Really wanted to flash this ROM but didn't want to lose the hacked hotspot. A co-worker told me he got a free 30 trial, so I thought id try. After hearing "oh no we cant do that" twice, I was transfered third time to Alex.
I was super polite and asked like I probably wouldn't get it. He asked me if I had tried it before and I lied and said no. Long story short, he gave me 3 free months-until March 14.
In my experience, being very polite makes people MUCH more willing to help you.

I can vouch for this as well. I had one of those 3g USB internet things and it was terrible. Half of the time it was unusable. They let me out of my 2 year contract a year early, waived the ETF's and reset that line so I could get this phone at new 2 year price. I killed them with kindness and they took care of me. Actually, Sprint has always been great as far as customer care with me

Why is this a shock or surprise? Have you never worked in customer service?
Everyone should be required to work in a customer service type of job for the first 6 months of their working life. It taught me a lot.
When I was in High-school I became the assistant manager of the place I worked and I'd bend over backwards to help customers who had issues, but were nice. The assholes got little or nothing.
When I worked in a call center the assholes got put on hold while I went pee or ate a snack, and then the call would "drop" LOL, good times.
I only wished it worked the same for me with Charter Cable and Dish Network. I have gotten the run around a few times from them. I have nothing negative to say about Sprint. Never a dropped call, 4g since launch day of the OG Epic and great customer service.

Just received my bill from Sprint today. It has a curious statement below the previous balance. It says Dec 14 Discretionary Sales Credit -$25.00!! The tech that gave me the trial hotspot gave me $25 off my bill as well without telling me- what a pleasant surprise after spending so much $ over the holidays. I wish I could tell his supervisor how great a job he did and how happy I am.

Because I'm under a family's plan who work for sprint they said in my case I can not get any new phone on release date and I have to wait for a month ( really? ) .......so I was like "WTF, why did you guys sell my this $50 gift to use for the Epic 4g Touch?"....they was like...well, the sprint rep who sold you that card should of known when she pull up your account.....I said, yes. She should have..........now i'm stuck with a gift card and no PHONE..........F**K!

I just now spoke to the head of employee admin's boss's boss. She said every new release is like a beta test. If a week from now they hear no complain then it will be available for employee and it's people under ( me ). They doing this to protect us from buying a bad quality phone.
Sounds like you're not on a SERO plan but under a SWAC plan, employees and accounts under them usually have to wait a few days after a new release before they can order, in case stock levels become low after launch. Customers come first, employees second in high demand phones.

I've gone to an autoparts store where the guy knew less about cars than my grandma.
There's no money in customer service so there's no desire to be good at it.

Hmm?
I didn't say that, just that it has gone down hill significantly.
Sprint's representatives can be pretty ridiculous.
I once heard A female manager at a local Sprint store related processing power to data speeds for the Evo.
Something of the nature of "The data is faster on this phone over others because it has a 1 ghz processor"
You could clearly tell she had no clue what a processor was. Much less any relation to data speeds.

I emphatically disagree. I was raised with a solid work ethic of doing your best no matter what job you have. I have a bachelors in Finance but work in crappy C.S making pay I'm ashamed to even say, but do I do it half-arsed, no.

Those personality tests are not that hard... The hardest ones are for at&t and best buy.. All you do is answer as honest as possible.. Most people say answer with "strongly agree" or "strongly disagree" but some of the questions are borderline and answering like a machine from irobot *(the ones that are 3 law "safe") will send a flag to the employer... And they will know if your being honest or not
But yes I agree, I commit my self to my job and try to learn something new every day (I suffer from sever ADD) so anything to keep me active weather its improving or learning helps... Rather than doing a half ass job and slacking off for 8 hours
*disregard the analogy if you never seen irobot

Last night, my phone screen cracked. I was devastated and the hubby was furious!!!! I called Amazon wireless who I got the phones from late November and they were amazing to me and they are overnighting me a new phone. Sucks to have to root and all that all over again.
Just wanted yall to know that Amazon has really great customer service. They also gave me their black friday deal even though I bought the phones a week before so I got mine for free, and now another one, for free.
This is the first i'm hearing of Amazon wireless. Loll

I am so glad I didn't go through the insurance hassle with sprint. How weird is it that out of all the employees I get her twice and she remember so much about me. Crazy.

If you cancel your contract early they tack another $250 on top the carriers etf and automatically bill it to the payment method you used to purchase your device. My Captivate cost $99.99 then a $350 etf and $250 to Amazon when I left At&t. So I ended up paying $700 for a $500 phone because of a nasty breakup. Don't use discount online services if you intend to leave your carrier early.

They technically do not have the ability to charge you anything in relation to your Sprint account. They can bill you for the remainder of the phone cost if you haven't paid enough months to cover it, but not for terminating your contract. Only your carrier can reserve that right as you are in no contractual obligation to Amazon.

I just had a 30 minute call with a rep questioning why my Sprint-2-Home minutes were being clearly charged against my Anytime minutes. The rep had no reasonable answer of why it was happening, all they kept repeating was "wait until the end of your billing cycle and call back".What a bunch of BS in passing the buck. She got low marks on the after-call survey.
I think that everything that could be said has been said in here.

Hey question for all you under sprints employ. I am looking into a position at a local sprint store they are looking to fill. Sales/tech rep or whatever. I was wondering if any sprint guys would give me some info. Do you enjoy working for sprint? How is the pay? Whats an average paycheck between hourly and commission? How do they treat you? Is it hard to go to shool while working there? (Im in college) I have a fairly stable job right now but it doesn't pay very well and I hate it. The last time I was in the sprint store I knew twice as much about phones as the one guy and was helping customers around me. I think I would thoroughly enjoy it but am looking for the inside scoop...

This is an indirect store so sprint does not own it. We are like a liaison between customers and sprint. I'm treated very well and believe it or not, sprint does a nice job answering questions I have about sales, tech, markets or anything. I make 9 an hr plus com. And sprint has the my rewards program as an incentive.

Sprint tech is an awesome job, if you know what you are doing. Also, the clientele of each particular store greatly affects how content you are in the job. I worked at an indirect dealer for many years. I loved it at one location, survived at another, and finally told the populace to stick their phones up their asses at the last one.
Most of the time people are cool, but other times you have ignorant assholes who can't understand how dropping their phones in a lake, IS THEIR FAULT. Sprint doesn't owe you the world because you pay for a service millions of others do.
Good luck in your endeavor, the only thing I can advise you, is to treat every person the way you would expect to be treated.

I really do love it. Could the pay be better? Hell yes. But the benefits are great. Do I feel under appreciated as a tech? Of course. But silently knowing you keep the wheels moving is gratifying. The only part that gets on my nerves is inventory. Techs are solely responsible for that, and it's just tedious. But the actual repair aspect is cake.
The ability to get free phones, whether it be through the advocate program or from the OEMs holding events where they give them away, is the best part, if you're a geek like me. I got my E4GT for free 3 months into the job, so I was pretty much hooked after that lol.

Always remember - honesty is the key to success (and happiness in my experience). Honesty with yourself above all else. Apply this to your work & personal life, and you will succeed. Congrats on the new employment!
Do you guys find there is a lot of fluctuation month to month of your commission numbers?

Very much so depending on surveys. We are graded as a whole, so if one guy gets a bad survey there goes commission out of everyone's pocket

Then he does not need to be manager! That tech depending pin how good he or she is might make a difference in return customers. My local repair center has a great tech and lousy customer service.
