How to overclock the device without wifi/bt/camera problems?
Just install overclocked kernel by jikantaru if you are on 2.3.3
For 2.3.5 they need to make new one

Option 2 works for me...

You can use an overclocked kernel of same android build and your kernel's ramdisk and rebuild one... if you know what you are doing. If not, wait for development or download what is available [as eluded to in previous post]. Questions should be posted to the General folder.

Hello.
First of all, I'm new on this forum. Ok, I just rootet my HTC Desire, and tried the app "SetCPU" to overclock my Desire, as i can get better battery life
But the problem is, that i can just overclock the phone to 998 MHz, I've seen on random forums that someone has overclocked their Desire to full frequency, example like 1300 Mhz.
Please I need help with this! Someone?
You won't get better battery live by overclocking, it will drain your phone faster but preform better. If you want to overclock you need to install a custom kernel which allows overclocking, but i suggest you do some more reading before taking actions.
To overclock your Desire you need to use a different kernel (not the stock one). Try flashing Richardtrip's Kernel or a custom ROM (look at the android development section). If you don't know how to root and flash you can found good tutorial in the same section.
But be careful you are doing this at your own risk.

Currently i have DeFrost[ROM] installed on my Desire. Why is the frequency still at 998 MHz?
Thanks
Looking for a good kernel to use with stock rooted ROM. So many have been posted not sure which work well. I have removed all bloat programs, now just want to be able to save battery.
So undervolt with profiles.
Suggestions
HeyIt'sLou's #4 Kernel.
This is a question, it belongs in the Q&A sub-forum, not Android Development
I hope I don't get flamed for asking. We all know that the stock Kernal is stable and seems to be working for every ROM. Can someone with more knowledge than I have append SBC code to the stock kernal so we can get some SBC lovin?
I believe they're working on it because the official kernel source just got released.
I think a lot of the work is being done to enhance the kernal by adding in UV, CPU governors, OC, etc, first which is pretty awesome, but I guess I'm just looking for SBC+ stock kernal.
Requests are not development. They belong in the Q&A forum. Thread closed.
Hi, I like to know which kernels suit best for me.
important:
ClockworkMod Recovery in a recent version (at least 5.0.2.7)
nice to have:
ext4 support
additional govenors (such as smartass/smartass2)
I was interested in a DooMLord Kernel. Then I just saw a thread about a GB kernel. In a survey I read there's a doomlord kernel also for ICS. Can you provide me with a link?
the stock kernel with CWM I already tried and it has a slightly outdated CWM. So maybe someone could stab me in the right direction
The "development" section perhaps.

Hello all,
First of all, sorry for posting in the wrong forum, but I cannot post in the development one, so forgive me.
I have a question for all of you:
I have installed on my HTC Desire the Nikez Lente Evervol JB ROM, which is great.
I really like it, even if there are few bugs and random FC.
I've used CM7.2 for a long time before to switch to JB.
I don't miss CM (sorry for that), but I really miss Tiamat Kernel I installed within it, which helped me overclock and underclock my processor, changing also the voltage.
With Nikez Lente JB original kernel this is not possible, I tried to install Tiamat Kernel for ICS but the phone cannot boot anymore, I'm stuck to initial black screen.
So I went back to the original Nikez Kernel.
Unfortunately this kernel seems do not allow "extreme" overclock as Tiamat does, and do not allow the user to change the voltage table.
I would really like to have these features back on my JB installation, is it possible?
Is there a kernel which can work with Nikez JB ROM and can give me back the features I'd like to have?
Moreover: can you explain why the Tiamat ICS kernel (for Bravo GSM) does not work with both Nikez Lente ROMs (ICS & JB)? Am I making something wrong?
My phone is a PVT-1 Amoled, S-OFFed qith Revolutionary, the HBOOT is the Alpharev Stock one, The recovery is CWM 5.0.2.0, I have a 32Gb SD card with 1 Gb ext3 sd-ext partition.
What else can I say?
Thank you very much in advance.
Regards,
Giovanni
Yes it is possible.
But probably you have to wait.
Evervolv team (nikez included) are working on jb and probably when all features will be working they add some mod in kernel that will let you OC CPU.

Did you check/compare the kernel configs? One of the CM wiki pages about building the kernel describes howto access the config - or check the git repos, evervolv has the file somewhere in arch/asm, it is called bravodefconfig IIRC
Maybe a device or filesystem driver is missing

Almost, it's located in arch/arm/configs/evervolv_bravodefconfig
