Yesterday, i compared my camera with a non rooted htc wildfire...In the non-rooted wildfire the picture was very clear while the camera on my phone was blurry and the quality wasnt as good as the non-rooted.So, i found the stock camera apk and i replaced this with the cm7 camera. Now i dont have camera app installed on my phone ...Also i installed this

and after i installed a camera from market. The camera quality remained the same....What can i do???

HTC sense apps won't work on cm7.
This is the mod I use on cm7 and it seems to work fine for me.

Camera 360 Ultimate is pretty cool though I find the stock HTC camera application is still better.
I'm looking for alternatives so I can use cm7 with a good camera app

I also use Vignette.
best cam app.
Best camera application ever is pudding camera it has great effects , you can download it from android market
I use camera360 mostly for HDR image, vignette for normal shot..
I was wondering if it is really possible to create those kind of pictures included in the gallery of Desire HD using the default camera app?

HTC Sense Camera App

Hey !
I am running a custom ROM by Cyanogen on my HTC Desire. I have tried several applications for using the camera but none even come close to the Sense Camera App which is present in the factory ROM.
Where can I get it back from ? And how do I install it ?
I've tried installing the apk on several non sense roms and it just wont work. I don't think its possible

That's disheartening to hear! I might just consider switching to the original rom if there isn't a way to install it on cyanogen

You won't be able to run a Sense app (in this case HTC Camera) on an AOSP ROM.
The Sense app relies on Sense libs which are copyright protected and belongs to HTC. That's why none ASOP ROM uses HTC Camera (as they don't include the required libs). Also to make it work on a ROM which does not include the Sense libs, this would requires patches, or a port of the required libraries which is, if not impossible, at least very difficult.
Personnaly, I do prefer AOSP ROMs (and finally ended with Oxygen) as I prefer the advantages of these ROMs compared to Sense ones. I do occasionnaly use other application to take photos and I can live without the HTC camera app (which I must recognize is quite good).
Damn it! Well anyway thanks for your help.
Btw can u suggest a camera app which is good enough? The stock android camera sucks donkey balls and camera 360 is not that great either.

[Q] Stock camera on Cyanogen?

Hey, is there any way to get the stock htc camera app on cyanogen port????
Because, i cant get touch focus on the cyanogen camera....
I’ve tried installing the apk but it returns 'application not installed'...
Not possible, sense camera = sense rom.
Download camera360 from market for free. It has touch to focus and many other options!!
I don't like camera on cm also. Think picture quality was better with stock camera.

I bought CameraZoomFX as it is a great upgrade from any stock camera. Highly recommend it. It's now my default cam and has been for a while even when I was using Sense ROM's

Forcing the Camera to work?

Hey the sense 4.0 ROM that I flashed this morning gets into the camera app but theres no preview just a black screen, is it possibe to make it work using 3rd Party camera apps?
Anyone??
There is no ICS drivers for Desire Z. On AOKP ROMs without Sense, we don't need the drivers. People tried to use other camera apps to get camera working, but it didn't worked.

[Q] suggestions for sense cam replacement in aosp

The one thing keeping me on a sense rom at present is the lack of a camera app that is anywhere near the HTC stock One.
Really want to make the switch to jellybean and was looking for a few suggestions. Ucam seemed good until I realised you can't stop it beeping and it doesn't use the stock gallery. I have purchased camera360 in the past as well as camera fx but none of the seem quite as easy or fast. By the way I'm fully aware sense cam can't work on aosp.

Currently running CM 10 preview with JB and also missing the camera app.
I tried a couple(mainly to get the hold for multi shot functionality) but they were a little poor.
Pudding Camera - worked ok but not as good.
Fast Burst Camera - very fast burst mode but really poor quality.
Camera Magic - not that good
I found camera mx to be the best. Make sure you update it though to get video recording.
