I am currently working on the HTC View Port to the EVO and I am in need of some skilled resizers. Tutorials, guides and one-on-one teaching welcome also. Thanks.
Well i love the rom not so sure on what needs resized but if you find a step by step im willing to help.
New to xda, not new to PhotoShop, and can pretty much figure things out...pm me, by the way love the ROM and would love to help to the completion.

Well if you want the image to center up on the home screen the way it's shifted left to right will depend on how many screens you have. I have 4 - which is 1 to the left and 2 to the right - so on a standard 960 pixels wide by 800 pixels high I have to center my image between 160 pixels on the left margin and 640 pixels on the right. Depending on the number of screens you have you'll have to play with it in Photoshop to get it the way you want it. I wrote up a little tutorial for all this here:
http://androidforums.com/evo-4g-tips-tricks/179417-how-make-wallpaper-your-phone.html
Hope that helps

Hey hey, everybody! I've been running emotionless beast for a while since 1.5. I love it to death, don't get me wrong, but on an all jet black phone, IMO Nothing beats a darkstar port. So I figured wtf? Let's port one over. Problem there is I've been working 12's lately, and only get a little bit of computer time, if any during a day. Weekends, same thing . So I need to throw a request out there to any individual(s) that also would like to see this happen to help me out.
I did some custom themes on my cliq, but those were all through metamorph. So if someones willing to take the plunge and start on this project, I am more than willing to help them out on a few sections. My photoshop is ready and willing. Just need a hand and someone that can give me a stock-deodexed template to work off of. I figured if we end up doing this we should just make it for Froyo, since that is (hopefully) in the near future. It'd be kinda silly to work hard on a 2.1 theme just for it to phase out next month entirely.
Anyways... any volunteers? Concerns? Would you like to see this too? let me know.
Im working on porting my beast to froyo with the power options and everything. I got my framework-res.apk all done. I just need to modify the 3jar files. After I finish the port I was thinking of making a black and chrome theme with blue highlights. I already got my name picked out "Dark Beast". I'll gladly look into this port and add my own twist.

Here's a link if anyone's curious to see screenshots:

Yeah that is just one variety of it, there have been many versions of darkstar released. That'd be awesome, mystery if you did decide to make a "Dark Beast" I'd be glad to be a part of it/help you out with it you decide you like Darkstar and want to make a hybrid/mod type thing go down.
The things I like about darkstar is : A. The rounded screen corners give the screen/phone a very blended/smooth look to a solid black phone. B. I also just think that Jet black/green look extremely sexy complementing one another. C. It just looks overall clean and nice.
The only thing I don't like about it is most of the notif. bar icons. All white and completely boring is not my thing. I'd like to do something with them, which would be no problem.
Anyone else have an opinion either way on this?

My English is very bad . I'm a Vietnamese, sorry

oh.. I just know
Just for everyone who don't know::::
LDPI:Low density (120).Small screen :QVGA (240x320),Normal screen: WQVGA400 (240x400),WQVGA432 (240x432)
MDPI:Medium density (160).Normal screen :HVGA (320x480),Large screen:WVGA800* (480x800),WVGA854* (480x854)
HDPI:High density (240).Normal screen :WVGA800 (480x800)
WVGA854 (480x854)
DPI -- dots/pixels per inch
HDPI -- high dots per inch (similarly low and medium for ldpi and mdpi)
-- two displays with same resolution and different screen sizes have different DPI's.
WILDFIRE (LDPI):
dpi = 120 dots per inch
screen size = 3.2 inch diagnol = 2 inch vertical x 2.66 inch horizontal
120 x 2 = 240 (vertical resolution)
120 x 2.66 = 320 (horizontal resolution)........ CHEERS
[correct me if im wrong]

This is a forum, he asked for help. If you don't know or don't want to help, keep quiet.
I used google to find about that, and the first site was here, lucky me, we had a second fellow with good will to answer it.

