Wrong place to ask this question. Try q&a. Maybe partition your sd.

Yes, you will get flamed for being in wrong forum so be prepared.
Anyways, the Google package should allow for selective installing IF you are in fact referring to gapps? Also are you running a2sd? If not try that, there shouldn't be any reason you are out if space unless you have a TON of apps. Post a screen cap of your space.
Try A2SD: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1158993
I set the partition to 512mb Ext3 and it's working fine. I never have memory problems now.
A clean install of CM7 should have tons of space left..... I have ran that build and installed around 20-30 apps and still didn't tap out. Stick to CM's site for Q&A and youtube for demonstrations before posting in a dev forum.....

Ok, so I finally upgraded to Android 2.2 and moved all my applications (except a few that don't work like that) over to my SD Card thanks to the hack.
Yet I still only have 43MB/147MB...Whats the deal?
Go into Manage Applications and delete data and cache of your apps. The Dolphin browser had something like 50mb of user data for me. Stopped using it now

its because you using legacy apps2sd as apposed to apps2sd+, legacy apps2sd only stores the .apk on the sd card, where as apps2sd+ moves alot more of the program data and cache' to the sd card

that rom dosent have apps2sd+ i suggest if you want more disk space, you try a rom with apps2sd+, like leedroid or nextsence but remember it wont work if you dont create an ext partition on your sd card

Well, eventually we won't need Mod Install or apps2sd+ to do it right, developers will make there apps do it auto? no...
Seems like I have enough space right now, much more then I did before hand, with 2.1. So should be fine. I just found it weird.
*and no way to add apps2sd+ to this ROM?

How does one go about installing Apps2SD+ manually, without resorting to flashing a custom rom (as there are some members here who, like myself, prefer stock roms)?

if your rooted you just need an apps2sd update.zip and flash it from recovery, becareful tho most of the ones ive seen on google are for eclair and wont work with froyo, maybe post a thread in the android development section asking someone to make you one, it wont take a skilled person long

I am rooted (via UnRevoked), and have even got a nice class 6 card already partitioned and waiting.
Surely if it wouldn't take a skilled person long to do it someone would have done it by now? I've seen a few requests in these forums since Froyo was released asking how to install apps2sd, and yet they all either get ignored or pointed towards a custom rom. It's almost as if the people who know how to do it want to keep the secret to themselves!
Hello all,
first I'm sorry for my poor english. I will do my best.
I have my Xperia Play since 1 month and I have change the SD card from 8 to 32 Go. I have many place to stock all the things and the RAM free is great. But the intern memory is less than 24 Mo when it's started.
I have install and use App to SD to do the best but there is the same problem.
How to please to have more free intern memory ? (it's a problem when I must download a think from android market and install an update for example).
Thanx.
Heads up, internal memory and RAM are the same thing in android. So I'm not really sure what you're asking since you say RAM is fine but internal memory isn't....

How can Ram and internal memory be the same thing? I have 270mb free memory but often low on ram when open too many apps
Anyways OP, you can look up on the Dalvik hack, not sure whether you need rooted phone or not..

He's talking about internal storage, not internal "memory".
Try rooting the phone and getting rid of bloatware. Also, some roms take up less space than others. I found there is more internal storage after the updates.

Because Ram and memory is the same thing! Storage or disk space has nothing to do with memory.

Guys you're arguing semantics here. The guy stated English wasn't his first language and he's quite clearly talking about internal storage, especially when he mentioned his SD card. Quit arguing about the difference between memory and storage.
Not mine either, that's why I understood exactly what he said

TS, try to use link2sd, but before you use that you need to root your device and create a partition of your sd card..

Thanx a lot but Titanium is not easy to configure : I must be "rooted" but I don't know how. Installing BusyBox and SuperUser don't change that.

