
Anyone know of a fix for the Note 3?

this message didn't go quit as I planned, so to bump it and get what I wanted to say in...I'll Reply:
someone actually did this with the Samsung Captivate Glide. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1880298
I would LOVE this to be fixed once and for all by Samsung, but....doesn't look like that will EVER happen....
Basically highs sound too compressed and scratchy almost...am I the only one who's almost quit listening to music from my phone in the car because of this?
Thanks
quick fix that (at least) make BT music sounds better...
edit build.prop and add this value:
lpa.decode=false
tunnel.decode=false
lpa.use-stagefright=false

And reboot....

I missed this post, but thank you!!!
I just made the changes, but haven't been out to my car yet. Hoping for the best, but honestly, not expecting much. What do these changes do? I'm gonna google it, but....I'm asking here too.
You're welcome ^^
From what I googled: it reroute your audio stream through main CPU instead of special DFX introduced in JB+, the Low Power Audio decoder -lpa.decode- (thus increase in batt usage like playing music in pre-JB Android)...
I would be glad if it works for you as well ad solve your problem ^^

I was super excited, but ...it didn't work. Highs still sound like poop. It's hard to tell sometimes, but, when my random playlist hit In The Mall by Weezer, it became very obvious that it still sucked.
the cymbols in that song are pretty isolated, and that's where you can hear the static compression. just sounds terrible to me...and i'm far from an audiophile...
Thanks for responding though!
Ah yes, its still suck but better than using LPA Decoder...
Still have to find a way to make it at least listenable....
I'm an audiophile... And this problem made me crazy...
Some says that its intentional by Sammy, coz Sammy use APT-X protocol for streaming music (maybe its their marketing strategy to make ppl switch to Samsung Level headset/APT-X compatible headset?).

I didn't mention it in this thread, but I think last time I tried an AOSP rom for this phone, I still wasn't very impressed with the sound quality. Have you tried? I think I tried a PAC-Man rom a few months ago....

Umm, nope... I never tried AOSP/AOKP anymore since my Note 2....
And I give up using bluetooth for music, can't bear the sound quality...
I tried Viper but it stuttering too much, and I don't like equalized/tuned sound... I listen to music as-is....
I'll try to get cheap APT-X bluetooth headset (not $500++ headset as I'm cheap )