The thing is, that answer is perfectly acceptable. If you have any questions, the first place you go is Google. At least, that's what I do. Most results found on Google are reliable, and you can usually tell the reliable sources from the unreliable.
Sometimes there's no answer at all on Google. I've found this here cause I couldn't find it there. I bet the guy tried it before too. Is it so hard to stay quiet when you don't want to help? I'm sure that bx19 and mtnhan1996 spent no more than 5 minutes to answer this. Just my 2 cents...
Thank you for the info, bx19 and mtnhan1996!

First result on google when searching "hdpi, mdpi, ldpi" is this: http://developer.android.com/guide/practices/screens_support.html
Scroll down and bam, there`s the answer.
Oh, and that page is old as ****, I remember reading it two years ago.
Can anyone with the know-how explain how to change the Slpash Screen like I was able to on my inc1. I hate the White HTC screen. Changing that to black is so great.
Same here! Would really like to get a custom splash!
Bit of research on my end through XDA forums found the "[HOW TO] HTC Desire Custom Splash screen". I tested it out and it works for Inc2!
I would post the link, but as a newb I can't insert links in my posts yet.
Make sure you follow the directions (especially with respect to pixels 480 x 800).
Good Luck!
Have fun and Enjoy!
Awesome, ill whip up some Splash Screens when I have time

Thanks for posting the link! ...hopefully I'll be able to do that soon enough
Having trouble finding wallpapers that don't look all blurry because they stretch out....hmmm
The proper resolution SHOULD be 1440 x 1280, but I'm not sure whether the soft button area should be included or not, though. I don't have one yet (until VZW gets their act together) to test it, but if you'd like to try, here's a photo I shot myself that I like as a wallpaper, sized to 1440 x 1280.
EDIT: XDA compresssed it a LOT. Try this link.
http://interfacelift.com/wallpaper/downloads/date/any/
Resize/Crop to the resolution mentioned above.
I found these yesterday and liked them so I just thought I would throw these in here.
I found them on android central forum, they are not my work.
Posted by cyber-warrior, here is a link to the page with many more.

It looks like I'll be spending the majority of my day on Interfacelift.com.
I love that place but never bothered to make a list of my favorites.
I made this one already and it is on my phone!
without paying $2.50 for Logo Me? Seems somewhat silly to me to pay for what seems like a rather easy mod. However, I couldn't find any definitive answer on how to manually change the splash screen.
Its worth it.. I'm usually very cheap especially with something so simple. Just buy the app and support the developer. Besides I have a thread of a bunch of images pre sized for use.
And take requests for personal logos.
For the record its not a simple mod... this requires breaking down the images in the bootloader and taking the custom images converting them to bootloader images.. so its a simple thought but a lot of work behind it.

It is way worth the $2.50. When it was first figured out how to do this on the Xoom I changed the boot image once manually and it was kind of a PITA. The result was totally not worth the effort. When team EOS put out their app to change the logo it made it fun. Same with logo me, it makes it simple and fun. Ezekeel took the time to map the process and build it into a usable UI within an app. To simply answer you.. yes it can be done manually. But you won't catch me doing it that way!!
Support the dev it's worth it

Nevermind
it's not a simple mod.if it was a simple mod,we have already many methods and devs did this.with the app buying you support the works of the dev,and i assicure you that he spent al least a week or more to have info from users via dab terminal and coding the app.worth the buy in my opinion, otherwise yo can try yourselves if you have the ability..
take a look MANUALLY how it's on asus trasformer the change of logo and make you an idea.(not workin on gnex i think, not try)

sometimes modding your phone is fun for the aspect of modding it, not everyone likes the "there's an app for that" revolution. Not that Im one of them, Im just saying lol
A SPECIFIC guide on the other hand, is VERY useful to some people. Its unfortunate that there isnt a guide for the g-nex specifically.

I totally agree. I have no desire to change my splash screen, but I would like to know how to do it, for the purposes of learning.
