As the title suggests I cannot install the Samsung MTP Windows 7 update. I also get a message stating that the driver for the Nexus did not install correctly. Obviously, this means that I cannot see the phone as a device within My Computer and therefore I cannot transfer files on to the phone.
I only install Windows 7 about 6 weeks ago so I doubt the Windows install is corrupted.
Other than this slight issue I have to say that I LOVE this phone.
Any help much appreciated!
Error details below:
Windows error code 800F020B
Samsung Electronis Co., Ltd - Other hardware - SAMSUNG Mobile MTP Device
Status: Failed

I thought this was the right forum for this question as it is a Galaxy Nexus?!
Remove all the samsung USB driver's and regulair drivers you allready have installed.
than update your windows 7 to latest update.
reboot.
and try again.
let us know if that helped.

Thank you for the advice. I will try that out this evening and will report back...
any update on this?
found this thread by google as i had the same problem. if anyone is still interested, it got it fixed by installing the update while the nexus was connected.

Thanks for posting this information. IMO, leaving the device plugged in is counterintuitive when updating that but it does resolve the problem.
What I'd suggest is as mentioned before, through control remove any and all drivers you have installed and then try the universal drivers 0.7 in the Dev section. I can confirm they work a treat on windows 7. One sec and I'll get a link for you
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1379875
So when you plug your phone in windows may try and auto install the drivers, can cell windows for doing anything and then manually direct it to look for where ever you put the universal one. This will work in both adb mode (phone on) and fast boot mode and will also work using a tool kit.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus
Thank you!

I was searching the web and joined this forum simply to say thank you for this information. I do not have a Samsung Nexus, but a Galaxy Reverb and the suggestion you gave worked perfectly on mine as well.

So I can connect bluetooth to my laptop to a degree, in fact it worked just fine at first, then it stopped working and there's a yellow triangle on my device under windows devices, and when I do trouble shoot it says basically bluetooth peripherals not installed. I've read about going into device manager and installed all the yellow triangle bluetooth peripherals but not all of them are compatible with my phone. And now the samsung bluetooth peripheral isn't even there! I tried looking in HP drivers for anything bluetooth and currently downloading and installing everything I can, but the fact it specifically said peripheral makes me think it's something else I need to download, I just have no clue! I'm really baffled here, so if anyone has had a similar problem and figured it out please offer me some assistance. Thank you in advance.

I attempted to send you a pm but it does not seem to work for me. I went to a site called blog dot joelvincent dot com. Try searching on there for "Solved bluetooth peripheral device driver." this works for windows vista and 7. I found if you follow the 7 steps it will work completely. just remember to download Windows Mobile Device Center. He uses the drivers for that program to fix the issues with the phone.
If need more help I'd be happy to type out the entire procedure. Let me know.
I followed the link and turns out micosofts page to download the windows 7 one is down.... only vista up... makes one go hmmmm but at least I know what to google for, thanks a lot. I'll report back if I finally get it to work

I am having issues getting my AT&T Galaxy S3 with CM 10 to connect to my PC so I can view it in Windows Explorer. Here is what I have tried doing:
Tried three different cables that worked previously
Tried different PC/laptops with the same OS, Win7 64bit
Re-install Samsung drivers
Clean flash CM10
Restore back to stock TW
Did a battery pull
I am just at a loss on what to do to get it to work. My computers don't see the phone in Device Manager, but will charge the phone. Does anyone have any other suggestions? Should I contact AT&T or Samsung to get a replacement?
Holy ****. This just started happening to me too. Tried everything!
I'm on tasks aokp with w7. I also tried my sisters mac and my homies windows 7 computer. Nothing works. Tried different cables as well. all it does is it charges!

I've seen a few others in the CM10 thread saying the same thing. The second poster here said he is having the issue to but on AOKP, which is built off of CM10. I just wonder if it's the port on the phone? I went back to stock to try it yesterday and still have the issue, so it makes me think that its either the port or something on Windows 7. But I would think if it was the port, then it wouldn't charge.
I am on AOKP on 10/28 build with Tasks thread.
This issue wasn't there last time i checked about 4 or 5 builds ago (since i don't plug my phone in that often).
I'm about to install Windows 8 on my computer, lets see what that does xD

I don't plug mine in that often either, only to upload my backup of my phone to my Google Drive account, which I do weekly. Its worked on my PC before, so maybe its a hardware issue.

I was trying to see was it a global issue with CM10, but since you're on the same build as I am, with me having no issues, I know it can fixed... No need to install Windows 8...
Try this:
Uninstall all Drivers, and Kies if installed
Reboot
Install these drivers
Reboot
Place your phone into Download Mode and open ODIN
Hook up
See if at least those drivers will install
If they do, unhook your phone, boot it up normally, and hook it back up

Also try a different USB port for those steps, and make sure it's the stock cable... Saw it mentioned it was, but I don't know if it was you that said it was...
When I put the phone in Download mode, Windows see's it, and installed its Drivers. I unhooked it, rebooted my phone, waited until it was done, plugged it in and I get nothing. Odin doesn't see it but does in Download mode. Any ideas?
Device Manager see's the phone in Download mode.

