I am currently working on the HTC View Port to the EVO and I am in need of some skilled resizers. Tutorials, guides and one-on-one teaching welcome also. Thanks.
Well i love the rom not so sure on what needs resized but if you find a step by step im willing to help.
New to xda, not new to PhotoShop, and can pretty much figure things out...pm me, by the way love the ROM and would love to help to the completion.

Well if you want the image to center up on the home screen the way it's shifted left to right will depend on how many screens you have. I have 4 - which is 1 to the left and 2 to the right - so on a standard 960 pixels wide by 800 pixels high I have to center my image between 160 pixels on the left margin and 640 pixels on the right. Depending on the number of screens you have you'll have to play with it in Photoshop to get it the way you want it. I wrote up a little tutorial for all this here:
http://androidforums.com/evo-4g-tips-tricks/179417-how-make-wallpaper-your-phone.html
Hope that helps
So erm, I know a lot of people are starting to get their phones, and just thought it might be cool to have a thread dedicated to pictures people take, so it is nice and easy to see shots

agreed, camera is the make or break for me! let's see those fantastic photography skills!
saturation
Well I tried to post a picture but since I am a new one I am not allowed to do so yet
Anyways I noticed that the pictures tend to be heavily oversaturated with the stock settings so I have turned the saturation down by 1 point. I think it gives much better look to the pictures you take with your lovely One X.
And about the picture quality... It is there! It is just so easy to screw up the pictures by not focusing properly or shaking... Keep taking pictures of the target you want and eventually it will give you a nice one.
I am not sure if you can use normal photography rules to phone hardware but if the f/ is 2.0, which gives you very shallow depth of field, the focusing is everything. And with the point to autofocus it can be a real pain in the ass. This can also be the reason why other camera phones pictures might look sharper, if they do cant remember , higher F = higher focus overall in picture. f/2.0 allows faster shooting in dark but it is more prone to blur from screwing up your focus.
Anyways, keep focusing your pictures! I think its a great phone with a pretty decent camera if you use it right.
There is already such a thread, many pages long. Have a browse for it

Yes there is an other theme about pictures but without instructions for custom settings. And if there are we can't find between so many posts without interesting.
Moderators must transfer at the first post all the tips so as to be easy for every one to find them.
EDIT: This guy just made my day!! I just made a 47kbit video with this mod to stock camera.
NOW we can close this thread if mods so desire =) Thank you everyone!
So the bitrate on HTC One X's camera is hilariously low.
Videos that it spits out terrible when compared to SGSII which I gave to my wife. Video is just strobbing and wobbling due to it.
I understand that some people have very low quality standards and are satisfied with it, and there were some threads about it here.. but everything kinda died out.
I think hardware is capable of "normal" bitrate, since some market camera apps allow for it.. But can we make a hack to our camera to allow for high bitrates?
I mean, I love the phone.. but what's the point of 1080p video capability if it spits out 10k bitrate? None.

Maybe that should tell you something. Do you think starting a new thread when others are open is going to change anything? It's been acknowledged and is for now a fact of life. What are you expecting to happen? More ranting? A petition perhaps? For those that are desperately miserable with all or parts of the One X, why don't you sell it and get an SGS3? Repetitive ranting here isn't going to change anything no matter how many threads are opened.
Duplicate threads, especially those that are stated as duplicate threads, get closed.
I agree, 720p goes ok, but 1080p stutters a lil bit.. the bitrate should be higher..
tried it with some other apps, like lgCamcorder.. you can select the bitrate and you'll get smoother video (20mbps is enough)
---------- Post added at 10:59 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:57 PM ----------
maybe HTC will eventually bring out an update, wich increases the bitrate of the camera app (hope so)

Look at you all puffing and pissed off, lol. Angry little creature.
I opened this thread because it's a legitimate question about why aren't those threads getting an attention they deserve. Perhaps people are satisfied with choppy wobbly video that One X produces, perhaps a solution has been found that I'm not aware of. Hence, the thread.
And a related question - What are you expecting to happen by yelling at me for opening this thread? More ranting? For you, desperately miserable and super angry about this thread, why don't you see a shrink - perhaps they can fix you up.
Now unless you got something relevant to contribute to the problem at hand, go rant somewhere else.

I remember seeing someone who developed a higher bitrate camera for Sensation trying to make one for HOX.. but not sure what happened there - did he lose interest?
It just surprises me that this isn't discussed much more.
Search for the sense HQcamera mod - when i was running sense i got 29fps at 11-12,000kbps and uncompressed/4-5mb pics BIG difference compared to stock camera. CM9 - im getting 18-19,000kbps with 22fps indoors, will test outdoors later.
It's been talked about A LOT, especially by me in this thread.

