(with the old battery it works without problems) does anyone know whats wrong? will i be able to get my money back? thx

Are you going out in the dark with a flashlight app and then trying to take a picture?
This could cause the two apps to butt heads and/or two request being sent to your hardware flash (in this case, try disabling the camera flash) or is this a purely when I take a pic that requires flash my phone does a shutdown?
There has been some challenges with development on the camera flash (see unofficial cm7 thread in development). What model WFS do you have? (ie A510x) What rom are using? (if you are on a custom rom, you should know; if not reply "stock"). Not sure I can help, but I will answer what I can for you. The battery you bought's info might also be useful.
Now for the battery questions: was the battery marked for Wildfire S in the ad? How many milli amps? Do you still have the original battery? Does the original battery function? Do you experience the same behavior with the original battery?
Since you have spent some money for a new battery, the least you could do is troubleshoot it before writing it off and sending it back. If you answer the above questions, I will see what I can do... I know a bit about batteries, but no promises.

There is something about that flasher light [can cause overheating as well]. Best to go with the original battery and return for now. Perhaps if we find a way to undervolt the flasher [and it becomes generally accepted], you can upgrade the battery again in the future. Sorry couldn't be of more help right now for you though.

Hi everyone! (Sorry the bad english)
I have an HTC S621 (Dash) whit a very weird problem.
Some months ago, the battery has become to discharge very fast. Like From 100% to 0 in 35/40 minutes.
But even whit 100% of charge, if you turn wifi on or make a call, the phone turns off in a few seconds. And when I turn it on again, it show 60% charged.
So, wondering its a battery problem, I bought a new one and unfortunately the same problem still happen.
So, someone have the same problem? Can anyone help me? Tanks a lot!
Not strange infact u would have found threadz with exact same issue if searched? new battery solves it "generally".
I am not sure that I understood what you wanted to say, but:
- I bought a new battery > Not Work
- I've search in the forum, have no found some one with the same problem (The people usually solved your problems changing the battery, not work for me)
- I've originaly used an original ROM from HTC, but I try lots of ROMs (WM5, 6 and 6.1) > not work too.
Tanks!
same problem here, but new battery solved it, this is my fourth battery for my dash since 2007...

Herp derp, if a new battery and different ROM's didn't, it's the actual phone.
Lrn2deduct xD
I have tried something different: I have an old nokia phone and the battery is 3,7V/860Ma. It have almost the same size of the Dash battery, is a little small. Well I put her on Dash and works fine for hours. With Wifi, phone and bluetooth on. I set to never power off the backlight and open an internet radio to test and just works fine. The only problem is the battery metter is not show the real state of the battery. It jump from 90% to 89% and stop. After almost 50m it jumps again to 70%, etc..
I wondering if the phone have a problem to charge the battery only. So I have a new questions:
There will be a problem charge the 860Ma battery on S621 to test? The Original has 960Ma. I fear explosions!
Tanks!

My post meant generally a new battery fixes it to which would have found via search, if not then it's hardware related or you baught a duff battery? "has been known to happen with new battery too" also can be found via search
Would not advise using a battery from another phone full stop.
Sounds like your Dash has had it's last dayz

Yea...
I will try two last things... use the warranty to exchange this battery for a new one to be sure that is not a factory problem on her, and buy a standalone wall charger to recharge the battery without the phone.
I need this phone alive a little more time because he belongs in truth to my wife, (I bought a Kaiser for me a few months) and I will not buy a new one for her this days (sorry honey)...
Smartphones like Dash are cheap on North America and Europe but on Brasil they cost around R$ 500,00 ($270,00) and for now is too much for me
Tanks!

If the Dash cost $270.00; how much was the Kaiser?
yea that surely calls for a new Battery !
just this time try to get a high capacity battery like 2200mA/h or something because the standart one is only 960mA/h I got my 2200mA/h with abt 20 $ on ebay which is very cheap ! and it stays a hell lot of time with wifi Bluetooth on...
Boa sorte
My battery just went was a 2009 one, just gonna order the 1300 battery shall be Goood! you probably killed it via charging USB or overclocking on Kavana Build etc or it just smoked itself, My 2008 Made S621 died after months too, 1300 stock size battery online is a good choice for this phone.
A new batter should fix it but if you get the original type it's going to do the same thing. You need a battery that has been produced more recently than the originals.
Im pretty sure its cause i overclocked.... but i wanted a nice new 1300 maH battery whats 30 bucks lol )
Hi all, my defy's flashlight has been dead.
When I used the UK 3.4.2 froyo, the battery not saving.
Then I flashed to the Chinese froyo via nandroid. I took two photos with the system camera. Found that the flashlight was so dim.
Immediately, I flashed back the UK rom. But used the camera, the LED doesn't light no longer.
Is it the driver problem or LED has been damaged?
I need the flashlight!
HELP ME!
I guess its damaged if you are back to stock and also before it was somehow "dimmed" and now not working. Also check if its not disabled in the camera settings. Good luck!
I think the chinese rom actually kills the flash if you try it to many times. Must be a voltage thing.
Mine is dead to, and that happend the third time on chinese froyo.
Sent from my Defy
I flashed it last time and at the beginning, the camera and the light worked well, and after i tried a few times ,the light didnt work, then i flash back UK2.2,It works again. Good luck!
1 month ago to my flash does not work ... I think it's because of Chinese ROM

