[Q] Recover pictures? - Samsung Epic 4G Touch

Somewhere in the process of rooting, creating a nandroid backup, backing up apps and data with My Backup Pro, flashing a rom, and flashing back to a nandroid backup, I lost all of my pictures but all my videos were saved. Now, when I look in the location where my pictures are stored, all the pictures filenames show up but with 0kb file size and when I long press on a picture it says invalid file. I've tried Recuva and Hexamob to recover the pictures but neither have worked. Thoughts?

[Q] Question about revolutionary-0.4pre4 in Desire

Hi,
I have been using revolutionary-0.4pre4 Backup and Restore and it works fine. But every backup takes a lot of space in my SD. How can I deleted one backup without affecting the others?
Best regards and thanks!
they are saved in /sdcard/clockworkmod/backup
each backup will be contained in its own folder, listed by date if it's the same recovery flashed when you used revolutionary.
to save even more space on your sd, i would recommend moving the entire folders and saving the last few somewhere safe on your PC. if you're even more paranoid you could even back them up online to dropbox/box/google drive. it's much safer to have a few recent nandroid backups just in case
to restore, simple copy the entire folders back into /sdcard/clockworkmod/backup
(a minor point if you rename your nandroid folders, don't put any spaces in them otherwise i don't think they restore)

help restoring nandroid backup..phone out of order(resolved)

hello. so i did a nandroid backup of my rooted el29 gingerbread + cwm epic 4g phone a week ago. it created a folder on my external sd card (sdcard/external sd/sdc2012-06-2012 folder) ive also continously made titanium backups of the apps + sys data. so i let a friend uninstall a system app(id bloatware) just to prove it could be uninstalled but dont like that i get error messages now sometimes when accessing email, etc. i tried a titanium backup but it hangs for 5min. now im trying a nandroid restore in cwm v5.0.2.7. where is a good guide for this? i went to restore but it keeps saying "error opening directory. No files found." i dunno what directory its searching but clearly not the correct one as i verified almost 700MB of data on external sd card. ive wiped data, cache so it only boots to "samsung logo screen." i also have a backup nandroid on my server so how to i get it to actually restore?
06-12-2012 update: crisis averted. i remember doing advanced backup w/ cwm recovery originally so i just did regular backup. it created a directory cwm/backup/new folder. i put the files from original advanced backup over to correct location and restore did it!! this is just like the acronis images i do for my pc's. what a wonderful thing!!

Restore pictures folder

Hello
I just change the ROM, and I realized that I was missing pictures, probably a folder that was not on the SD card (I did wipe all expect SD card).
And i saw my GoBackup app (premium), did not backup these photos ..
But I have a nandroid backup, complete.
How can I restore my photos only? (knowing that I restored the file / data, but there is nothing. Is there an app that takes care of backups and restores what we want?
Regards
I was on Jellytime 4.1.2, now in Unofficial SR1.1 4.2.2
PS : i repost the thread here, because was on the wrong section .
You can extract only specific files from backup with ROM Toolbox ... it support backups from all recoveries CWM, TWRP, 4EXT,...
Do you think it's possible to restore only pictures ?

Wechat screwed up after titanium backup and restore

I asked previously about backing up before restoring to stock, didn't get any replies so I winged it. Anyway, I ended up taking a titanium backup +data backup of wechat. The result was 3 files, the 27mb apk, 300 mb tar.gz data file, and a small file. I also used a wifi ftp app to backup the /tencent/ folder in /sdcard/ which was 3+ GB. I flashed to stock and then used titanium backup to restore the app and data, and then I added tencent to a zip archive, transferred it to the nexus and unzipped it in /sdcard/ again. When I started wechat and signed in again, all the pictures were either grey boxes, or corrupted rainbow icons. The custom emoticons were all missing, among other things. Basically the only thing that survived were the text logs. Any ideas? What could I be doing wrong? Are there other places data was hiding out? Was the ftp wifi app unreliable? Is it a problem with permissions or owner?

Restore Backup From SDCard?

I couldn't restore the backup I made from my sdcard. I kept getting 'can't find backup.img' error or something. Anyway, I still have the ~2gb backup with files like "cache.ext4.tar", "data.ext4.tar", etc. I just want to get my contacts' phone numbers, and find out what theme I was using. I already reinstalled everything. Is this possible? If so, how?
I would also like to restore my firefox profile if possible.
Are you using the same recovery? Have you moved the backup? It should be in sdcard/twrp/backups/ "serial number"/name of backup. If its having trouble finding it, you can move it to internal storage. Put it in the backups folder for twrp on internal.
You can extract apps from a backup, but not contacts or accounts. If you keep your contacts synced to Google they will always come back when you log in.
