Is there anyway to set up YouMail so that when I receive a voice mail on my HTC Touch it will react as if I was still using Verizon Wireless' voice mail system?
or better yet. Visual voice mail
Thank you.
I'm guessing you probably already know by now, but YouMail now has what you're looking for, but not for free.
I've got my YouMail configured not to notify me via VM indicator or SMS, but to just email me the message. Since I'm using Exchange OTA sync, I get the MP3 within seconds.
I have the Dash with mobile 6.1 and I want to email a photo from my device instead of picture texting it. It won't allow me to type in an email because all letters are disabled from the send to box. I can't type an email at all I have looked all over the options to try to find an option to allow me to email the photo instead of sending mms to a phone. Is there a secret behind this? why does windows mobile make this so hard? I've had many other phones that weren't windows mobile and I've never once had this issue?
If you have an email set up in your device just compose an email and insert you picture.

Well I thought about that but it's a prepaid phone and not service so I can't do that it will eat my minutes up to fast.
well there ya go. email is data. Do you have data on your prepaid? If not then you cant email.
setup the email address in your contacts, then you will be able to select emails, however without a data plan you wont be able to send them.
Is there a way to use MSN, AOL, Yahoo messagers using the unlimited messaging plan? The play says it allows it, but the Dash (6.1 upgraded) only wants to do it over data (wifi or data plan). I know normal phones have the messager apps that work over text plan.
Thank You.
Sorry, another question
For some reason I am unable to send MMS to email addresses. The keyboard seems locked to numbers. Is there any way around this or another MMS client I can use for sending?
Edit:
Found a work around, you can select an email address from your contacts and send that way. Odd.

In response to your first question, I think those apps are very operator specific because in most cases the operator has to have a gateway for managing SMS to the IM server.
There is (I think in the Wiki) a version of a messenger utility that uses SMS for T-Mobile USA but presumably the phone number to send the messages to is hard-coded so unless you can change it, it's probably fairly useless.

Can someone tell me how receive emails instantly, without using that send & receive command, only gives me the option to send & receive every 5 minutes.
If my computer can receive emails instantly, so should my TP2.
Plz Help
You are looking for push email. Windows Mobile supports push email for Windows Live accounts (ie Hotmail) and Microsoft Exchange Server accounts.
Recently, Google announced Exhange support for Gmail. It's not perfect though. Google is working on the bug that won't let you see attachments.

I am not able to send emails from my Road Runner email account. Am getting 530 and 535 error messages. I can receive emails fine. Contacted RR and they gave me the correct outgoing server settings. Authentication still failed when sending a message. Tech said that is weird that the outgoing authentication will not recognize my user name and password, yet the incoming settings do because I am receiving emails. Was sent to a 2nd level tech. Still couldn't get it to work. He said to contact Samsung because there is something with how Samsung configures the settings. I called Samsung but email techs are not there on the weekend. Is anyone else using RR email and able to send messages? Or if you had problems sending email and resolved it, how was that corrected? Thanks.
I'm in SC and Roadrunner here does not allow off network use of their smtp server. So in short unless you are sending from a Roadrunner ip address it's going to reject the connection. Maybe that is your issue as well?
I got around it by using gmail as my outgoing mail server. You can go into your gmail settings and there is an option to show the email as sent from Roadrunner rather than gmail so if people reply the email will come back through your Roadrunner account.
Road Runner in my area allows mobile access to email. The outgoing server is mobile-smtp.roadrunner.com with a dedicated port number. Using the mobile protocol, I still get a failed message that states "requires authentication." Surely others are using RR email on this phone. Would be great if someone using RR could provide some feedback.
