[Q] How to install Beats Audio? Is that possible? - Wildfire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello, I'm quite interested in installing the software pluglin Beats Audio on my HTC Wildfire Buzz G8, and was wondering if it is possible, and above all, the like.
Thank you.

goto the dev section and find the mokee thread or click on my mokee signiture link and in post 2 there is a beats zip which you just need to flash over your rom.

How do I flash over my rom?

Just flash it in CWM without wiping anything.

Sent from my HTC Sensation XE with Beats Audio using xda app-developers app

the app does the same thing as the zip file, doesn't it?

And now I come as evil killjoy: the dev of my favorite audio player says: "Beats Audio mod causes android AudioEffect failure, we've observed it on HTC One X." - and to be honest: I don't think that BA sounds better than Xeno with earphone calibration...

I don't really know as I don't listen to music on my phone but when it 1st came about and I tested it,I did noticed a bass difference. To be honest a Dev of an app will always belittle a mod of similar stat lol to gain increased download of his app !! You and he may be totally correct as I've heard it said before too but each to his/her own. Think also if you have got a quality headset system you won't need any ?

yep, clearly - I'm sure that you also do a few things on your Willy I'd never like to try out
But that reports that BE would just be a "dirty trick" (obviously how else you could get bass on 3mm membranes lol) and would break the Android audio system didn't just come from Xeno's dev - I already read about that long before...
But as I also mentioned a few times: I do use my phone for listening to music but I don't own one of these expensive headsets... and I can live with it easily
BTW: don't know when exactly you've tried Xeno - but the headphone calibration (which to me is the essential thing) doesn't exist that long...
--- EDIT --- for the quality headset: I'm pretty sure a lot of the excited guys in the app's thread do own such thingies...

Well,I've heard some music on One X(of course with beats audio) enabled, and TBH it didn't impress me much,PowerAmp with right configuration sounds so much superior than BA with same headphones on my wildfire.
I tried Xeno as well, liked its headphone calibration feature. It gives some visualizer kind of effect, but PowerAmp is something I cant give up for anything.

Although it's the sound (and the HP calibration) what keeps me sticking with XenoAmp, initially it has been the playlist concept what triggered my attention as I always thought - with any player (I also tried power amp) - it was a hazzle to do a simple playlist on my phone - just quick and easy. Besides those 2 reasons I recently discovered that Xeno can do even more (I never read any manuals unless big fat red warnings to do so). I didn''t know that it also supports shoutcast radio stations (+ planned feature: LAN)
--- EDIT --- and I like the UI of course

Indeed it has a better UI and as you said provides you with much ease to create playlists.I'll probably make Xeno my default music player when I buy a good piece of earphones.
PowerAmp is making cheap earphones sound good for me atm.

What do you mean by it didn't work ? If you mean you didn't get an app or a beats symbol anywhere then pmsl !! It's basically just an audio enhancement and to the naked eye will remain invisible and to the naked ear is also debated if it does much anyway but I personally noticed a bass enhancement. Ok so if you don't notice a difference then try something else,if you do then BONUS.....don't just say it doesn't work !! We can debate this until the cows come home lol some use and some don't final.

[Q] Louder volume mod?

Been wondering if editing certain values in AudioPara4.csv would help increase the volume output through the Headset? I did edit the files of system/etc and came up with the following flashable zip. There's also a stock one to revert back. I did test both but I'm too sleepy to notice a difference (Yeah, it's 8.30am here and didn't sleep a wink yet!). So if anyone would like to help, test the SOUND.zip and see if you notice a difference- and please report.
If it doesn't, flash back to STOCK SOUND.zip till further notice. And if anyone else would like to input any relevant info, that'd be helpful as well.
And please don't talk about Volume+ or equalizers, only looking for an internal mod that'd help with system wide volume boost.
Just for info, the only lines I'd edited in the Flashable zip is the hex values (to higher values) in Column H of PHONE_HEADSET_VOL0 to VOL5 (Row 77-82).
No difference. Not only this have tried many other tweaks but nothings helps. Stock sound is good on headset. What I want is some tweak for speaker ( it really suck )

But if you meant that as a temporary fix for the user peace.nitish, then I guess you're right. Volume+ does provide a significant boost (Avoid hitting the levels too high, may distort)- and is available for free on the developer's webpage.
As for the etc files, they may need some more looking at! Will post an update if I find anything useful..
i think all boosters/volume mods only harms speaker.
standart volume is enough to hear if someone calling you.
if you want listen to music, buy headphones.

Well, only on the lookout for a fix to increase output in the headset and not the speaker. The speaker is loud enough if you ask me, the headset could've done better.
I've modded outputs on several phones successfully (including a Sensation, Desire HD and HD mini, of the HTC line) and there are always values which will harm your speaker AND values that (if edited reasonably) would increase output without distortion to a higher-than-safe official value.
Editing the AudioPara4.csv file for devices such as Aria and G2 have proved a higher output. And I'm pretty sure it is responsible for the output on the WFS as well. Just needs some more looking into.

Give ACID Audio Engine a shot

[MOD] Hey guys here's a link to ACiD Audio Engine. I've been using this audio engine and the results have been pretty great.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2002367
Use the universal installation in aroma and remember if you install walkman don't install any add-ons.
I personally skip the walkman installation and use the noozy add-on.
Please do a nandroid backup before trying and do not install on top of nocturnal's music mod.
Remember not to use music player equalizer as the installed app changes sound system wide.
Thanks for viewing and give thanks to the acid forum if you find this useful.
lol i read this as Give ACID a shot. I was like i like this guys thinking.
Never the less, great find, gonna try this out.
Dude you just made my day lol.
Make sure if you use Walkman not to install any sound add on as it will conflict.

