Does anyone have this app they could try on their Gnex? I have it for my Xoom, but since it says for 3.1 and up, I was wondering if it would work on ICS. I know it's formatted for tablets, but it would be nice to have a good editing app other than the crappy photoshop mobile version.
I have this app on my XOOM and many other adobe touch apps, i can't download this app on my nexus as it's not compatible
It works just fine if you can manage to install it without going through the market.

I have never used it, but would love to give it a try. That is if anyone has the apk
anyone try the photoshop express app on the gnex? mine opens and the app literally only fills 1/4 of the screen. it appears that the entire app is shrunk down
Yes, it works if you extract the apk from your Xoom and install it on your nexus.. just tried it, works great aside from the fact that the UI was designed for tablets and thus is very very small on our nexus screens...
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus
Yeah it'll work if you extract the APK, but it really doesn't look good.
honestly Photoshop touch should only be used on tablets. anything less than 7" makes it almost useless, IMO anyway.

I have one reserved to pick up in my local store now but not sure if its worth it when I got a Galaxy S2 and a iPhone 4S.
The screen is what interests me mostly but no idea how better that is compared to the two phones I have and heard about hardly any apps work on ICS yet e.g Facebook and so on.
Anyone who owns one would you say its worth it or stick to the two phones I have?

I cant talk for anyone else but myself in this regard. I have had my GN for about 24 hours now and have to say its the most amazing phone I have ever owned. Colours are rich and vibrant. Camera is fast as hell and yet still manages to focus. 5MP is more than enough for a camera, if I want to take professional shots then I will take my 16MP DSLR out but the majority of shots taken with phones are for social networking sites which resizes and compresses the image anyway so it doesnt matter. Speed is smooth as running a hot knife through butter and pretty much every program that I had running on Gingerbread works on this phone. The Tegra2 optimised games obviously wont work (apart from Guerilla Bob which works great) but I think I have installed about 60 apps and games since yesterday and only 3 or 4 havent worked. Facebook and Skype both work on my phone, even video calling works .
The main problems so far are satnavs (closes or stays black) and video players. I will try a few more satnavs and report back. Video players either stop running or wont install but that will soon be sorted so I have no worrys there.
I havent noticed any of the software problems that people are reporting but with a Nexus you HAVE TO REMEMBER that it is the first phone to have the latest software and its inevitable that there will be a few bugs to start with. Thats what updates are for and they will be ironed out soon enough. Developers will quickly update there apps for compatability with ICS and new apps will be made to enhance this beautiful screen.
If you have any more questions please ask away but I would definitely recommend getting it
Mark.

Well as I have only had the phone a day I cant comment about battery life at all as its been on charge pretty much the whole time. I like to give new phones a good days charge to make sure its maximum benefit from the first charge. Will know more about that after about a week when it starts to settle down into normal life.
The screen IS simply amazing. Its beautifully sharp especially when playing back 720p movies and its got the same coating on as the iphone to resist finger prints so it doesnt get that dirty look as quickly as other phones.
Mark.

Hi Mark, how is the GPS fix time and accuracy compared to, e.g., your HD2? I've heard Samsung quite suck at the GPS department. Does this barometer sensor really helps improving the GPS fix speed like Google developers explained? Thanks.
Thanks mark that is good to know. I would like to switch my gs2 for nexus. Is nexus as smooth in web browsing and overall as gs2?
Could you mesure gps precision with gps test app?
Thanks.

The screens awesome, much better than the retina display IMO as its bigger with equivalent resolution and much better blacks because of the SAMOLED. Having to post on my sister-in-laws iPad as my nephews playing shadowrun on it and I can't get him off it.
Mark thank you and I took the plunge and picked one up.
Firstly amazing, the screen is mind blowing playing HD videos for a phone. Secondly ICS is miles ahead of Gingerbread. Can't speak highly enough of it experience wise so far.
Google nailed it with ICS.

