Have a look at the lists in The Complete Comprehensive List of System Apps for Xperia Arc (Updated) and Remove Junk Apps + List (4.0.A.2.368, 4.0.1.A.0.283 & 4.0.2.A.0.42).

Is this just for the Arc or does it also apply to the ArcS?

Applications Safe To Remove

If you find applications which are safe to remove from the ROM, please post them here, along with what functionality is lost, including which "app" as it shows in the drawer, gets removed.
I will try to compile a big list in uniform format later on. Please only post if you have actually tested it.
Spreadsheet Of Applications Removable
I have removed all the hub apps social hub, music hub, game hub, etc using root explorer method I can confirm that it is safe to remove these with no problems system/apps is where they are.
would love a full list of this, i think this is going to be a commonly asked question. i'm still not 100% what i should be getting rid off
I've frozen or removed all of the above and AP Mobile, Yahoo finance, AccuWeather, Buddies now and Video maker with no issues using AntTek App Manager.

what sort of functionality loss this you notice? Can you please tell us, i'm planing to get rid of most of stock apps when i get the phone but like to know what will be affected.
So.
Being a new android user, I messed around with my phone without a full understanding of what would happen if i uninstalled a core application. I assumed incorrectly that Titanium Backup would allow me to reinstall applications, and then uninstalled the stock clock application thinking that it was one of the many clock widgets.
Could someone upload their stock Clock application apk here, or advise me as to how I can restore the stock clock without having to flash the original ROM?
Do you mean this apk?
i'm no expert either but if its the one you deleted then pushing it back via adb should do the trick.

Anyway to remove the Agenda widget? Can't find that anywhere in Titanium...
I think its part of one of the calendar listings. One is the set of widgets and one is the calendar app. Whatever one doesn't have "open" available when you click on it is the set of Widgets.

Sorry this might sound stupid, but how do you remove the default apps (eg Yahoo finance)
I have a rooted, Galaxy S2 on generic firmware (initially O2 branded). I have root explorer installed

What are your must have apps?

Switching over from the iphone 3gs, this is my first android phone. What are some must have apps I should get? Thanks
edit: btw I have searched around, but a lot of lists are from Feb, May, etc., and who knows if something new has come up that replaces the best of yesteryear (I sure don't).

- airport mania 2 (PAID, great game, i love playing it)
- amazon appstore (you can get a free app per day from this appstore, they have some great apps for free sometimes, even $5+ for FREE) [NOT in market, on your phone browser, download from "https://www.amazon.com/app-sms"]
- appbrain (great app for remembering ur app names, n easy download... if u ever need 2 factory reset or get a new phone... works great if ur NOT ROOTED, meaning u dont have titanium backup)
- autostarts (PAID APP, ROOT ONLY... tells u exactly wat app starts during diff situations, such as "phone power on, screen turn off, screen turn on, wifi on/off, etc, every situation possible"... n u can STOP THIS APP FROM STARTING in w.e. situation... great app IMO)
- barcode scanner (great for scanning codes, QR codes, n all dat good stuff)
- beautiful widgets (PAID APP, great for weather on homescreen widgets_ free alternative i like: simi clock widget)
- catch notes (great for saving notes, also backs up ur notes online, so u never lose them)
- download all files (something you have an attachment in gmail, and you cannot download it, this app lets you download that attachment)
- dropbox (every1 should know what this is)
- gas buddy (find cheap gas around you)
- google music (must be invited to GM, once ur invited, u can upload ur music 2 the cloud, and never have 2 carry it with u again, need data to listen to music)
- groupon (find great deals in your area on lots of things)
- how to tie a tie (great app for those that cannot tie a tie)
- key ring reward cards (great for saving all the key cards u have)
- launcher pro (IMO, the best alternative launcher, simple and amazing launcher)
- lookout (must have security app, most important feature the MISSING DEVICE feature, in case u ever lose ur phone)
- mighty text (install chrome "mighty text" extension as well, and u can reply/compose to texts from chrome, without ever lifting up ur phone)
- mr number (awesome app if u get lots of 1800 call u dont want 2 get... every time a new # calls u, u have the option to BLOCK that number, n dey can never call u again)
- netflix (every1 should know wat this is)
- plants v zombies (PAID, awesome game, i love playing it)
- qik (if u wanna JUST VIDEO CHAT, this work well... best alternatives i use: skype and yahoo)
- ringdroid (easy to use app to create ringtones from music in ur phone)
- root explorer (PAID, free alternative: es file explorer)
- skyfire (IMHO, the best browser available, there are many of those though)
- spare parts (awesome app for telling u EXACTLY wat used ur battery and lots of other cool features)
- titanium backup (ROOT ONLY, a must have app if your rooted, helps u backup ur apps, u NEED this if ur rooted, cant live without it)
- xda (premium!?) (must have app to access xda, recommend premium version to support xda, there is free n paid version on market)
- watch dog (great free alternative to spare parts, since spare parts BATTERY HISTORY doesnt work on stock GB phones)
- wireless tether (ROOT ONLY, u NEED this app to turn ur phone into a wifi hotspot for FREE, once ur rooted of course)
- zedge (great app for free ringtones and wallpapers, all in 1 place, my personal favorite)