Sorry dude, they state pretty clearly that you shouldn't install on top of any other mod as it will cause issues. I personally wouldn't do it all though you could always nandroid back.
What is every ones opinion on this? Is this better then beats audio?

I tried the nooze option and I didn't really like it. The bass is still distorted. I need a driver that adds more power like DPS Manager from CM

Did you go into the noozxoide EIZO-rewire app. That's where you adjust all settings and it has more options in it that alot of other equalizers don't. It lets you adjust from megabass to other various engines.

Increase bitpool?

It looks like someone did it with Samsung source last year.... First time I've heard of it in a tw rom....
Anyone else dumbfounded by this being set so low? This was the reason I started running aosp roms on my EVO 4G.... And kept with them on my Galaxy SII.
Why isn't this more important to people? Music sounds like poop over bluetooth.
Anyone know of a fix for the Note 3?

I just made the changes, but haven't been out to my car yet. Hoping for the best, but honestly, not expecting much. What do these changes do? I'm gonna google it, but....I'm asking here too.
You're welcome ^^
From what I googled: it reroute your audio stream through main CPU instead of special DFX introduced in JB+, the Low Power Audio decoder -lpa.decode- (thus increase in batt usage like playing music in pre-JB Android)...
I would be glad if it works for you as well ad solve your problem ^^

I was super excited, but ...it didn't work. Highs still sound like poop. It's hard to tell sometimes, but, when my random playlist hit In The Mall by Weezer, it became very obvious that it still sucked.
the cymbols in that song are pretty isolated, and that's where you can hear the static compression. just sounds terrible to me...and i'm far from an audiophile...
Thanks for responding though!
Ah yes, its still suck but better than using LPA Decoder...
Still have to find a way to make it at least listenable....
I'm an audiophile... And this problem made me crazy...
Some says that its intentional by Sammy, coz Sammy use APT-X protocol for streaming music (maybe its their marketing strategy to make ppl switch to Samsung Level headset/APT-X compatible headset?).

And I give up using bluetooth for music, can't bear the sound quality...
I tried Viper but it stuttering too much, and I don't like equalized/tuned sound... I listen to music as-is....
I'll try to get cheap APT-X bluetooth headset (not $500++ headset as I'm cheap )

I'm not a dev but there's a small group of us on xda sharing intel to make it work. I'll send u the link of the man to talk to. u might have to send some files so he can make it work if he's willing. I tried doing the work myself with some help. it shows in settings but doesn't work cause it needs more work
It's currently impossible to port due to libraries being specifically compiled for the Snapdragon 801 chipset. The same applies for working BoomSound effect on sense 6 ROMs. We won't be having h/k audio anytime soon, maybe in the distant future though (but I highly, highly doubt that!) As for BoomSound, we must wait until official sense 6 update because only HTC can compile the libraries to be compatible for our chipset.

I have BoomSound and it's awesome.. sounds like adding a subwoofer.. when I port hk it replaced BoomSound.. reach out to this guy.. he gave us some ideas to make it work. firmware and maybe 3/4 files need more modding.. if he won't help a professional dev can def make it work http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2737498
That's not the point. The reason why it can be ported to all m8 variants is that they all share the same chipset and DAC. The h/k audio cannot be ported due to libaudioflinger. Libaudioflinger is what calls these audio libraries when a particular sound effect is enabled. If the code for the effects are not in libaudioflinger, they will simply not work. Now the thing is, libaudioflinger is compiled very specifically. Firstly, using m8's libaudioflinger so simply make the OS crash at boot. Secondly, our current libaudioflinger does not have the codes for h/k in the library so h/k can't be called. Thirdly, it's not just libaudioflinger that we need to get h/k working, they also depend on hw audio libraries which are obviously chipset specific. If we don't have those dependencies then we won't have this working for our chipset.
We can't simply mod libraries to make it work. This requires complete recompiling with the correct codes which will call the h/k libraries when the audio effect is enabled. Only HTC can do this as they are licensed to have the source code and use it.
Also, how is BoomSound working for you? No sense 6 port have BoomSound working!

That makes a lot of sense on issues were having.. I tested it on m7 viper Rom.. I know everyone say it don't work but when I looked again it said it won't work on internal speaker. So I plug my headset in and when I turned it on it soun ded like I was sitting in a car with a badass bass system. I don't know if it's supposed to do that. I combined it with viper4android because it has similar features like Harmon kardon and doesn't replace existing sound mods like Harmon kardon..

Tab S sound Boost, cannot find Mixer paths xml file? Help needed

I love my tab S and maybe this is the best screen I've seen my whole life.
But one thing bothers me that, I've been using the s and note devices from past 3 years, one thing I always did was Boost the sound for Speaker and the Headphone in the Mixer paths xml file.
I've searched this tab for a similar file and have got absolutely nothing.

I thought xml edit only applied to CM/AOSP/GPe roms.
OP, did this end up working out for you?

I've attached some screen shots to what you need to modify to increase your external speakers along with headphones.
You'll need Root Explorer or equivalent.
Let me know if it helped.
It's best to raise the digital volume it sounds less distorted ...my setting are +12 to all digital volumes and sounds great
Just to to clarify, you only need to raise the digital volume? I'm going to give it a shot.

Could you take a screenshot of your settings numbers and post it?? Showing all your numbers as in example pic? I am getting ready to try this. Thanks:fingers-crossed:

Anybody tried this, the free version gets mixed reviews but the pro version (£2.00) get good ones.

I have tried that and multiple others. Some work well, some dont.
None have given me what I am looking for which it the ability to boost things like system volume, notification volume, etc. Still looking for a way to do that.
The best that I can accomplish is boosting media volume via a music or video player. If that is all you are looking for then the equalizer and bass booster will work fine.
