Google Wallet installation - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Just wondering if there's a way yet to install Google Wallet on the Nexus without installing a whole rom...
I'd think that there was some kind of way you could just install the APK like with any other app, maybe not considering it needs access to NFC. Who knows?
I wan't to walk into McDonalds and pay for my McFlurry like a boss.

Have you even searched the very popular galaxy nexus App section?
If you had you would see this:

It only requires that you have clockwork mod installed, it works over the top of any rom I have tried, stock included. Just be prepared to use fix permissions, and reinstall apps from the market if certain apps are acting funny.

Get an error trying to download certain apps other than that it works fine

Hmmmm i am getting vending process crash trying to update or install apps, anyone else? =\
That didn't work, bloody hell!!!! My phone was running so well, I guess I will have to reflash the rom ::weeps::
Be cautious un-installing apps using titanium.

Make sure you place the apk in the system/apps using something like root explorer.
no problems here, just installed it as a market update, no pushing req'ed.
its interesting to me that some are getting issues with app installs on this ver?
it Does seem to break a feature or two with TB (from what ppl are saying, out there, on the internets), the dev has been alerted, and I would expect an update soon. as far as Amazon... idk
worked flawlessly for me, but then again, I don't use Amazon, or TB to uninstall appz.

Are you on a ROM other than stock? Aokp based ROMs added permission management in the settings now
pardon noobish question but... how ?
i really dont think i can do that with paranoid :\
Well, you pretty much answered your own question. You have to flash an AOKP ROM to get that feature. If you search the play store for permission manager I'm sure there's a couple apps you can try.

If you use rom manager you can stop any app asking for dubious permission/ s
Stock roms even so long as you are rooted. Good way to save battery as you can turn apps radio access off.some have 5,6,...radio's....

i think i've found a good solution
im trying AFWall+ free on google play or dropbox apk here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1957231
just installed and tested something, seems to work, it's only a firewall, so i can't deny all permissions, but i think is enough for me.
i gave a look at some apps on google play but according to some comments they may not work sometimes so...
btw thx you all for help

Can't Install an "incompatible" app no matter what

Alright, I'm having some trouble installing the NCAA College Football app. I'm running Civato's FlexBeam ROM, and I've tried everything I know--Market Helper app, "All-Play-Apps" xposed module, the app still won't show up in the play store on my Note 8. I have it installed on my Verizon Galaxy Nexus phone, so I know it's not a country incompatibility (US). How do I install this damn app on my Note?
TIA!
take the .apk from your gnex and install it on your note.

Good Lord, it's so simple, I feel stupid for not having thought of this myself. Did this, and it worked like a champ. Thanks!
I'm going to go hang my head in shame now,

[Q] Is there life without Google

This thought started when I decided I'd like to install Cerberus anti theft which has more features than Android Device Manager. Much to my surprise ADM is already on my phone w/ device administrator privileges... and I was never prompted to accept the installation nor approve granting the administrator privilege.
Thinking it best to have only one anti theft app I investigated uninstalling ADM, which it appears is not possible. This brought me to the question what would I be giving up if I flashed a ROM and didn't install a gapps package? I think I could find apk's for apps I use without going through Play.
Somebody smarter than I probably knows or has tried this and could save me a bunch of trial and error effort to find out. Opinions or links would be appreciated.
I suppose installing a gapps package but not logging into my google account would give me the same control over my phone and whatever false sense of anonymity that I think I am getting.

PROBABLY NOT!! I flashed a Kit Kat rom I like, with no gapps the home button and browser didn't work and the quick settings pull down was empty- and possibly more issues. It seems Kit Kat compatible gapps packages have ADM so you're stuck with it. With no Google account on the phone ADM won't work, and of course there's no access to Play.
BTW Cerberus works great, easy to use and install and co-exists with ADM.

I know you could install jellybean Roms with no Gapps, and they would work fine. But that was on 4.1.2

Stumbled on this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1715375 interesting project. For how seamlessly Google integrates into Android and how good it works it hard to justify going elsewhere. Guess that's why Google is so successful.

[Q] uk 3.6.6 are we stuck without google services

Yes, we are stuck. I installed 3.5 AT&T but doesn´t work either. The only thing I could get is Swiftkey
I've been able to successfully install Google play services, account manager and the services framework previously. Managed to get apps such as YouTube, gmail and others to run without crashing. Problem is, I used specific versions and I can't remember which ones they were ? I'm trying to find out what I did right and then I can document it so I won't forget again lol. Bare with me.
Google play store is a no go on 3.6.6 though. Use 1mobile or something instead.

Okidoki, sorted. Get them from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2365224
Then download the latest Google play services from apkmirror.com and update the one you installed from the above link. Reboot and get YouTube and whatever other stuff you need ?

Thanks, but... It didn't work. I tried that this morning and it didn't allow me to install even 1 of the apks
Thanks anyway
does this require root to the device
thanks for any replies , forgot to add this
thanks
The method that lu1gj3s posted above would require rooting, as that's the same method for all Kindle Fire tablets. As for the Fire Phone I assume it's the guaranteed to way to make it work
Has anyone tried Baidu root or something similar? I think I'll give it a try tomorrow and then go through the method of putting Google Play on again

no haven't messed on that much with it yet as I am waiting for a couple of nano sims to arrive for the 2 that I bought. im not that bothered about the play store itself but more about maybe gmail, google chrome and you tube. As I have a nexus 4 now I am pretty used to google being a part of everything i use plus it works well with my chromebook
Easiest way to root is towel root.
For rooting and google services etc. take a look into my guide - follow these steps and your phone should work well.

thanks for info
will try and have a good go when house is quiet and no kids about lol
No root needed to make it work. I got it running without root on 3.6.6 except for the play store.

Install account manager > services framework > play services > reboot > update play services > install youtube/gmail etc
Must say its disappointing.
The main selling point for me is, its dirt cheap and we can run android apps off it
I will be trying to root this little bad boy, anybody had much luck?

Well as you've had people say that the downgrade to 3.5 from 3.6.6 works I guess I'll give it a try
But no harm in trying Baidu Root first
Can you update to 3.6.8? In that version there's no problem with Google Apps
ya same here 3.6.6 no google play
ya im in Ireland got phone for 99pound need google play badly need to update to 3.6.8
If anyone hasn't yet figured out that play store won't work on any version of 3.6.6 haven't even tried to solve the problem by looking it up.
I've got it all working but every now and then get play services have stopped coming up on my phone (if anyone knows how to get rid of that let us know, thanks). I've used blackmart but most of all I use aptoide for all my apps. What I have noticed as well any apps that confirm purchases with play store load up.
I have to say, the fire phone with Google services and gapps is 1 of the best phones out. I think it's great and while they've hacked the price, I'd hope more devs would invest more time in to roms and other goodies. £99 you'd have to be stupid not to get 1.

+1 here..
"google services framework has stopped"
the process "com.google.process.gapps" has stopped
Have tried numerous guides to get this to work on 3.6.6 and none of them work for me, and yes i've looked it up
If not how about being helpful and providing a link or copy and pasting the guide that works?, GoogleFu isnt working out for me.
All the youtube guides and plagiarised articles i can find all reference the same method that doesn't work out.
Alternatively they recommend moving them to system apps which you cant do unless you're rooted and that would mean a downgrade to 3.5
