[Q] Help needed.. black screen - G2 and Desire Z Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Well i rooted my g2 today, and i was trying to add a new splash screen, i was using Splash-Screen-Creator-v0.02-Beta. I ran everything and after I restarted my phone it starts with a black screen with a multi colored bar ontop, then proceeds to go to the boot animation. I have tried factory formats, formating it in general and even reinstalling ROMs but still it is there, and i am not sure how to get rid of it.

With abd remove the splashscreen creator. Then flash your rom again.

were would i have to look to find it? because i never had to put in a specific location for the splash screen creator.

Ok well i am pretty stuck, i have no idea where to go. I have deleted anything that i found that i may have put in there but it is still there. any ideas on how to fix it?

Maybe you accidentally replaced the splash screen with a black picture with coloured bar?
You should maybe try flash a new splash screen, using a different method (maybe fastboot if you have eng hboot, or a PC10IMG)

Thanks, that worked, it was my way of making it a .img file that was messing it up. I just dl'd one and it worked fine. Dont know why i kept trying my own haha

[HELP]Bricked mytouch?

I was running CM7 RC2. After rebooting my phone, the phone wouldnt load anymore. After it shows the MyTouch3g Screen it just goes blank instead of loading the CM7 Boot Splash pic thing. I tried going into recovery but it goes blank too. I have S-On if that matters. Help?
Edit: I tried flashing ESPRIMG again but when I get to the main screen, it freezes and I cant do anything.
more details are needed, but i dont think its bricked as long as you still have your bootloader

What kind of details do you need?
HBOOT Screen info:
ESPRESSO PVT SHIP S-ON
HBOOT-0.52.0000
MICROP-0620
TOUCH PANEL-SYNT0102
RADIO-7.08.35.04S
If I try to get into Recovery it just reboots but goes into a blank screen instead of going to the red triangle thing. If I boot up phone normally, it just shows the tmobile mytouch screen then it goes blank and doesnt show when the phone and pictures come out then I lock it and unlock it and then the main screen shows. If i try to slide down, nothing happens since its like frozen. But if I lock and unlock again, it says do you want to restore backup from SD card? I would naturally do it but when I try to touch it, its like frozen again.
Help please :[.
Edit: Oh and most ESPRIMG's I use, it says that like its an older version or something so I can't reflash it. If I do find a working one, nothing changes.
thats normal that the image says its an older version. it should ask you if you if you want to update after it does the image check. does it do that? if so, let it update. that will restore the original 2.1 build

No, it just says that its an older version and then asks if I want to reboot. Nothing about updating.
Edit: I already flashed a esprimg like yesterday and it's the original 2.1 build. But I can't seem to load the recovery and if you read my post above "If I boot up phone normally, it just shows the tmobile mytouch screen then it goes blank and doesnt show when the phone and pictures come out then I lock it and unlock it and then the main screen shows. Evo Reboots Infinitely After Only Loading White Screen

After 20 minutes after updating to the latest MIUI, my Evo suddenly restarted. It got the white screen, but before loading any further, it restarted to the white screen and repeated the whole process infinitely. The only way to stop it is to do a battery pull.
I have tried wiping the data, but the issue is still there. After selecting the option to boot into recovery, the phone does the exact same thing (cycling the white boot screen). I even tried updating the recovery with the zip file, but that problem is still there.
Does anyone know what's wrong with my evo?

Uh oh! Oh no! Read that thread. Everything you could possibly try is in that thread, it went 27 pages!!, and is still active. There was no solution found, but if something might work for you, it will be in that thread, I promise.
Hopefully an ruu will work for you.
I sincerely wish you luck.

[Q] Need help please!!!

I am running htc clays super cm7 v 2.3 on my g2. everything has been working beautifully. I recently downloaded bootflash lite to change my splash screen. And after I used it and was not happy with it, I uninstalled it (bootflash lite), I reapplied the old splash screen i had before through bootloader. And ever since then I have been getting random reboots. Once it gets past the splash screen it gets stuck on my bootanimation and will not pass unless I pull the battery and restore my backup through recovery. Phone will work for a few minutes afterwards then will do the same thing. Does this have something to do with bootflash lite? where are the splash screens installed when you use it, if i can find it with root explorer and delete it will that help? Is there anyway to fix this?
Seems to reboot after I return back to stock sms
Well if it all happened after you changed boot animation, maybe reflash your nandroid back up of that rom or reflash a fresh rom..bet the problem goes away

Hi, I am the developer of BootFlash. BootFlash installs the splash screen to a partition on your internal memory. This partition is located at /dev/block/mmcblk0p19. I haven't heard of this happening as a result of BootFlash. I have used the app countless times on my phone and have never had a problem. This partition is also known as splash1 when using fastboot.

[Q] Splash screen stuck after lcd replacement

So Today I changed my gfs lcd and the digitizer. Installed it fine, I make sure all the ribbons are properly connected and close up the phone. The phone turns on and shows the splash screen, seems like it's booting. I decide to use the latest RUU and see if that helps. A few reboots later i on the newest hboot, thing is it keeps happening, except now i can hear it boot (sprint boot anim). I battery pull a few times and I get it to boot. Touch screen works fine and all, tick Development and keep awake (because once it slept it wouldnt turn on again), mind you adb works while the splash is displayed and after the boot anim, adb also works when the screen is turned off and it wont wake up.
I just want a second opinion on if i should get another lcd screen. The one I installed didnt have the best reviews.
Thanks.
ps: i dont post alot because i know how to search, but i havent found anything on this exact issue.
Im slightly confused... so does it boot? or not? I am trying to make sense of what you wrote...
Try clearing the storage in hboot something may have corrupted during the process...
well it does boot you can hear the sprint boot animation, and i can also adb into it. getting into the bootloader works fine, booting into recovery or regular booting is the problem. Just displays the splash screen, but as I said I think it does boot into recovery/system because I have adb access.
edit: i just turned it on and it booted, but once put it to sleep the screen wont turn back on.
If it's not getting pay the splash something is stalling it... Did you try to run a logcat from adb? Do that and look for errors.

[Q] Device does not boot after changing back cover

Hi,
so here's another frustrated user whose dhd doesn't boot after he's been messing around with it.
I ordered a now back cover because the camera glass was broken. Disassembly went just fine. After putting the pieces together, I tried to boot the phone.
Now at this stage, the flash cover, the battery cover (that little thing on the left side) and this other lid that goes over the part where the SIM and SD cards go ARE still not attached. Also the screws aren't in yet.
I put the battery in and started the phone. And it booted perfectly! I was pretty relieved, then put in the screws, plugged in all the remaining parts and tried to boot again - nothing. I see the bootscreens - first the white HTC logo and then the android boot screen. I have a custom rom (jelly time) installed and when you boot it, you can see the jellytime logo flashing before it goes into home screen. It flashes allright but at some point it just stops and nothing happens.
I can go to bootloader, tried a full wipe and reflashed the rom. Then it goes to the "updating apps"-screen (don't know the actual text in english, as my screen language is german). After this it says something like "starting apps". And that's where nothing happens. The little circle keeps on turning forever but it never actually goes into the system.
Have I finally managed to brick my phone or is there anything I could try?
EDIT: I should maybe add, that when the boot screen animation stops, the orange LED starts flashing.
I'd really appreciate any help! Thanks!
Can you try clean wipe and installing the rom again.

I did that multiple times. The problem is solved now. After disassembling the device and putting it back together then doing a full wipe everything works again.
Can't say what exactly the problem was, but - thank god - it's gone now!