I have tried all ROMs
I think that the flashlight problem is not caused by that fix patch.
My defy flashlight also become so dim and weak after flashed to chinese froyo
like krille said its probably a voltage thing.
in a german android forum someone wrote the same, providing "proof" by mentioning, that in china the defy is named ME525 instead of MB525 in europe/us. could be a hint to different hardware.
im not too familiar with LED technology but "killing" the LED with a higher voltage would exclude the possibility to "revive" it by using a different firmware, right?
If the LED has been damaged by too high a voltage, I do not see how any software can make it work again. It would be like saying that a CPU, after being damaged using a software overclocking tool, can be fixed by running a program; It's just not possible.
I thought the same too. Guess for the unfortunate ones like us will be stuck with damaged flash. After all, these tweaking came with early warning of do at your own risk. No one to blame but ourselves
So this would be a good sticky for every non Chinese Defy user.
I mean there are a lot of ROMs outside which use the chinese one as base.
If some one has no clue that it could kill the LED..
This is a bad thing
Yeah a warning and a notice of caution should be mentioned when dealing with the chineses froyo if you use the Flash-LED.
All I can do now (and maybe everyone else with the problem) is to hope the earpiece stops working so I can get it repaired or replaced lol.
As long as you leave no evidence of rooting or flashing your phone when sending it in I guess you could try to get it repaired for just the faulty LED.
Do you dare

Chinese Defy has possibility do connect a Lanyard ...

Doesn't really seem any more deserving that the fixes for the camera, the 3G bands, haptic feedback etc.
If any old guide/fix starts being stickied, this section will quickly become unnavigable.

in fact it does seem more deserving. the problem with the chinese rom is, that it damages your phones hardware. there is no software fix for it, so anyone thinking about flashing chinese 2.2 should be warned that there is a risk of killing his phones LED.
I am using higgsy's method to keep downgradability on my phone, the base is chinese froyo, it has US devtree.sbf and uk rom, over that I installed pay's rom.
Should I remove every bit of chinese froyo or am I ok with my setup?

it work for me when my battery was messed up, you can try flshing latest radio or do a full wipe and flash a rom.
You know that background services drain the battery very fast.
Also keep wifi/mobile data/ bluetooth on only when you use it.
Uninstall any odd-apps-that-require-data connection-and-run-into-background.
Furthermore, try a sense RoM ( the one from my sig for example ) and see how the device behaves then.
For now I cannot suggest more then basic stuff as I don't know exactly what is going on with your device.

Before trying a sense rom, format the phone. Then switch off and charge . Make sure to use a recovery without offmode charging bug. Wait till the red led turns green. Then enter recovery and wipe battery stats. Then unplug charger and switch on the phone. Hope it helps.
Edit: Another suggestion. You said your battery gets full charge in another wildfire. So make a full charge in another wildfire. Then insert the battery in your wildfire and go to recovery and wipe the battery stats. Then power on the phone and check.

Same with my wildfire too stuck on like 70 to 80 never goes 100%. Already tries sense Rom and all other Rom but still facing the issue. When i try to charge in off it stuck and need to take the battery out and than it gonna b start is it a bug of alpha x s off or recovery plz help out this battery issue.
Just read a thread by someone who is experiencing the very same thing on a Stock, Unrooted. S-ON Phone. So I guess it's unrelated to root or anything.

I got the same battery-stuck on stock, unrooted, s-on phone (froyo). Tried to do everything - root, clear battery stat, flash rom (sense, nonsense, stock), downgrade hboot to 0.80, new battery, charging when phone turned off - nothing. Battery keep not charging full and I saw green led a long time ago.

Why don't you take it to a repair shop? Even if you don't give it for repairs, atleast it can possibly help identify the issue?
Hi Defy Friends,
I bought Defy two months back and when i tried to install cynogenmod 7,the screen strucks in CM7 logo and nothing happens..So i tried to replace the stock by RSD but i got error in boot loader saying "Battery Low..Cannot program."..I tried many methods for charging the battery but it fails...Now i am stuck and not able to use my defy at all...
My question is about the warranty..Is it possible to get my defy serviced back to stock by claiming the warranty?
Please help me..I am the beginner...If you have any solution to solve the device problem also you are most welcome...
Thanks in Advance

New to the Desire HD, finally got so p*ssed off with the poor GPS performance on the SGS that I bought a DHD from Fleabay.
Worked fine for a week, genuine seller (checked not blocked etc).
I let the phone run completly flat, now it will not respond to anything. Plug it into the PC and in device manager it shows
QHSUSB_DLOAD with the usual (if no drivers are installed) exclamation mark.
The phone itself doesn't show any sign of life. No LEDs,vibration or sounds. It will not go into recovery mode. It is on Orange (if that makes any difference.
I do have insurance so will send it off if necessary but I wondered if anyone has any ideas?
There seem to be similar posts but only to do with partitioning.
Pull the battery for a minute. Put the battery back in and then put it on the wall charger for a little while. Then try to turn it on again.
Done that, also tried the freezer trick.
Still dead! Checked charger, swapped charger, haven't got a different battery but I can't imagime the battery would die completly, but could be wrong. Won't even switch on with charger connected.
BTW what are the connections for on the battery and bottom covers functions?
I have flashed many different ROMS on the SGS (currently Darkies Exreme edition) is it as easy on the HD?
Many thanks
