Who stole my phone - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Hi,
Now when we have option for face unlock on Galaxy Nexus Im get idea but don't know if this is possible.
For example I have enabled face unlock and lose my phone or someone stole it. First thing what usualy someone try is turn it on Camera will detect other person and phone will stay locked. Is there some application which in this case can send picture of people who would like unlock phone to some email? It will be great if this is already done or someone can do it...
So is there some app which can do this?

Nice idea!

doesn't mean that person stole the phone though lol and lets not forget privacy issues . 3rd party app maybe but definitely not google apps.

Look up "got ya" in the android market!I'm not sure if it is compatible with the face unlock feature though.. You should try it out and tell us if it works or not!

I don't think its a privacy issue if its my phone and I told it to save a pic of the person trying to unlock the phone unsuccessfully. Sure some of them would be myself in bad lighting but that's fine.

Nice catch... I think this is what Im looking now I must only check if is compatible with ICS and face unlock

oops......i tried gotya lite on my GN and there is no faceunlock support which is as expected as ICS is so young..
but i have got into another problem now where after disabling gotya and uninstalling it, i am not able to select the faceunlock feature and the screen looks like before.....how do i re enable these

Email the dew for any questions and ask him when face unlock will work...

i have no issues about when they will support faceunlock, i just want to re-enable the faceunlock feature as it is disabled in the screenshot

Check device administrators in security settings. Maybe reinstall the app, take away or grant it admin if it needs then uninstall when face unlock is available again?

Try removing whatever account you have in your Email. (Not to be misunderstood as GMail)

if you go to settings, security, then choose clear credentials. give it a reboot then thats it. had this once with a customer from where i work.

Cerberus app is so easy to uninstall. Mybe the owner have to work out on a solution to glaxy nexus unistalling procedure cause now all can uninstall the app.

Is there really any way to secure our phones? It seems like if someone with knowledge of rooted phones could find it and just wipe it. Or is there a way to secure it from boot?

Cerberus can't be uninstalled unless u wipe phone in recovery ( this option would get rid of 100% of security apps ) or u no the unlock code to get to an app like titanium backup . Cerberus is a damn good app if not the best

Anyone successfully registered their phone on the site? If so how? I thought the only way was to add a 'Samsung Account' under 'Accounts and Sync' , however theres no option to add a Samsung Account.
I tried and failed. On the Galaxy Tab 10.1 there's an option under Samsung Account settings to enable to Ring/Track device online. I don't even see a Samsung Account option here. =/
Can someone tell me what this dive is?

anti theft app that takes picture of assailant??

a friend of mine has this for iphone. basically, when an incorrect pin is entered on the lock screen the app displays a custom message the user inputs and uses the front facing camera to take a picture of the person who is using the phone! really cool. any idea if anything like this exists for droid?

So....will the app automatically send the picture to your email or it requires you to select "auto upload to Google+"? I hope not the second option cuz I HATEEE the way Google+ not letting us deleting the uploaded pictures from our gallery.
I don't make a habit of complaining about permissions. But why do we basically have to give this app control of everything, Skynet style.

i know where is your question coming from - but i have to tell you that you would be surprised how many apps are accessing the same info as this one is. i dont wanna call names - but titanium back up - for example and much more. try LBE privacy guard and find out. almost all GAMELOFT games are asking for emei and even sms log or call log mate/location as well - so i think it will make no difference and if you wanna be able locate your device remotely or even make a pic you have to givea permision to the app providing such a service.
you have to live with it or not use the special "protection"

I loaded this and it works fine on my Galaxy Nexus. The only thing funny is that the pictures seem to be rotated 90 degrees clockwise from the way the phone was being held.
The version of cerberus I used with my GN has an option where the screen goes all white and then snaps a picture with the front camera as soon as the screen is touched.
I also setup Cerberus to email everything to an account that isn't setup on the phone so if the phone is gone, the person holding it can't delete the emails.

Good stuff! I was looking for something like this! Another app you guys may want to try is an app that locks down your apps with a password or pattern. I havent installed one on my Gnex yet but I used one on my EVO (actually, come to think of it, it was native to MIUI).

[Q]Is it possible to enable NFC at lock screen?

I love NFC and was hoping to use it a lot with the chips I bought. However unlocking the phone first is really stupid. Is there some way to enable NFC to work at the lock screen? So that the NFC unlocks it or something? It is kinda useless to me now. BTW I have root, but no recovery. I don't want recovery because of the triangle stuff.
why u dont just enable the NFC all the time? i dont think with NFC enable/disable the battery drain is noticable

I think you understood me wrong. NFC doesn't work when the screen is off/locked. That sucks, because I want to use it when coming home/leaving home and I really don't see the point in using this if I have to unlock it first.
Yeah,
Even the manual says it only works when the screen is unlocked.

I'm not trying. Also I just hope there is some way without recovery.
I really hope there will be an "official" way at some point.
If anyone is making a mod for this, maybe we can bypass the security concerns if there was a pop-up that requires you to approve the tag first, and be pre-approved for known tags. This way security is not compromised, and we also get the added convenience as well.

You can just extract the zip using something like rom toolbox, and then copy the files to there respective place manually, that way you don't need recovery.

Seconded, would love this for my note ii
I'm using this method which is for Note 2: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1999569
Works fine. Have set up a few tags and using it with Secure Settings, NFC Task Launcher and Tasker to do a number of things without having to wake the phone up or unlock first.
The only issue is that if you put your wallet in the same pocket as your phone, it will beep when it scans the the NFC chips in the credit cards
The method replaces the NFC service file in the system directory so at the very least you need root access.

Edit: Kindly, today, dr.ketan told us how to do it http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=36824840&postcount=1
All works for me, woohoo but whenever you use the browser or chrome, it crashes the nfc service
I'm experiencing that problem as well now. Also on launching YouTube service. It's annoying and makes it more inconvenient than having nfc screen off. There is another method through XposedFramework which is non destructive on the stock NFC.apk file. Might be worth a look?
www.villainrom.co.uk/forum/microdownloads/nfc-lockscreenoff-enabler.9/viewfile
But before that, I tried to restore my NFC to a non crashing version after doing the CWM method. I couldn't get my stock NFC.apk back, even with TitaniunBackup. Had to do a selective /system restore.

[Q] Disable AT&T Locker w/o root?

So I finally found an app that kills the Note II's battery
Yesterday the Play Store notified me of an update to the AT&T Locker app (their version of dropbox and the like). I had never used the app, but updated it nonetheless to avoid seeing the notification in the Play Store. Big mistake! Battery usage went way up, and indeed it was the #2 item in the Battery page, right after the Screen itself. Again, I had not even set up an account with AT&T locker...
Anyway, I rolled back the update (by "uninstalling" in the Play store; because it's a system app, you can't really remove it) and am now recharging. Hopefully this will at least solve the batteyr issue, though I will still get the notification to update.
I know that I can remove that app (or freeze it) if I root, but I'm still within my return period and trying to make up my mind, so I'd rather not root yet. Are there any alternatives that do not involve root? Or, at least, ways to ensure that the Locker app does not suck up so much power?
Thanks!

Mine won't locate the device =( I do have everything setup correctly but it's constantly searching and location unavailable... it's same for all 3 of note 2 my family has, weird?
I'll just depend on Cerberus, plus it has more functions anyway.
