Ive been gone for a really long time... so I forgot a few things, ok so maybe a lot....
I want to go from ec05 to EI22 on my epic that I use daily... and want a better stable rom so two questions: -
Whats a good stable EI22 rom?
Do I have to install a new kernel compatible with this modem?
I have had success with Legendary 2.2, it's excellent.

I also highly recommend the ICS theme here:

These as a combo are stable and look amazing.
I believe you will need to update your modem, modem flashing instructions can be found here:

You don't have to update the modem... modems are independent from the roms... and if you install an ei22 custom rom it will come with an ei22 kernel... all of these things can be found by searching the development thread...

Thanks guys I just needed a little nudge in the right direction.. I appreciate it.
Also note that all Epic ROMs are good and stable. Every phone is different so what works for someone may not work for you so questions like "what's the best ROM" don't apply here. You just have to grab one of the top 10 listed in Development, read some of the thread and flash.

The Dev Dropzeroc Tld Me I Should Flash A New Kernel But I Dnt Usually Flash Kernels, Can Someone Help Me Pick The Right One?
Im Trying To Use RC5
let us know what kind of rom it is and you will probably get some more input just trying to help. many of us have opinions we are more than willing to share
I am on RC5 at the moment but have not experienced any boot loops. If you would like to flash a new kernel, ChopSuey is a good one; however, it will break the Beats functionality of the rom. If interested in trying, download the .zip file and flash in recovery. Make sure you nandroid beforehand in case you need to revert the flash. Any additional questions, let me know. Here's a link to the thread with the information:

Freedom Kernel is a geat kernel.... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1192529
Make sure you flash the kernal right after the from to assure you will boot... I believe you are trying to do this because your hboot is not compatible with the anthrax kernal...

Hey everyone, i'm looking for some tips, mainly about CM9, firstly is it worth using over the stock ROM? Secondly I know that at the moment the camera doesn't work on the current build and I really need the camera so does anyone know when that function will be working? Finally, can someone point me in the direction of the CM9 instal guide, I know it's really lazy of me to ask that but Owell. Thanks in advance.

Please refer to: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1576874 for the details
And for your information, now the camera is already working, Stock vs CM9 is GB vs ICS so just think which one do you prefer.
My note 2 will be here on tuesday and i am trying to have everything prepared to flash some roms, i've been reading people mention Perseus kernel but cannot locate the thread. Please if anyone could direct me or post a link to kernel page. Thank you
Edit: Found it, guess I did not search good enough

I suggest that you find the best suitable ROM (for you) and then ask whether perseus kernel works. Also mention what feature in perseus that you are looking for so that people can suggest alternates if perseus doesn't work
Otherwise its an open ended question and its unlikely that you will get the answer that you are loking for.
