I am sure there are a lot of you who have unknowingly updated to SPL 5.xxx only to get to Internet Sharing or by mistake and are stuck on SPL 5.xxx like me. After a lot of reading, researching and wanting to go to custom roms like Ansar’s or DFT’s Freedom Rom, I have managed to go back to SPL 1.22 from SPL 5.xx .I have come up with this step by step guide for the downgrade. So this is how it works.
First of all what I did was to find an old USB HUB
Find an old USB Extension Cable(I hope this is what it is called). i.e. It has a male port on one end and a female port on another end.
I de-soldered two female usb ports from the old usb hub
Soldered both the usb ports like this.

"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Cut the old usb cable and only soldered the red (+positive) and black(-negative) wires to the ports.
Took a USB Drive and formatted it to FAT 32
Copied the RUU_Signed.nbh from the rom RUU_Gold_HTC_Europe_1.22.401.01_Radio_5.63.09.13_3a_22.36.50.15U_by_ansar and renamed it to GOLDIMG.NBH
*** I am not sure if this step is necessary but I had done this step so may not work without it. Opened the goldcard tool v0.05(an old version I had) and patched a goldcard.img which I had from my old HTC Wildfire and patched the USB Drive. Note I did not get the CID of the USB drive or used a memory card and card reader
Connected the male port of the USB cable made earlier to the PC, Inserted the USB Drive to one port
Put the Phone (HTC 7 Pro) to the USB host mode by holding the Volume – and Camera button together.
Connected the phones USB Cable to the other USB Port.
I suddenly got the screen on the phone and it started updating the phone from the USB Drive, the Phone booted once and it updated once again
Then the Phone’s screen showed the update was a success. I had to hold the power for about 10 secs and the phone powered off. I switched on the phone and hold the volume – to get to the boot loader and what I saw was SPL 1.22. Will be uploading the pictures soon as I don’t have my camera with me now.
I am off to Flashing custom roms now………..Good luck everyone and hope this tutorial helps you all to go back to custom roms and unlocked WP7 phones. Cheers………….
I you have any questions feel free to PM me.
Note: Please try this at your own risk. I will not be responsible for bricked devices.
A big thanks to Martin7Pro for his research and contribution.
Please hit thanks if my post helped you.
Nice but, can you give any scheme ? THX I don't understand that:

I used this rom : RUU_Schubert_TMOUS_3.01.531.02_Radio_5.65.09.25a_22.45.50.21_Signed_SCHUBERT_RELEASE.7392
bootloader from 5.10 to 4.6 with "Goldcard"
Hi, I'm just on my HTC Mozart (including all updates, IS, bootloader 5.10 / 7.10.7740.16)
successfully with the "Goldcard" way downgraded the bootloader from 5.10 to 4.6.
See pictures.
Is really simple, if now how.
I've done everything as described in the first tread.
I've only after the bootloader downgrade the USB cable on Mozart moved in order not to downgrade also radio update.
I thank the treadmaker and all other ones to able and manage this.
All this ones without to loose any SMS, mail or contact. Even the unlock (Chevron or Interop) is again working.
Till now I have no problems with the Mozart.

Hi all!
Manual for recovery bricked FLAME
Symptoms: the device didn't switch on after experiments with an upgrade. Reacted only to power unit connection at the inserted battery - the orange led lights up. At this situation to bring the device back to life, only a flash bootloader (eboot.nb0) by means of interface JTAG is needed and possible.
1. Hardware preparation.
Please disassemble the FLAME and extract board. The detailed instruction
You should make a simple JTAG - cable.

Max lenght this cable is 20-25sm. My variant:
Alsoit is posible to produce some contacts, for example (see foto)
2. Software preparation.
To be required in addition:
1. Micro-SD card and cardreader.
2. Program SDFormatter, download here or here
3. FlameRecoveryTools from Medush, download
4. Diskimage.nb0 - any for FLAME. I extract it from official update
Well, now at all of us it is ready. We begin...
1. Extract FlameRecoveryTools on c:\
2. Run c:\FlameRecoveryTools\giveio_setup.exe (It driver for JTAG-cable). Please make sure that driver is installed and started.
3. Attach JTAG-cable to LPT-port your PC and FLAME board.
4. Plug power cable to FLAME board (or USB-cable from PC).
IMPORTANT! Do not press the button-indicator of the inserted accumulator!!!!
5. Open cmd-window. (Start-Run-cmd)
6. Go to c:\FlameRecoveryTools\JFlash_MM\
7. Run Start.bat
If everything is OK, a flash process will start and you should see:
If you see:
Please carefully check up correctness and reliability of all connections, a cause of error may be ONLY in it. Don't try to find missing file or any other program mistakes.
Ok, flash process is finished, verification successful, eboot.nbo has been flashed.
Unplug all, assemble your FLAME, plug AC-cable and turn on power.
Device is starting with error ERR-003A. (FOTO)
If you see message "battery is too low" - please wait for some time...and press reset again ))))
Ok.
8. Put micro-SD card in to your cardreader and run SDFormatter. Select "Full format".
9. Copy the following files to card: diskimage.nb0, eboot.nb0 (for example from my FlameRecoveryTools) end empty files-passwords rerr003a.kez and 1xdtgklo.kez.
10. Put card into device and start upgrade (press and hold soft-buttons (- and -) and press reset.
11. Finish!.
Insert the accumulator into place and turn on FLAME.
Enjoy the working device!

