What's New
1.You now have the Installed and All tabs you can swipe between. The former one is what we used to have before - it lists all apps installed on your device. ' The latter lists all apps you've ever installed in case you want to download ' ' hem again or travel down the memory lane. This is quite handy, and I've ' ' ' seen this list before in the Play Store on the web, so it's great to get it here in the mobile app.
2.The All tab contains a handy dropdown with all your accounts (if you added ' ' more than one) and lets you switch between them very easily (as opposed to ' clicking Menu, etc).
3.The list of apps you have purchased but uninstalled or haven't installed yet has moved to the All tab... which means it's now mixed in with the free apps you ' no longer have on the device. I'm not sure how I feel about that - on one ' ' ' hand, I like that it's gone from the first list, but ideally there should be a way ' to filter paid apps from free in the All list. Maybe someday...
4.A few of the stock apps that apparently never got linked to the Play Store ' ' ' before got identified and picked up this time, and updates to such orphans ' ' were waiting for me when I fired the Store up. I've complained about this very bug in my last rant, and it looks like someone listened.
5.Just like in the web Play Store:
- reviews now show the device used by the reviewer
- reviews can now be sorted by Most Helpful first or Newest first
- you can now filter reviews to show ones for the latest version of the app as ' well as made by only the device you are using

What apps do you recommend? Would be nice if you guys could post a description of the app next to it
1. Open Playstore
2. Browser through best free and best paid apps
3. Think about what kind of app you want then search.
4. Don't post something like this again.

I personally would recommend,
Android pro widgets (widget set with calendar,... highly customizable),
beautiful widgets (widget set with many clock widgets and loads of themes),
tasker (root needed) (make jobs at time, place or any other condition like app starts [turn on wifi,...]),
titanium backup (root needed) (app and data backups),
gta3(^^),
chrome beta (chrome for phone with direct synchronization of bookmarks, open tabs,... to desktop chrome),
ultimate call screen (fullscreen hd callscreen replacement),
ttorrent (torrent client),
solid explorer (pretty nice tabbed file explorer),
swype beta (keyboard where you can draw the words over the keyboard instead of typing them)
and everything from chainfire what is usable for our device (root needed)^^
Gesendet von meinem GT-I9300 mit Tapatalk 2
1. onenote - note taking app.. notes, memos etc.. syncs online and onto your computer. apps are available on the iOS too
2. double twist player (for itunes syncing.. I guess you'd need that if you are coming from an iphone)
3. ES file explorer - just a file explorer but capable of lots of other things once you root your phone
4. Swiftkey - keyboard that predicts your next word when typing.. pretty good and can save you time
Fancy widgets is better IMO than beautiful widgets. Nicer clocks styles.
Simple Calendar widget. Activate 4x2, multi skin to get loads of lines for diary entries, then shrink back to 4x1 to save space.
Pocket
S Baro - free from Samsung on More services
Amazon Kindle
BBC Iplayer.
Shaman, shop savvy
Zite
Google Sky Map
Amazon, amazon mp3
eBay
PayPal
Syrious scramble - great word game
Light Flow, cant stress enough on that one. Fully utilizes SIII's LED for notification.
NOVA 3..
s3 runs it smooth..
(i don't own 1 though) just sayin lolz

It's all very well ripping this post, and he could have phrased it better, but the guy has a point. There are no such thing as "must have" apps. It depends what you like/want and is entirely subjective. So you'd do just as well looking at the list of top apps on the Play Store (where you effectively get the recommendations of millions) as you would reading the opinions of those who post on this thread.
$0.02
I prefer user on xda give me opinion than million on playstore.
Some apps that people posted earlier are on my list.
if anyone like you and minh. there are no custom rom
hey
here my installed apps:
ASTRO File Manager
AdFree Android
AlarmDroid
Camera360 Ultimate
Defender II
Paint for friends
SoundHound
Ultimate custom clock
avast! Mobile Security
This may be covered in another thread, but i just received this from google support regarding my continued ***** about not being able to delete unused, uninstalled, non working apps listed on the play store granted.. they still show up on the web but now its not on my GSIII any longer.. Thank god... it took google too long to address this issue: :good:
Thank you for contacting Google. At this time, there is no way to delete records of old apps from the Google Play website (play.google.com).
However, if you're running the latest version (3.9+) of the Google Play Store app on your device (to find out the version you're running, launch Google Play, then tap Settings > Build version), you have the ability to remove apps from your My Apps list. At this time, the latest version of the Google Play Store app is slowly being released to devices around the world.
To do so, open the Google Play Store app > My Apps > All, tap the gray circle on the app you want to remove, then tap OK to confirm. You can select multiple apps to remove from the list by long-pressing an app, then tapping more apps in the list.
Note that you will only see the gray circle for apps that are not installed on that device. Removing an app from your My Apps list will uninstall the app from any other devices associated with your account. To get an app back that you've removed from your My Apps list, you must re-download the item from Google Play. If you remove a purchased app, there's no need to re-purchase that app - simply visit the app's details page on Google Play and re-install it.
If you're still running a version of the Google Play Store app below 3.9, you will not be able to remove apps from your My Apps list.
Regards,
Danielle
The Google Play Support Team.
I wish every time you deleted an app the list didn't refresh all the way to the top.. Also after rom installs do they come back and show again?

