I've been waiting to see when I will finally get the push for ek02. This weekend I will be doing some traveling and hopefully where my travel takes me I will get the push.
Last night I went from Virginia Beach through Richmond, VA up to Bethesda MD.. so far I have been unable to find an update... this morning I will be heading up to Philadelphia , not sure if Philly has gotten the push yet?
So I was wondering what cities have gotten the push so far?
I got it and I live on the jersey shore

Houston and nothing yet
Reading the post throughout xda leaves me to think its not sent out geographically but randomly.
Washington State and still waiting myself.
Sounds like sprint is walking on eggshells with this update...
Still no luck getting an update... Well i guess ill try again tomorrow heading back down south.
Its been bugging me for days in Houston..

Have you considered manually downloading it yourself and installing it from recovery?
EK02 OTA (patch EG30->EK02) - Sprint OTA [stock recovery] / Rooted OTA [CWM] - (thx kingsway8605/chris41g)
I restarted my phone, checked update and there it was.

Gulf Coast Florida: received the Update Notification around 4:30PM today.
Sprint doesn't actually deploy updates. Google does via their GOTA servers. It chooses phones at random not geographically, and rolls out the update over 10 days. At some point an update marker will get pushed to your phone, then you'll be prompted when you reboot, you manually hit check for updates, or eventually the update message will pop up.

I just got a PRL update automatically pushed to my phone. I am now at 60683. On Evo I always had to manually check for updates so that was kinda cool.
Anyone else get this?
I got this update too. Was just about to make a thread and saw yours. I'm at 60683 and oddly have signal now in my office at work (which I never have). Not getting my hopes up yet, I will conduct a few more tests but I can at least say that for now, it seems to be giving me better signal from the new PRL
Yeah I got mine yesterday (well lastnight) Have not noticed anything different with this one though as of yet.
I'm currently on 61081 and I'm updating now to see if anything changes.
EDIT: Just upgraded to 61083. outside columbia, sc here.
That PRL should only affect Puerto Rico.
11/16/11: Sprint Releasing National PRLs Ending in xxx83
Sprint will release PRLs ending in xxx83 to servers starting Wednesday, 11/16/11. These PRLs will be released to drive additional cost savings for Sprint in Puerto Rico markets. There's no customer impact.
Sprint will proactively push the PRLs to subscribers with push capable handsets/PDAs. Subscribers with Mobile Broadband devices will need to accept the PRL update prompt via Smartview to receive the release.
I just manually updated to it and now my data hardly works anymore. Hmmmm.
At least so far ...
EDIT: it eventually got back up to regular crap data speeds. w00t!

just manually updated to 61083 and now i don't even have 3g in my house where i used to get 3g at 1500 kps. now only on 1x sprint is really testing my patience....
manually upgraded and im in california
I manually updated mine, but my reception is really good anyway
I'm in class so I can't manually udpate atm, but I did notice that mine's on 60681. I wonder if this PRL solves the LoS bug that is related to roaming.
I'm sorry, maybe i'm dumb, but why would a roaming agreement affect your radio?

Got LoS twice in a row like usual anyways... Then the ghost LoS hit me for awhile after that. Oh well good thing I didn't set my expectations high.

Just manually updated mine, can't tell a difference right now since I have an Airave in my house lol. Will report back later if I notice any difference at college where i normally get little to no service. I doubt there will be a difference but let's see haha.
I just manually updated to 60683 as well. Herndon, Virginia. been on wifi all day though. hopefully it's better but I won't know until tomorrow

I talked to Sprint on their live chat about this, and of course they don't know anything.
I am only having bad service in one zip code, my home zip code. I get a notification saying the text failed to send, when it didn't - the other person got the message. My 4G speed is UNDER 1mbit. How do I address this issue with Sprint so the issue is resolved? According to the idiot on the live chat thing, he said there aren't any network issues.
Bump...
They probably are doing some tower improvement or network improvement in your area and the person you spoke with just didn't know. Heck, when I called in about the OTA update, they told me 2.3.4 is the newest version available

Haha wow...maybe visiting a store in the area would help? Does the store have to be in my zip code?
I don't even know if it's a service issue because the messages send, I just get a notification saying the message failed to send...it's really weird.

I know that I have had trouble for a whole day in SoCal before. I thought it was my setup so I Odin flashed back to stock, re-rooted, reflashed ROM only to find out it was a network issue. If you can go the day without it, I would see if its fixed tomorrow morning. If not, start totally fresh. If you Odin back to full stock and still have the problem, its pretty safe to say its the network

It's been almost constant for a while, but again..only one location. Not sure how that could be ROM based.

The one location leads me to believe it wouldn't be ROM based. That's why I suggested waiting it out for the day. I know that can be tough though

It's been a week.
It definitely sounds as though they're working in your area. Not that this will help get you better coverage but type in your zip on the map and perhaps see what they did or plan to do.

Just a side thought. Call CS & explain the issue & they may send you an airave. Got mine last week as I was having horrible service at my home, but it was just fine at my neighbors. Needless to say, no more dropped calls or missed texts.

Not so sure. I don't see anything current going on. And would they really leave their service in a degraded state for weeks on end for network upgrades?
I am in the Tampa Florida market. My service has been fine all day up till about an hour ago. I can not make or receive calls or connect to data. I just wanted to see if anyone else is having a problem or if it is just me!

Fwiw I live in central texas and they have had issues with towers going out......I'm just curious if it may be them working on the lte network upgrade(heres for hoping)

Whereabouts in Orlando? I'm by Conroy and I4 and have had poor signal and speeds for a long time. Even with my EVO. I max out at about 1500/1200 on 4G and 200/150 on 3G.

Well, I have the Sprint Version and im in Dallas, whydo i stil lonly see 3g (SLOOOOW).
I have gone back to stock and unrooted, done the updates to LG2 etc, what the hell is wrong?
Thanks
BD
You and me both. I spoke with someone with sprint and they said some towers were still being updated and that everything should be updated by July 20th but who knows. I have picked up the 4g signal a few times and the fastest down speeds I have gotten are 500kbps.
Sprint service blows...folks are having the same issue here in the 260, but atleast your bootloader is unlocked.
Yea sprint was supposed to have kc done and launched the other day. Apparently they only turned on a few towers around the city slowly and its slowly allowing more users onto the tower over time. Possibly to help prevent an overload of some sort.

False. Sprints lte markets have been launched, but the anticipated launch was met with 40% of the towers active. This means that as time goes on, the remaining 60% of the towers will turn on in due time.

I drove up to Inwood and 35, still no 4g.
Guess Ill take it back to the store.
i'm in canada using Telus and i notice it switches from LTE to Hspa ALL time... very random, even in the same place there's no guarantee what it will be on
This new article at S4GRU almost deserves its own thread here, but there are already too many on this general subject. Most of it may be news to folks here.

Today when I was at work, I looked at my phone and had "An update is available for your device" pop up on my home screen. Since I was at work and only have 3G coverage, not 4G or LTE on Tmobile USA, I hit cancel, figuring I'd just wait til I get home and do the update. I get home, go under settings and software updates...it tells me my device has been modified and I can't update. I've rooted my phone but haven't done any custom ROMs yet. Anyone know what this supposed update is supposed to be?
You won't be able to update if rooted.