Throught JTAG you can recovery any device. If you don't find scheme of contacts JTAG for your device in the Internet, you will have to make everything by yourself. HP has very individual scheme of contacts JTAG. That is why there is the only way - to bring your device (or you can by the same one but spoiled) to a good service center to unsold processor, find contacts JTAG and sold processor back. of cource they should do it with the guaranty of device safety.
Further is easier -knowing the contacts, you can sold contacts for JTAG and flash the device. I can help you with software. Wright a private message, I'll give you my e-mail.
Good Luck and never give up!

could you please tell me how you could extract the bootloader for flame from the upgrade utility provided by O2
also i have a dead stealth --> could you share your insight as to what might the JTAG pin structure for this model
i have highlighted my thoughts in red --> i think these are active pins

Days after kept it off unused, I turned it on, M2D intiated but then suddenly it automatically did a hard reset by itself. Upon completion, it started that hard reset process again and again so I have to unplug the battery. And that was the end of it.

Does the Galaxy S Download Mode Dongle Mod work on Omnia 7??
---------------------------------------------------------------
Anyone tried this yet? As they are both Samsung devices it has got to be worth a shot!
Please, Please somebody try this and post the results.
Solved!
It has now been confirmed that the Resistor Jig used to bump the Galaxy S into download mode also works on the Omnia 7!
Thanks to Daleski75 for being brave enough to try this!
Click the link below to take you straight to the Galaxy S thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=819551
It works exactly the same way on our Omnia 7 as it does on the Galaxy S.
Now we can enter Download Mode without having to use the 3 Button Combo!
Once a new firmware is flashed the bootloader will also be overwritten which will also re-enable the 3 Button Combo.

If I understand what you're saying. We first plug the jtag, the omnia enters download mode, then ? unplug the jtag and plug in the normal usb cable and flash the rom with a new bootloader ? correct ?

Yes that is correct! The phone must be switched OFF when you plug the jig in though.
I would like to offer up a free USB jig to someone with a Omnia 7 that is willing to send me a close up of the phone in download mode using my USB jig.
Here is my jig in a how to video. Please be willing to email me a clear picture once you receive the jig. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2KXBYyf2e28

It's quite easy to make one yourself. I wrote some instructions here (also link to a clear picture). If you can't make it yourself you'll probably know some friend or family who is able to solder this. Components cost only a few Euro's.
If you want to update with USB-JIG I created this simple guide.[/B]

how are you possibly ensuring that you only make contact with the #4 and #5 pin on the micro-usb port on your phone? Also, the instructions say you must use 301K resistor, or a series of resistors that "add" up to 301K, you rig is only 300K
300K is close enough for it to work (most resistors are already up to +/- 5% off anyway).
My Omnia 7 always got stuck when trying to enter download mode. Got 3 100K resistors at radioshack, sticked them together, and minutes later my phone was in download mode and I could oad 7392 on it. Everything has worked great ever since (it also stopped getting stuck on startup screen when battery was completely flat)
Yes, it's working (and without wizardry of any kind).

I just used an SNES-usb adapter I got from amazon 3years ago, connected to the microUSB-USBotg adapter. The amazing thing is, it works in the system itself, you can go in the menus, navigate trough icons and all !
If only I got the HDMI adapter
is your phone rooted/running custom rom ? or just pure stock unmodified ? Mine is stock (4.0.2) and I am not sure if the USB host function is working on mine
I'm running Android Revolution HD, which is based on the stock 4.0.3 kernel but is a 4.0.2 rom. I recently installed a script for the usb host function, but I though it was only for mounting usb-key. Do you have an usb otg adapter ? if you got anything, a mouse, a small keyboard, or an xbox pad (for pc) you can try.

Yes, i have the USB OTG adapter. Tried USB and mouse but it didn't work. I thought it was meant for rooted phone but i could be wrong. Can you link to me the script you installed?
thanks
I'll be damned. I was sure it was a script (which would require you'd get an unlocked bootloader and a recovery anyway), but it's only an app : StickMount. It's quite strange, I see the notification of the app when I plug in a usb key, but not when I connect a keyboard or gaming controller.
I guess it's still better for you if you don't want to unlock your bootloader (for the warranty or something) : you just have to wait for an exploit to get root & superuser on your phone.
Sorry that doesn't work unrooted... :/
Pretty much thought that I need to root the phone to use this feature.
Thanks for sharing though.

USB host for keyboard/mouse/gamepad is fully supported in the stock 4.0.2.
If you have 4.0.2 and USB host doesn't works, it means that the cable is not a relly USB OTG cable, but a simple USB F > MicroUSB M adapter

It is the official samsung one and it has been working for everyone with root installed.
Honeycomb and ICS have native support for USB gamepads. I actually use my Nostromo game pad and it works well. You don't need root or a special OTG cable. Just need a converter from USB>MicroUSB.

I would agree with you here, however, when I first got my Note 3 and connected to my MBP (same model as OP), it used to display the option, but ever since NB4 and beyond I haven't ever seen the option again.
The only thing I haven't tried, is launching Android File Transfer before plugging it in to see if that makes a difference, but I uninstalled that due to NE6 (and beyond)'s ability to show the internal and external sdcards as mount points.