What's New
1.You now have the Installed and All tabs you can swipe between. The former one is what we used to have before - it lists all apps installed on your device. ' The latter lists all apps you've ever installed in case you want to download ' ' hem again or travel down the memory lane. This is quite handy, and I've ' ' ' seen this list before in the Play Store on the web, so it's great to get it here in the mobile app.
2.The All tab contains a handy dropdown with all your accounts (if you added ' ' more than one) and lets you switch between them very easily (as opposed to ' clicking Menu, etc).
3.The list of apps you have purchased but uninstalled or haven't installed yet has moved to the All tab... which means it's now mixed in with the free apps you ' no longer have on the device. I'm not sure how I feel about that - on one ' ' ' hand, I like that it's gone from the first list, but ideally there should be a way ' to filter paid apps from free in the All list. Maybe someday...
4.A few of the stock apps that apparently never got linked to the Play Store ' ' ' before got identified and picked up this time, and updates to such orphans ' ' were waiting for me when I fired the Store up. I've complained about this very bug in my last rant, and it looks like someone listened.
5.Just like in the web Play Store:
- reviews now show the device used by the reviewer
- reviews can now be sorted by Most Helpful first or Newest first
- you can now filter reviews to show ones for the latest version of the app as ' well as made by only the device you are using

R2R Client
Google Play services
synchronization
google contact sync
sync of google calendar
network location
and if you do not use (or using little) play when you can also lock the following:
Playstore (consumed between 10 and 20 mb of ram)
Keyboard (depending which you have installed the ram consuming, and just lock it if the game does not require write anything)
dialer storage (5 to 8 mb)
Marking keyboard (this is the one used to call consumes between 5 and 7 mb)
Download Manager (between 4 and 6 mb)
contact information (between 3 and 7 mb)
I hope I've been of help .. regards
PS: to block these services, there will be more free ram, but if winning performance, because they are services that are not running in the background keychain, keychain nor stored in cache ..

[Q] Multiple app queries for M Dual

Have some queries on multiple apps & would appreciate your inputs guys (M Dual) :
1) The pre-installed application 'appXtra shows 'This service is not available for your location' (For India) - don't understand why it would be preinstalled in Indian model if service is unavailable for India.
2) Bigflix - I needed to know before registering, is there any specific offer from Sony (like how Nokia offers for their handsets as a bundle) if we register from within the phone app.
3) Haven't yet activated McAfee Security - Is this Antivirus & Security as there seems to be no standalone McAfee Security app on Play. Also is this trial version or full featured premium version offered to Xperia buyers?
4) Sony Music (powered by Infibeam), have not yet registered and once again same question for this as well, is there any specific offer from Sony (like how Nokia offers for their handsets as a bundle) if we register from within the phone app.
5) Xperia Link when opened says 'Start the Xperia Link application on your PC', where do we download this from as searched everywhere & did not find it
6) The app 'Bump' simply force closes at each and every instance when trying to run it - anyone else facing this issue?
