The touch screen on my phone is completely backwards. Like if I touch something on the left side of the screen it will select something on the right side. I already tried factory reseting a couple of times and wiping everything and flashing CM7 again.
I have a HTC G2 running cm7 7.0.3. Just bought the phone off of craigslist but when I was trying it out it was working perfectly until I got home that's when the touch screen became backwards. Can anyone help me please?
Flah your original nandroid see if that fixes it. Or use superwipeG2, flash a different rom, and see if that fixes your issue

Hey guys, I've searched and already found how to unroot and everything, but in my case, I have a broken screen so I can't visually see anything. I'm sending it into HTC but I don't want them realizing its been rooted anyway.
I have changed the bootup T-Mobile screen so there is no annoying sound... I don't know if that might throw them off.
I've tried androidscreencast but it won't load in recovery mode, only in normal mode.
It's running CR_Mod_1.35.531_OTA Full ROM
Any suggestions?
Thanks.
Just send it back...I sent my original slide back due to camera being fuzzy and it was rooted with custom bootscreen and rom and nothing happened.. I did the same thing with a G1 years ago

First off, this has nothing to do with android development, it belongs in the Q&A section.
Secondly, you can get into recovery without your touch screen just fine. While your phone is off, hold vol down + power, which will bring you into hboot. Use vol down to highlight recovery, and then press power to select it.
If you do not have s-off, you will see a screen with a !. Press vol up + power, and flash update.zip (assuming you have clockwork update.zip on the root of your sd card), and then proceed to reflash your rom.
If you do have s-off, the hboot recovery option should take you straight into recovery.
WTF I have the same problem! It just ramdomly started yesterday, I touchscreem wouldn't work on opened keyboad and today afternoon I was typing something, after I closed the keyboard the touch screen doesn't work anymore!!!

This should be moved to another thread, Nothing to do with Android development
Ok DO NOT RE-FLASH A NEW ROM if your are in this situation!!!!
because I tried it and still touch planel doesn't work and I was stuck at the setup!!, thank God I recently saved a Nandroid backup, but when i went to ClockworkMod the optical track pad is no longer working neighter!!!
so I couldn't select anything!
I went to cmd on my PC and did adb shell then nandroid restore {location in sdcard}
it restored oh yes!
Optical Track Pad aiin't working neighter touch panel, like this i can hardly make calls with the keyboard, launch apps, but can't handle things that require touch or optical pad.... I can only use Tab button and enter to do little.
Fu...I need to revert everything back to stock adn get my waranty replacement..
why this had to happen?? I haven't done anything these past week :S
This happened to me also I posted my thread in q&a i believe tho, anyways tho my power button stopped working so i couldn't get into recovery. If you need a way to get back to stock without touch screen use the esprimg.zip from the factory rom champion build thread just search for it on xda. after going stock mine was still not working but I was atleast able to do a warranty exchange. hope this helps at all. Oh also this happened to me soon after flashing to CM7.
The same happend to mine a few months ago, your flex ribbon has torn, you have to send it into T-Mobile for an exchange!
Also, wrong forum

Not sure if its the same issue or not. But my screen will become unresponsive and soon after which ever launcher I am using will crash. Also using CM7. Was running nightly build before. Hmmm strange all of a sudden several of our phones started crashing..
You can still slide open and use the physical keyboard to select things...however I would get the stock esprimg on your device as soon as possible. Your ribbon could tear even more and leave you with a black screen and no luck of getting a replacement if you are with a custom rom.

The last thing I did before I also experienced this, was that I tried to get S-Off and couldn't make it, rebooted but everything was fine, and before that I had gave a try to CynogenMod 7.... Days later I was experiencing 20kbps download and later the touch panel failed also the optical pad, so I unrooted before it'd get worst, I got my warranty replacement and now I better send the damaged one back before 7 days, otherwise they charge me $200.

Hi all
My lock screen is going crazy. Every time I lock the phone, and the screen goes off, it immediately comes back on again - just like I've pressed the power button. It's very odd. The phone actually reboots if I press the power button a couple of times.
Any suggestions? I've even reinstalled the rom bit it's still happening.
I've checked the timeout and it's set to 30 seconds. Also there are no apps running and no animated wallpaper. There is no issue with the power button - the phone works fine apart from this.
I'm running CM7 on my HTC Desire. Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks
Jonny

Yes still happens. ALso installed a new rom from scratch. Still happens!
Very bizarre. Incidentally my down-volume button on the rocker no longer works. And reboots are more frequent, mostly when the phone has been locked for a few seconds and I press the power button...
I've screwed about with it a lot over the year so I think I'd like to unroot and install stock HTC rom again. I'd like to give it to my Dad when I get my galaxy nexus anyway.
Are there any instructions/steps available detailing how to unroot and put back to the factory rom?
Thanks again for all your help.
Jonny
I dont think that will fix it. Sounds like a hardware issue on the motherboard. Perhaps water damage...
But yes, search for RUU to return to stock. You can use the GB 2.3.3 one from HTCDev.com
Having read your first post I thought it was the accelometer that might be faulty, but now I'm not sure. As the previous user said it may be water damage.
To remove root, just install the latest official RUU. Normally found in the Android Dev Forums
I have a problem with my Wildfire S Marvel screen. Sometimes the buttons are pressed automatically and sometimes it does not respond. Usually, locking and unlocking will solve the problem until it happens again. Sometimes even when I boot in Clockwork Rom Manager bootloader the options are chosen automatically. I already did a factory reset and installed various ROMS (jikantaru, hense and cm7) but same results. Any ideas?
Thanks
mee toooooooo
urgh...me too having the same problem.....most of the times touch doesnot work....so decided to send it to htc care center.....
I had the same problem, its a hardware issue, I had a lot of problems with my wildfire s, ive gone through 2 phones now on my 3rd.
1st-music skips and stops by its self
2nd-phone would deep sleep during a call and touch screen wouldn't respond at all
3rd-still good . Knock on wood
If I were you I would get it fixed, send it in and let HTC deal with it, since your rooted then restore it back to factory specifications so its still under warranty

This is a problem that seems to be getting worse and worse for me.
I'm running the stock ROM from HTC on my Desire HD.
When the phone goes to lock and and I press the power button to unlock it, 95% of the time the screen does not come on.
The touch screen is still enabled however, as I can unlock by swiping and make the phone vibrate by pressing the home key, and the back light does come on and off every time I press the power button. But the screen just doesn't come on.
I've read that the DHD has had a lot of problems with the proximity sensor, but I'm not sure that that is my problem as the back light comes on and the touch screen can still be operated blindly.
Any suggestions as to how I might fix it?
Seems to be a hardware issue from the looks of it. Rooted? Which stock firmware?
I bought the xda app. Problem?
If you are s on then there are two things you can try. First I would clear app cache, turn of fastboot and re boot phone. If problem persists then re install ruu.
If you are s off go into recovery and wipe cache and dalvik and see if that works. If not do a backup of your downloaded apps and re install ruu.

Thanks for helping out.
the hboot screen has the same intermittent problems as the phone normally does. If I turn it off with the screen working, the hboot screen will probably come on. Though there has been one instance where I was in hboot with the screen not working.
I'm going to try wiping the cache (I'm still s-on) and turning off fastboot.
Here's more details about the phone itself:
Kernel Version:
2.6.35 10-g931a37e
Build Number:
3.13.161.3
Android Version:
2.3.5
I really hope its just a software problem I can sort out myself. Hate sending my phone off the HTC.
Yeah I would try software first. Though since you say it happens in hboot as well it is most likely a hardware issue. Probably not what you want to hear.
