Try to calibrate and if that doesnt work for you check if the whole touchscreen cable is in the board

Hello my friends ,
i am a new on HTC Desire HD , i bought one from ebay , it is great but :
when i turn off the screen or the screen go to sleep (lock) , the network lost and it gives me (limited service) , and when i log to the mobile again and unlock the screen it comes back with full signal .
the issue here as i am not locking the mobile or turning off the screen the signal is full >>>> only when i am turning off the screen
why is that ? it dose not seem a hardware issue ?
have you tried different rom, radio or kernel.......
Thanks for replying
i tried different radio ,
i tried different rom ,
and no luck
Check if your sim is inserted correctly. I know it sounds stupid give it a go. You be surprised

i did this like fifteen times ,,,, and no pulse
Is the battery cover tight? This would seem weird. Have you tried different sim card

I think that, if you tried more radios and kernels with roms, and the signal was not better, then it seems to be hardware fault...
The touch screen on my phone is completely backwards. Like if I touch something on the left side of the screen it will select something on the right side. I already tried factory reseting a couple of times and wiping everything and flashing CM7 again.
I have a HTC G2 running cm7 7.0.3. Just bought the phone off of craigslist but when I was trying it out it was working perfectly until I got home that's when the touch screen became backwards. Can anyone help me please?
Flah your original nandroid see if that fixes it. Or use superwipeG2, flash a different rom, and see if that fixes your issue

Hey guys,
first of all i really did research but i couldnt find a solution for my problem.
i had cm7 rc1 on my phone suddenly i noticed that my phone powers on but it only shows black screen with the led light of buttons but thats all.i tried to get into recovery mod by pressing volume button and power button but still it is black and i cant get into the mods.
how can i fix my problem?
more than likely replace the lcd and or flex cable, sounds like hardware as hboot has little to do witht the rom @ hand

so is it totally hardware problem? is there anything i can do with some codes or recovery things? or is there way to understand the source of the problem?
bootloader and recovery run independent from the rom, so if you have a black screen here to its hardware. sorry for the bad news. and if you were asking how to tell if its the lcd or the flex the only way to test I know of is to replace on and see if it works

Same problem. On mine, I replaced the LCD and flex cable and still doesn't work. My only guess is that it is either a software problem, or something on the motherboard got fried.
This is a problem that seems to be getting worse and worse for me.
I'm running the stock ROM from HTC on my Desire HD.
When the phone goes to lock and and I press the power button to unlock it, 95% of the time the screen does not come on.
The touch screen is still enabled however, as I can unlock by swiping and make the phone vibrate by pressing the home key, and the back light does come on and off every time I press the power button. But the screen just doesn't come on.
I've read that the DHD has had a lot of problems with the proximity sensor, but I'm not sure that that is my problem as the back light comes on and the touch screen can still be operated blindly.
Any suggestions as to how I might fix it?
Seems to be a hardware issue from the looks of it. Rooted? Which stock firmware?
I bought the xda app. Problem?
If you are s on then there are two things you can try. First I would clear app cache, turn of fastboot and re boot phone. If problem persists then re install ruu.
If you are s off go into recovery and wipe cache and dalvik and see if that works. If not do a backup of your downloaded apps and re install ruu.

Just wanted to check, does your screen come on as normal when you enter hboot?

Thanks for helping out.
the hboot screen has the same intermittent problems as the phone normally does. If I turn it off with the screen working, the hboot screen will probably come on. Though there has been one instance where I was in hboot with the screen not working.
I'm going to try wiping the cache (I'm still s-on) and turning off fastboot.
Here's more details about the phone itself:
Kernel Version:
2.6.35 10-g931a37e
Build Number:
3.13.161.3
Android Version:
2.3.5
I really hope its just a software problem I can sort out myself. Hate sending my phone off the HTC.
Yeah I would try software first. Though since you say it happens in hboot as well it is most likely a hardware issue. Probably not what you want to hear.

Damn, I'll send it off to HTC and let you guys know how it goes
So suddenly out of no where the top part of my M8 stopped working.. Its like the top 1 - 1.5 cm is not responding to anything. I cant pull down the notification bar as an example.
I've tried to reset the device completely and install another rom.. Still not working.. I cannot determine if this is also the case in TWRP since theres nothing to test on op there..
Is there something i can do to make certain its not a software fault? Calibrate the screen ?

It may be caused by your aging digitizer touch screen
As you have installed another rom but it is still not work.
You can try to replace another touch screen or just test it.

Get back to stock and check for the same issue. If you find that the issue persists, a trip to the service center is a must. :good:
