HeyIt'sLou's #4 Kernel.
This is a question, it belongs in the Q&A sub-forum, not Android Development

So i know you guys have probably read and answered many of these, im sorry, but i still have a lot of questions
1. How do you flash a new Kernal on your phone?
2. If you don't like the new kernal, how do you switch back to stock?
3. Do kernals affect the phones capabilites such as wifi tether?
4. Which Kernals are stable?
5. Which kernals are best for Battery Life?
My main concern is the 2nd question.
Thx for you help guys, im new to these forums but i like all the help that goes around in here =D
Read this thread and don't post question threads in the development section. Questions belong in the Q&A section.
1. How do you flash a new Kernal on your phone? In recovery mode
2. If you don't like the new kernal, how do you switch back to stock? You flash the stock kernel
3. Do kernals affect the phones capabilites such as wifi tether?yes
4. Which Kernals are stable?varies by phone and ROM
5. Which kernals are best for Battery Life?varies by phhone and ROM
I might add that when you flash a kernel make sure you wipe the cache and dalvik-cache prior to flashing it.
I hope I don't get flamed for asking. We all know that the stock Kernal is stable and seems to be working for every ROM. Can someone with more knowledge than I have append SBC code to the stock kernal so we can get some SBC lovin?
I believe they're working on it because the official kernel source just got released.
I think a lot of the work is being done to enhance the kernal by adding in UV, CPU governors, OC, etc, first which is pretty awesome, but I guess I'm just looking for SBC+ stock kernal.
Requests are not development. They belong in the Q&A forum. Thread closed.
How to overclock the device without wifi/bt/camera problems?
Just install overclocked kernel by jikantaru if you are on 2.3.3
For 2.3.5 they need to make new one

Option 2 works for me...

You can use an overclocked kernel of same android build and your kernel's ramdisk and rebuild one... if you know what you are doing. If not, wait for development or download what is available [as eluded to in previous post]. Questions should be posted to the General folder.
Thanks,
Rob
Hey all, I hope this is an okay place to post this and I tried searching around but wasn't able to get good information.
Essentially I'm really annoyed with the extra Samsung software and really want to try a custom rom but I also need to use my phone for work so it needs to be pretty reliable. As far as I can tell CM is still in a beta / alpha state for Note 2 (unless I am mistaken).
Are there any specific roms that have been tested well / known for being the most reliable? I love playing around with roms but I am having a rough time trying to figure out which roms are most stable, which are experimental, etc.
There are several roms that are very stable. Depending on your personal taste, you will want to first decide if you want a TouchWiz based rom or a AOSP based rom. Then find the rom that interests you and read the forum for the roms and see if there are stability issues for those roms. You should probably stick with a more stock rom that has been debloated. I personally use Synergy rom and you have the option to install the rom without the bloat apps or with them. Its within the Aroma installer during the flash process that allows you to customize your Os install. I would download and flash an earlier version between r51 and r85. The newest version has significant issues as it is still being debugged. Other than Synergy there a few other TouchWiz based roms that are debloated and offer different tweaks etc. CM based roms are very stable actually.I hope this helps.

I just bought the phone and I'm on MIUI 13.0.6 and I get about 5 hours of screen time at 120hz, I wanted to know which of all the ROMs for the Poco F3 gives the longest battery life
Hi, and welcome to the forums! I suggest using the search function, as this question was discussed multiple times before.
In my experience if you're like me and want wifi + bluetooth, AOD and 120Hz on 24/7, then you won't get great battery backup no matter what you do.
I've tried a few AOSP based ROMs, battery was best with ArrowOS, but CrDroid is close and has more features, so that's what I use. Balaam kernel got me best results, but infiniR (comes packaged with CrDroid) is also good and gets more updates.
To answer your question of which ROM is best - the ultimate winner will always be a debloated stock MIUI ROM. So I would stay with rooted stock, look into debloating and underclocking with custom kernel manager. I recommend Franco Kernel manager for that + it helps you track your battery drain stats.