I'm starting to get disappointed with the Nexus & I haven't bagged myself one yet.
No FM Radio & No capabilities to use one
No SD Card

To watch my video click Here
I guess many of you already know about TSF Shell - "a unique graphical user interface" for android
Well... in this case "unique" is defiantly an appropriate word
I know about TSF for about 2 years i think... but the progress they made (and the progress to android 4.2) has made a big difference to my opinion.
Except from having one of the most beautiful UI, it has many more capabilities that makes it one of the best alternatives for the android launcher and more.
The last time i tried it was many versions ago (both Android and TSF) and trying it after a long time using only the Stock launcher (and on the Nexus 4 ) was amazing.
So as i mentioned this video is mostly for the Nexus 4 users, so you will know how it works
The video was recorded with about 40fps... keep in mind it runs smoothly on the device then it seems at the video
Here is the TSF running on my Nexus 4
PlayStore
Isn't there another version that is a lot customisation?
edit: I think this is the one: Yandex.Shell
I'm pretty sure the makers of Yandex.Shell purchased the company that made TSF
Nice, wich app did u use to record it?

Don't know about the purchase but this is a different App.
Also notice it is incompatible with the Nexus 4,7 and TSF shell can run on both.
Hello,
I am considering buy one of this device because I played one at the AT&T store and I am very impressed with the screen and its functions. I want to know if it is compatible with wireless charging and is it available at best buy?
One thing when I tried to play the video on the desktop and when I tried to scroll the front pages it showed some lags, why is that? I don't know if the device is mess up since its the demo phone.
Thanks!

Yes, some people see and report some lags http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2279454 especially if using QSlide apps. Maybe it's sort of bad LG optimization, but we wait for 4.2 release soon and maybe lags will be optimized. Anyway I for one don't notice them
Thank you so much for the comments! Much appreciated. I am very considering get the optimus g pro because the screen is the most important to me. I browse a lot, watch movies and read forums a lot. I know the note 3 is coming out but the optimus sounds like its meeting my needs the best and for good price. Lot of people seem to love their optimus.
Again thanks for your comments!

Hello people,
I am currently searching for the best tablet around. All it has to be is some good specs, nice resolution and good value.
I would love to get an ipad mini retina ... but in my country its so expensive. So, my next option seems to be the LG G Pad 8.3 because of its strong specs and mostly nice screen size and resolution.
My question is... will any devs work on it? I would love extra support and some custom stuff to play with.
CM Rom for it would be lovely but it seems like a dream.

Yeah, a Dev just picked up one and said he is going to be working on a CM11 port for this device. I heard it was the dev or one of the devs that worked on the HP Touchpad. We have TWRP and CWM ready to roll when it hits.
btw questions go in the Q and A section (for future reference )

So, yeah I saw the dev, he seems pretty good and thats nice. It such a pitty if that tablet will not have xda support.
I don't see any great disadvantages with it... just the price.. but still its not that bad.

My bad.. I meant support from xda developers by the means that some devs will make custom ROMS etc..
Also, I would like to see more people in this forum section exchanging ideas and helping each other to solve any kind of issues.
My personal opinion is that you should get a Nexus 7 because they get the best support. The LG is not bad but the Nexus devices always get the best dev support as they are considered dev devices.
Phone: Rooted Galaxy S3 T-999 running unofficial Cyanogenmod 11
Tablet: Rooted Nexus 7 2013 running Stock Android 4.4

I wouldn't cal a 5 inch screen small, but I currently have a Galaxy S3 and a Nexus 7, but hey, I prefer the portability, so all I need is 7 inches, and I can use a keyboard and mouse for things that need more accuracy, but I have never been a fan of phablets or iPad size tablets.....

You need a keyboard on n7?
If dev support and long-time updateability are important to you, buy ONLY devices which sell very well and where development is already in full swing.
All else is futile.
Devices which sell only smaller numbers are quickly not getting manufacturer updates anymore, and the probability that there's a dev who has the device is very low.
I'm usually absolutely not the kind of guy who does what all people do - on the contrary, I despise those "sheep". But with Android devices, this is the way to go, period.

Shhh, don't tell anyone that. Even if it works great (which it does), people will want to use anything other than stock just to be different. Using stock apps make some people here feel like they aren't part of the in crowd. It's actually pretty funny how far some people will go to do anything other than stock just to do it without even knowing why.
Stupid noob question which I should know the answer to: does the Samsung equalizer affect all apps across the board? Will it change the output from Youtube for example? I really want a native equalizer.
