I ran into this problem last week with my Sensation, I'm using CM7 on my phone and I wanted to hook it up to my TV. I found out that gingerbread did not support MHL to HDMI. What I want to know is will I be able to plug my (future) Galaxy Nexus up to my TV?

Yes you can use it on the Nexus on ICS.
Should work fine on Gingerbread too though.

It only works with TouchWiz and Sense, but not for pure Android.
And thank you for that link.

Right now....none.
All the 3.0 stuff was pulled from the shift, which doesn't have hdmi.
Hopefully someone can work some kernel magic, but only time will tell.
Which ROM will be the most stable and can support HDMI???

I've been looking for a ROM that supports HDMI also with Sense 3.0 and android 2.3+ but haven't found one. I had made a NAND backup of my original 2.2 EVO ROM immediately after I rooted and flashed that one and HDMI worked perfectly. Glad I did it, but I don't like having to be on 2.2 with the old Sense. Anyone know if there is an update on any ROM as of lately?
Im wanting to lean how to port roms to my galaxy nexus ie the ics rezound rom. im new to porting and would like some help like links etc on how to do my best in that area, i think there will be a load of people happy with a sense port as there is none out there at the moment so if anyone know the basics please help
It's not possible. I thought the reason people on XDA bought the Nexus was for AOSP.

Nm, u? Me and swamp are working on it, but no build has booted yet. The epic is much harder to port to. I may be able to help you guys on sense though since I know pretty much what swamp does
Would love to see Sense ported - the more options the better imo!

agree!bought nexus for the absence of proprietary-eat-ram-UI.hate all the stuff involved on the classic ui out there, likes touchwiz, sense, motoblur etc etc.
i don't know why lost hours and hours of development to try to port a thing(proprietary UI)that is the major reason why many users choose to buy a ggogle experience phone.i don't want to be rude, tastes are tastes, but i personally dislike all the uis out there.
anyway,if you desire that,i'm glad to will see that someone will have it workin!

Have to agree with you !
I used HTC phones for over 2 years (before GNEX), and i can say im sick of sense/touchwiz and rest manufacturer ui..
I bought this phone so i can make my own ui.
But if OP likes sense, its his taste/needs.. Good luck in finding sense on gnex mate

I have a Sensation running Sense 3.6/ICS and it's no where NEAR as fast as the Nexus on stock ICS
Hey I did some searches and couldn't turn up any solid answers to my questions but is it possible and likely we would get a port of the sense rom to galaxy nexus or is there a reason i don't see a stable version in CDMA Development?
Its possible but unlikely. Most people buy nexus devices to get away from skins.

If it is ported it's likely to be broken.
Sent from my Nexus S 4G using Tapatalk 2
I don't really see the point of porting Sense to a Nexus device. I mean, since it wasn't originally to this device, it will be buggy and probably never run smoothly. Sense is very beautiful, in my opinion, but it's bloated beyond usage.
On a completely unrelated note, my favorite two ROMs for the Galaxy Nexus are AOKP for its customizability, and CM9 for being, well, CM9.
True that, thanks for all your imput! I guess also since sense is HTC it would also work easier if it wasn't a samsung...I just thought it would be interesting if you could have the launcher and widgets minus the bloatware apps.

I like simplicity at its best.
I can recommend buying Beautiful Widgets!
For those saying a sense port would never work on a nexus or would run buggy check out the nexus s 4g dev section.
I just switched to a gnex but I believe if they did it on the ns4g it would never be impossible to do it here

You can do USB OTG with the stock ROM but you'll need to root and install StickMount. I just received my US GSM Galaxy Nexus and this is working great for me. Good luck!

I was wondering if the Android Revolution HD 4.0.1 for the Galaxy Nexus work on the SGH-T989. Would it work or not work? Please let me know. I've attached a link to the rom.

Tdj's are better

since each rom is built for the specific phone, no you can't run that without porting it.
TDJ is thederekjay. he is a dev and his roms are beast.