No they do not. They are also removed from the PC version when you log on from there. It makes it so much easier to try and an app and then delete it for good out of your list.
Nice to be able to finally batch delete...now if only we could batch install...
Sent from my SGH-I747M using xda premium
Well..you can now...the downside? Batch remove isn't available anymore.
The list doesnt refresh anymore thank god. It was so irritating when each time you erase the app from the list you have to scroll again to the point where you stopped before removing the app from the list. And I just got to know that you can actually select multiple apps from that list and install them at once instead of going to each app and pressing intall. COOL!!!
Hello All...How have you been..!!
This might seem to be a duplicate post, but I thought of sharing the information to collate all the processes to save APKs from the market place as well as to get access to wide range of applications on the play store to which we ACE user don't have access..
Well found two processes...
1. For Custom Rom lovers, it is a regular heck to download all the application from market place after each format.. or get the apks from some third party site... So why not back up all the APKs from Play Store itself...
For that I found an awesome application on XDA called REAL APK LEECHER... which allows one to save the apks straight away to their PC and also scan for any updates..
The steps to do so can be found here..
But now there is a loop hole ... you can only download the apps compatible to your device model (corresponding to the Device ID)..
Now the trick though a stupid one...
Simpler way :: Ask your friend having a high end model to add your gmail ID to his/her device... and then access Play Store for at least once.. Take his/her Device id (using *#*#8255#*#*) You are done.. Remove the account... Register the device id/gmail Acc on APK leecher and access most of the apps..
But your friend might not allow to share his/her device ID, what to do now...
Harder way :: Google for some Random Device ID ... Use some app on the play store to change your device ID... Download at least one app from play store... You can again access all the apks using the above process..
2. Well found another application... This is the best.. though it is not free... is the Device Spoofer app...
Spoof you device to any given model... Download as many apps possible..
These helped me... I guess might help some one else too...
I download apps & each time they get updated, I send them to my another phone using bluetooth file transfer & then save them to pc. Much easier right ?

The process seems to be useful for users like me who have slow & limited data usage plans.. Moreover updates done over PC..
Rest the Device Spoofer is an awesome app.. Now i have access to almost all the apps on play store...

It's nice that you can be linked to apps that your device doesn't support remotely but the process seems to be quite complicated and not everyone has a friend willing to share their gmail stuff...

Thats true enough... But the APK Leecher rocks...
N i would suggest everyone to try out the device snoofer... Simply awesome and easy 2 use...

Hey @Pizza_user , Here I leave you ought to list all of these services (apk) can be blocked with geminiapp, or link2sd (most recommended applications):
storage on the calendar
my uploads
mtpapp
provider of search applications
R2R Client
Google Play services
synchronization
google contact sync
sync of google calendar
network location
and if you do not use (or using little) play when you can also lock the following:
Playstore (consumed between 10 and 20 mb of ram)
Keyboard (depending which you have installed the ram consuming, and just lock it if the game does not require write anything)
dialer storage (5 to 8 mb)
Marking keyboard (this is the one used to call consumes between 5 and 7 mb)
Download Manager (between 4 and 6 mb)
contact information (between 3 and 7 mb)
I hope I've been of help .. regards
PS: to block these services, there will be more free ram, but if winning performance, because they are services that are not running in the background keychain, keychain nor stored in cache ..

Airpush ad opt out
Hi Shingir,
My name is Nick and I am part of the publisher solutions team at Airpush.
To remove our ads, you can manually opt out at airpush.com/optout/, or you can always remove the app that the ads came from.
PM me if you need any more help.
Thanks,
Airpush Nick