No it doesn't. I am making a nandroid backup right now. I think I am gonna Odin flash it back to stock/unroot and see if it will work there. Then if it does I will root again and clean flash CM10 and not restore my data.

Good evening everyone,
A little something about me, I have no freaking idea how to do all this. I only have one reason for wanting to root my phone. The camera shutter is annoying the **** out of me. It seriously keeps me from taking photos because the annoying shutter. I can't take photos at weddings, selfies, at the bakeshop! lol But seriously, the shutter is killing me. The camera is the main reason I got this phone and it's me keeping me from using it.
Please don't suggest using the video while taking photos because that's just inconvenient and camera apps are not as good the camera on the phone.
I have a MAC OS X version 10.6.8 . I tried to read the instructions here and it makes me want to pull my hair because I don't understand the jargons used. From what I have come up with so far is that I can't root my phone on mac. I have the latest version of android.
I have two questions.
1. Can I root my s3 on MAC?
2. If not, can I root it if I buy Windows 7 for my laptop?
Thanks in advance,
Patsy
For future tinkering and such (flashing, etc), i would recommend just installing Windows on your Mac. Case in point, I have my main PC, a Mac Mini running Windows 7 via VMWare Fusion (even though i also have an HP Media Centre DEC with Windows 7 as well). I've always been a Mac user and always rooted my devices via Windows, it's just more convenient and less of a hassle.
BootCamp it.
It's better than VM when working with devices in "download" mode.
App/Utilities/BootCamp
Get a 32bits version of Windows. WinXP will work Ok.
Use this method to root the phone.
Go to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=33460982
and READ everything.
After you root your phone go to Play Store search for Goo.Im. After installed open it and press the menu button, select Install OpenRecovery.
Then you are good to install a custom ROM.
It can't take longer than 10 minutes.(don't count the Windows installation)

I back this statement 100%
I use VMwares and it was a PITA to root using it. Bootcamp works Much More efficently and you dont have as many odd issues connecting your phone. However you CAN do it using a virtual machine.
Unfortunately there is no solution to root the sprint GS3 using a mac. you HAVE to use a Windows pc...

Request: LG G3 F460 file. Phone is screwed up after reseting the phone. "rooted"
Hey guys I need help and I think you are the only people that can help me.
I have the Korean version of the LG G3 cat 6 460s. I rooted the phone using stump root and everything is fine.
today I decided to reset the phone and I did. now every time I power on the phone it prompt me for the initial setup of the phone, the volume up and down keys no longer works, notification doesn't work. the home button icon doesn't even work " only back button on the screen lol "
I tried to do hard reset by turning off the phone and holding the power and volume down button method but it doesn't work.
the only method I believe or I think I have a chance is with flash tool. but I really need the files required for this model. where can I get them.
is their an LG official pc suit for this model I can download from LG directly ? am I $%#ed ?
please help me in this I don't want an expensive paperweight phone
Lgbbs.net. did you check there?
This shouldn't be in development.
I honestly do not know where this should be in. but I figured this section is where most tech people who are into flashing roms will be available and I need help. sorry if it this is in the wrong section.
I did look into that site. they are charging 800 credits for it and each 50 credit is like 1$. so that file is 16$.
its not much and I will go for it if I do not have any alternative.
please guys let me know if there is any
also. which one do I need ? KDZ or TOT ?
I got the files. If you have some place to upload them I can share them to you (and everyone). Happened exactly the same to me.

Sorry, just got that you have the "other devices" so forget about the multimedia thing I said. You have to change the drivers (normally one of them is from microsoft) to the ones from LG (by updating manually and finding the inf in you HD manually). Windows will say the driver is not compatible but you can ignore that.

Tell me if you have any trouble.
After the whole process you will end with a blue or green screen (dont remember), dont worry, just reboot and you will be back on stock.

Yes, I am having the exact same issue. Have spent a long time searching to see if there's a solution but your post is the first time I have seen that proves it's not just me!
I am guessing it is most likely to be a software conflict but I just cannot figure out what might be clashing. I don't think I have anything unusual running. Hardware wise my laptop definitely meets the specs required. What laptop are you using? Mine is an HP Spectre x360 - 15-bl050na
If you do find a solution please post it here (I will do the same of course)

I have a similar issue with my MacBook Air. I download the .dmg file, open and install it. The MBA reboots but never actually installed Dex.

It's a Mac and you're trying to link it to an Android... Need I say more?
Sorry, couldn't resist. Did you try it with the phone connected? When connected does your MBA see the Note 10 and recognize it?

go to device manager under usb device you'll see a warning icon next to samsung_android, if so go download and install the samsung usb drivers for android. This has resolved this same issue on 2 of my computers.

Hello there similar issue in my case; in attachment the error message from my laptop installation, which went fine on the desktop.
The laptop (Lenovo X1 Carbon) installation always hangs at 16%.
But I have a S10+ and the Samsung drivers are already installed; using Windows 10 Pro 64 bit.
Hope you have some suggestion.
Thanks
Solved; in case you have the issue, prior installing enter the task manager and force close task named msiexec.exe.
That worked for me
Ciao
I am having the same problems... tried installing the drivers, same result. Install fails at 49%, repeatedly.
