Hey guys,
first of all i really did research but i couldnt find a solution for my problem.
i had cm7 rc1 on my phone suddenly i noticed that my phone powers on but it only shows black screen with the led light of buttons but thats all.i tried to get into recovery mod by pressing volume button and power button but still it is black and i cant get into the mods.
how can i fix my problem?
more than likely replace the lcd and or flex cable, sounds like hardware as hboot has little to do witht the rom @ hand

so is it totally hardware problem? is there anything i can do with some codes or recovery things? or is there way to understand the source of the problem?
bootloader and recovery run independent from the rom, so if you have a black screen here to its hardware. sorry for the bad news. and if you were asking how to tell if its the lcd or the flex the only way to test I know of is to replace on and see if it works

Same problem. On mine, I replaced the LCD and flex cable and still doesn't work. My only guess is that it is either a software problem, or something on the motherboard got fried.

Hey Guys,
My Power Button is not working anymore...
Therefore the only way for me to power off my phone is using the battery pull method, yes i know...that's just super ghetto.
Anyways, I was planning on opening my phone for a number of reasons, mainly curiosity and attempting to tighten my hinge which has become particularly loose over the past week.
I have consulted the guides in the forum on how to do this, so i am pretty much prepared to do so.
Is there something that I can specifically look for that is causing the power button to not be functional in my phone where I can go inside and perhaps adjust something and fix it.
ex. flex cable such as the one for the touch panel and led.
On a side note: My in-ear speaker seems to also have some problems, for it does not output sound as loud as it should. It is very faint, however the external speaker and the usage of headphones is fine.
Any Solutions?
Thanks in advance bros.
this isn't much help but, out of curiosity , how do you turn your phone on then if your power button doesn't work?
battery out and in lol...
the phone ends up booting up so, yeah.
the annoying part is that I want to install ROM's and stuff but without a functional power button I don't think I will be able to do that .
I am trying to look for some sort of location within the phone that is responsible for the function of the button which is connected to the digitizer/lcd.
Hopefully it is replaceable...
Your phone boots when you put in the battery, without you having to press the power button?
Sounds like you have some serious hardware issues. If your warranty is still in effect, you should send it for repair or replacement. If you open the phone and void the warranty, and you can't fix the problems, you're screwed.

If your rooted and using clockworkrecovery this is a known issue but it will take effect after you plug in your phone for charging

The misunderstanding is that you failed to mention that your phone is plugged into the charger when doing the battery pull.
Open up your phone, fix the wire, reconstruct than test.
LOL man that's funny what happens when ur phone dies how do u get it back on.......do you think the rom ur using is causeing the problem and you also don't need power button to install new roms just click install from sd card in rom manager

My dhd volume buttons stopped working a while ago (unless u press really hard). I ordered a new button and it arrived a month later, now even with the new button, they r not working .
Also pushing the buttons with a pencil tip (without the volume rocker) still doesn't make it respond easily...almost completely dead
What am I supposed to do to fix it? DIY possible? Any suggestions are much appreciated.
Thx.

Probably while replacing the buttons u might hv damaged the motherboard flex cable which holds the volume keys from inside. I think u might need to replace it sorry.

I had the same issue, but after numerous rom flashes and updates it started working again...
Same with my WIFI it stooped working after on OTA update and now it works even better than it did before again due to flashing numerous roms...
I guess some of the good stuff justs sticks, but beware also some of the bad, as my 3G will not work on Jellytime and Icecreame Sandwich so I'm trying to flash a radio from SABSA Rom and hoping it will work
Hi,
The touch screen in my wildfire s is not responding properly. Sometimes while using the phone, some touch feature gets clicked automatically, for e.g. when I am using the camera, the home button gets clicked automatically and it comes to the home page or some time the search window pops up automatically from no where. Rooting the device or putting a custom rom din't help.
Please help me to know whether I need to change some hardware from the service center or does this prob has some soft fixes?? Any body else having the similar kinda prob??

I've had similar things happen on my Wildfire S, but only under 2 conditions:
1. When my fingers/ the screen are wet. It tends to think i've pressed every button on the screen.
2. When the phone is overheated.
So if it's either of those problems, the first one is common sense to fix (dry yo' hands). The second probably means you're using too much RAM. Use a task manager to see if you have any RAM hogs.. It's probably neither of those, but it's the best I can do.
I've had a couple wfs that had problems similar to the ones that you are having. I just took the phone back because it was under warranty. Touch screen problems is a hardware issue that can't be fixed by flashing a ROM but sometimes it can but it depends. In your situation I would take the phone back if its under warranty. Is your phone new? When did you start experiencing this problem? Hope this helps.

I don't think that is the case with me as sometimes it happens just after the restart of the phone also. Some time it stops responding completely. But when I lock the screen and unlock it again through the power button, it starts responding properly. Can be a hardware issue. Is changing the digitizer gonna help? (I dnt have much knowledge about the hardware though.. )

Hello everyone, About 6 months ago I cracked my screen on my phone. I used it for about 3 months after that until the LCD went black. The phone still booted and I can hear notifications coming through, so I figured it was a hardware problem with the LCD. Today I replaced the LCD and it is still just a black screen, and I can hear it booting just fine. I would like to try to restore my phone to factory setting to see if that will help. How can I do so without using the LCD? Does anyone know what other problems this could be? I appreciate the help
It has a custom rom install, I am trying to remember what it is so I can post it on here. I think because its custom I will not be able to use KIES

If you can't even see a boot logo when you first turn it on, restoring factory rom won't help sadly. You have deeper hardware issues then you initially thought ( mainboard possibly or a bad new lcd ).

U can try putting the phone into dl mode by turning it off and holding vol+vol- while plugging it into PC, give it a second and press vol+ then open odin amd see if it connected, if it did flash stock rom with Odin, now just so u know this is a long shot as I doubt it'll help but worth a shot always

Hi guys I wonder if you can help me. My friend broke his Wildfire S screen and asked me if I could fix it. I got a new glass / digitiser from eBay and replaced the screen. All look fine to me so I took it back to him.
It seems since replacing the screen the phone sometimes refuses to wake up when clicking the lock button, or when an inbound call arrives. The phone rings but there is no sign of life other than the ringing noise. If you then plug in the charger the screen will turn on and you can use the phone as normal. I've tried a factory reset on it but nothing seems to help.
I haven't replaced the LCD just the glass/digitiser, and can't think of a reason in doing so would break other functions of the phone. Can anyone help or suggest what might be the problem here? I'm a competent repairer and have replaced the screens on many Laptops, iPhone's and iPad's but this is my first encounter with a HTC.
I believe it is a stock ROM branded O2 - Details from the phone are ...
Android Version - 2.3.5
HTC Sense Version - 2.1
Software Number - 2.26.206.1
Kind Regards

i have a similar problem,
I have replaced the digitizer but the phone doesnt start. I press the lock buttom and the phone vibrates, but the screen is black, nothing apears...
What can i do?
I would like to know...
I've no idea been trying for ages, I'd like to try a newer ROM but can't get the phone in to S-OFF.
I've done the whole HTC Dev thing and unlocked the boot loader etc, but can't find a stock rom / RUU that will flash to it.
And here's me thinking this site was going to be helpful and full of people who knew what they were talking about!
