Well, I flashed MIUI ROM while on the EL13 modem and it was working just fine, my guess is that it will work fine as well on the Cyanogenmod ROM too

FYI, this is a totally legit thing to post in Bubby's CM thread (it does not need to go in Q&A)
While no one but developers should START threads in that section, questions about a specific Rom are totally legitimate to put IN a rom's thread.

CM6 9/12 and 9/13 result in reboot cycle

How come I'm running the 9/5 nightly and now when I want to flash the 9/12 or 9/13 nightly I am getting a reboot loop without it actually booting up. Luckily I have a nandroid backup because if I didn't I would be screwed. I'd like to update to a newer nightly but I have no way of doing it with these constant reboots. Can anyone suggest something to me? I've tried all the wipes before updating and nothing is helping. I'm running RA anon 1.7, no modified kernel or anything like that. Newest radio and newest PRI/PRL.
Again, as long as I restore my nandroid everything runs like cake but I do like to update my OS and this issue is bothering me.
Thanks!

Thank you, I should also add that I'm well aware that others are running these roms without problems. I would just like to figure out what my issue is and how to fix it. Can anyone provide suggestions so I can do that?

i as you are, am experiencing the same issue. Now... out of curiosity can you flash the 9/6 nightly fine? that was the last nightly i could use that booted, everything else just bootsplash loops.

also this needs to be in the Q&A section

I haven't tried it but I would wager yes. It seems as though 9/6+ contains a new kernel that our phones don't like

I think it's a bigger issue than just being a nightly if the kernel is that crazy for EVERY nightly from 9/6+
No issues here with 9/11-9/13, other than my YouTube app when using v7.6 Turbo? Which I still need to figure out.
granted its something kernel related, using snap, i can then use the latest nightlies... only problem is, i dont want snap >_> i want cm kernel, oh well cant have it all am i rite? lol.
ill try again next week's nightly.

Hmmm...
Wonder if we could take that ROM, change the updater-script to match our mounting points....then we just need a kernel....
Which we have one kernel already made. Not sure if it would work though.
If anyone would help set up a build environment that would work for our kernels and roms then I will gladly help and start learning.

I think we'd need a stock CM9 based kernel though. If I understand correctly.

Well, it shouldn't take too long. It may be possible to build a CM9 Kernel for our phones using parts of the stock kernel that we have access to.
Once the JB source is released, an S3 port might actually be viable. Otherwise it's essentially just flashing a gnex image and praying something/anything works.

a CM9 kernel shouldn't be needed, just a modded kernel for our specific phone from what i believe.
We know this, but it's more of an experiment. Also, it helps work out anything we may need to do early on with the modules and drivers

Why not take this ROM, change the updater-script for our mount points, remove the flashing of the boot.img, flash ROM then flash the kernel Roman release?
Think that would work?

It could, in theory. But we would need to work on the modules for anything to work. Could you post our mount points?
why does it have to be a cm9 kernel?
to be completely honest, as soon as we get a cm9 alpha, we will see some worth while stuff! but until then. TouchWiz it iz. We will have team kang's AOKP in no time im sure. i cant wait to see wuts to come. especially since this phone is at all the major carriers and they are all basically exactly the same! should be epic.

yea i think once one of the other major carriers (or ares) get cm9 then we will see some awesome stuff for everyones phone!
I think that the only thing that makes them different is the radios in the phone

Help with flashing CM9 or CM10

Okay, so as you may see I'm a new member. I just recently read up on the CM9 and CM10 thread. and i see that you have to flash a radio in order for it to work properly. So when i went to download the radio on this guide ---> http://www.teamchopsticks.org/p/cm10-install-guide.html it said that the file wasnt available. So can anyone please hand me the radio that was provided? Im using T-mobile by the way.. Also, can i just flash another radio like this one ----> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1842207 does it matter? Thanks in advance.

Best AOSP Rom?

Hi, I am not new to rooting and custom ROMs but it has been a while and the forum has so many roms that it is hard to decide which is the most stable.
Would you guys please recommend to me the best/most stable/most customizable(cyanogen) AOSP rom for this phone? Basically I'd want the best CM9 rom and hopefully CM10 once its stable.
Thanks

Interesting.. so thats in the original development section, whats the difference between original and android development?
Also, I'm a little lost on the whole recovery thing... can someone please explain it to me and how I can get the safe clockwork for my s2 so I can flash the CM9 you guys posted? My baseband is the FH13
Edit: What do you guys think about AOKP? I loved it when i had my evo... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1514665
Can I follow the simple steps in that post? Any requirements beforehand?
I have not seen a consistent explanation about the difference between the Android and original development forums.
I have not tried AOKP. That particular version you linked is no longer being developed. There is a newer Jelly Bean build here:

1. I believe the difference between the to sections is that Original development is for AOSP based roms while android development is for roms based of stock or leaked firmware. That being said i dont think that many people understand that when they post and it has been kind of a Cluster f.
2. Are you currently on the OTA? you will need to odin a kernel that has a working recovery with it. If youre going to another rom right away it may be easiest to odin EL26 cwm, then load into recovery and flash because this will install the kernel/recovery packaged in the rom.
3. Ive used AOKP some and its pretty nice but i am one that likes to stay with a rom that still has activity. That way if i have problem there may be a chance that it is going to get fixed. But if you are ok with a few problems here and there go ahead and test out CM10 or sbrissens AOSP.

1. Yeah I was going towards that conclusion but I dont think people understand it either.
2. I already flashed CM9. I used the mobile odin method in this link: http://e4gtcm.blogspot.com/p/cm9-install-guide.html
I flashed the kernel and I got stuck on recovery and couldnt get back to my regular rom. I was just wanting to get a recovery then I mounted the storage and put CM9 and gapps and flashed away. Now im running CM9 and its flawless.
3. Can you link me sbrissens AOSP? Thanks!

I really like the ability to use the HTC logo as a button, but the only way i know how to do this is the slim bean rom. So my question is, anyway to get this function on a sense based rom? All info would be greatly appreciated. thanks

Woah there!!!!!
OP DO NOT FLASH THOSE KERNELS!
You could brick!
Never flash anything that was not made specifically for your device. If you bother to read the first post in most of those threads they specifically say that Verizon and sprint are not supported.
Please do not post links to potential harmful threads.
We will have custom kernels as soon as HTC releases kernel source for our device. If you can't wait that long then a few of the AOSP ROMs have the HTC logo working as a button.
definitly not flashing any of those haha.
but thank you both for the responses
I'm sorry. didn't notice that. I flashed the aosp one on mine...work pretty well.

None of those kernels were made for our device and could potentially break stuff now that we are s-off.

That is the kernel I using on cm10.2. of course, I'm on verizon.
VanirAOSP uses a custom kernel that allows the HTC Logo to be used as a sleep/wake button.