Not really a big upgrade... just a new modem and completely removed carrier iq... new call screen... just flash one of the el30 custom roms and try it out... I'm running sleeper... cm9 is AMAZING though and if you haven't tried it I suggest you do... viper rom is also planning on releasing an aosp ics rom too! Epic is getting some love from the devs these days! Just make a backup of your current setup and flash away... if you don't like it, your current setup is just a restore away!

thanks i did it. but i miss my legendary. which one are you running? would i be able to ask qbking 77 what he is running. or is that a rule that we cant ask?
another question
it may be a dumb one. but when i restore my app. and i move them back to my sd card is the app being double? or is it just replacing the app from before?

AFAIK, the app is not "doubled" but moved from the internal memory to the SD card, or at least as much is possible to be moved
If unsure, check your internal space before moving the app, and then after, and you should see additional space on the internal after the moving of the APP to the SD card
To answer both your questions qbking77 is currently running CM9 but changes often to make videos so may be on 5 different ROMs in one day.
If your apps are in the system\app folder it replaces them. If your app is somehow in the \data folder and you flash something that adds it to the system folder you will have 2 copies.

thanks again. with the rom you running do all your apps work? i have the rom on my sd card. have not flash it not sure if all the apps will still work. i have cm9 on my touchpad. just waiting on the fixes to hit.
and on question i know it is a noob question. but how can i change my signature. lol
I tried upgrading my system with Link2SD installed (CM7 nightly), but after I done that, every application that has been previously linked to SD, is invisible to the sytem. I am only left with generic android shortcuts that don't work.
I tried reinstalling boot scripts, quick rebooting - nothing worked.
I cannot afford reinstalling system from scratch every time I upgrade it, because I have too many things installed. This has never been a problem when I was using DT A2SP.
I hope someone can help me with that, unless the only way to do that is to go back to DTA2SD.
Have an ext partition. Flash CM7. Download S2E app on Google play. Configure S2E settings, Reboot.
via xda app
Why s2e? Is it better than Link2SD or DTap2SD? And if so, why is it better?
I believe s2e is specifically designed for cm7. It is very easy to install and configure. I've been using it for a while now and have not had any problems. DL from market and give it a try ;-)

Because it works. Its fool proof and flexible unlike Dark Tremor you can move back things around with ease (provided that there is still enough space on the phone).

How is DT less flexible? As far as I can see, S2E has the same options, minus swap and zip align that DT has.
S2E can move application data if you want to. I can't remember if DT has that feature as well.

I just tried to install an APK from Root Browser and it says there isnt enough memory yet in my apps settings it says i have 1.8 GB left..
I have the exact same issue, I have like this:
==============================
System storage: 1.97 GB Free
USB Storage : 11.25 GB Free
SD Card : 29.81 GB Free
==============================
I'm on Stock ICS 4.0.3, rooted and debloated.
Can it be that one of the "bloatware" that I deleted can make apps misread the free space info?
Thanks for any ideas you might have about this.
This my be really stupid. But maybe it's talking about RAM?

@alphadog32 this was my exact assumtion when reading main title..
@OP Have you tryed wiping cache/Fixing permissions?
Side note, try a different app (astro, root explorer, myfiles, etc, & ensure 'unknown sources' is checked in security options,
Keep in mind, even root applicagions, if not running in elevated mode, can't even read /data typically make sure if its a root installer (most probable method is copyin to /data)
Ensure root mode is on, if not, that might simply be your issue..
I always have around 350 MB of Ram,
The odd thing is that today I was able to install any app I wanted, without any problems.
I didn't even reboot since yesterday. I have no idea what is different from 12 hours ago.
Thanks for all your help.

Okay lots of replies to reply to but..
No it was talking about storage space, cause it had a radio button to "manage applications" on the error window. not about RAM
Yes i wiped all caches and fixed permissions.
Yes i used lucky patcher (i believe this is where the issue was)
But i solved it,
I began just randomly browsing my data partition using root explorer, and i found a .odex file ( i believe generated by lucky patcher) and after i deleted that file, everything is working again
If it's not to much trouble, can you tell us the name of the file and where exactly is it?
Thanks

if you use lucky patcher just open it and it will say as a notfication unused odex found and deleted.