Yes, I remember that one. Unfortunately, development of it for HOX was stopped, and existing beta mod freeezes up and FCs a lot. I just tried latest 1.3beta for Sense4 - that is indeed the case.
I contacted that developer with a PM, asking him what does he need to fully port that mod for HOX, with 25+mbits for 1080p. If he needs a financial incentive to compensate for his time and effort, I'll get a bounty going here.
So far, only Camera ICS works decently well, without crashing.
LGCamera is on and off kind of thing. About half the time it doesn't record anything - just black video feed.

I've actually been asked by a XDA member to do some more tests with the current ROM version. Will be doing 720p and 1080p some time soon Been raining these days, not enough sun ):
one thing to open a new thread to "talk about the problem" over and over, another with the purpose of actually solving / improving the issue.
imho i'm tired of discussing the "problem", it has been discussed already to death, that's why the search function is for.
as far as the "solution" goes, there's couple of threads/developments around which (WOW) are linked in the respective "problem" threads....
@OP: there's other alternatives to LgCamera that work well...care to search for them?

And your ranting adds what to the thread?
LGCamera doesn't work very well with HOX. Many times it can't get the feed from camera and won't work until reboot.
Camera ICS is a bad alternative as it's ugly, has adds and has resolution problems.
HDCamera mod doesn't work with HOX.
I did read those threads, that's why I opened this one.
Now, can we stop acting like a new thread costs millions of dollars and move on with the discussion? If you don't want to participate - don't participate. If all you want to do is complain - please avoid this thread kkthnx.

close your eyes when taking a photo so you don't have to see the CameraICS interface...add 1.99$ to the mix and get rid of the ads. there are no resolution problems.

I've never mentioned it before, but all those apps at least used to have dodgy aspect ratios when recording video, couldnt find any option to work around it.
Just looked now actually, most recent version of camera ics has fixed that...

It still does =(
Just bought a paid version of Camera ICS - tested it out - stretched videos. Had to get a refund immediately.
So Camera ICS isn't a viable option, so is LGCamera that can't even connect to the camera about 80% of the time (tested on several ROMs).
Back at square one =(
45kbit+ video mod for stock camera!!! Seems to be working fine so far. Now I'm happy =)
Seems to be recording at 24fps only. Not smooth enough for me /:

there was a mod for 29FPS out there, wasn't it?
but bitrate still @ 10-12mbps
pick your poison, will take a genius to combine FPS and bitrate in one mod
There hasn't been a thread specifically started for wallpapers so I figured, why not? I'm going to be picking up an HTC One once it hits the US and am interested in finding some nice wallpapers. So post ahead!

Hopefully I'll be getting mine April 19th but I've gotten a bunch of wallpapers ready for when I get my One. Here is a link of my dropbox Folder with all the ones I have so far.
https://www.dropbox.com/sh/vjsv9rh2bcbumgt/QP4ogtZdHp
Most were found on Wallbase.cc and rotated and scaled so it looked nice on the 1080p screen (A few I also edited to look nicer and add extra detail). All walls are 1080x 1920 and 90% of them aren't scaled up images so they all crisp. The ones that are were kept as crisp as I could make them. The only ones I made myself were the 9th, 34th, 42nd, and soon to be 68th wall.

You're welcome. Just made a new one. HTC69. Would have a lot more but all the wallpapers I've made have been for the much lower res of the iPhone 4. Gonna take me some time to re-create them. I'll be updating it at least once a week with new wallpapers. Probably quite a few times a week. They will most likely only be wallpapers that are created with photoshop. Getting Landscape photos and such on to such a long screen is quite the challenge. Might add a single wall with a photo that I took and used for my iPhone for quite a while. Will probably be the only other one. I wish to be able to make a community wallpaper dropbox but I don't know how to have other people add quality wallpapers themselves. Maybe one day.
Edit: Currently at 82.

There is a option for downloading them all -> On the right side of the page under More tab -> download album
If you select that entire album will be downloaded as a zip file.

not all. some are.. these are not specifically for 1080p but just sharing my collection
So I got my One and the Wallpapers look great. If you view it through dropbox though on your One, the screens are compressed badly UNLESS you download them to a folder and select it as a wallpaper. So if you are viewing the files on mobile don't be turned away by what looks like cruddy wallpapers. They look amazing so far.
Thanks for the wallpapers.. Really appreciate it.
