Don't know what happened to my phone today, but it has become slower than I know slow to be. None of my messages make noise when I receive them. None of my contacts show up, but they are still listed when I just push TALK. It won't download anything. It's still functional, but it just seems like it's literally dying.
EDIT: Oh yah, and my home screen won't reload. I have to go to something else and come back for the time to update and I also just noticed I don't even get a message alert on the screen when I get a new one. Geez!
I don't want to have to wipe and reload a ROM again because I had this phone just the way I wanted it. Anyone know any tricks?
Thanks in advance.

instead of reloading the rom, just go to start > accessories and hit clear storage? yea you will lose all your stuff...but sounds like you are gonna lose it anyways....go do a backup with sprite or spb if you can...then just clear it, reload the keyboard fix...and i think you would be set
might have to run the connection setup too...i dont remember.
but it just doesnt sound like its worth trying to troubleshoot it over the interwebz...like usual..i may be wrong...most likely am..
Like he said above, I was having the same problem and I just did a clear storage and it seems to work to perfection now.
Ahh yes the power of Sprite.......what a great safety blanket...
First thing I would do is try a new battery.
id try the free fix first to be honest...

I don't know what's going on

My phone has been acting really weird. Throughout the day, I will check my phone and see the time. I am using Fancy Widget Pro and for some reason, after a while, the time on the widget and system no longer match. It's about a 5 to 15 minute difference. It really depends. I was also using setCPU and when I would charge it and the take out the charger, SetCPU would not change back to the profile that I made. Another problem I have noticed is when I plug the USB-microUSB from the computer to the phone, when I finish and take the cord out, the computer knows it's gone, but my phone still thinks it is there. The only other problem I can think of, which is the biggest, is I don't think I am receiving text messages. I sent a couple to myself, and never got them. The only way that I know to fix this problem is to restart my phone, but I never get those texts back. Any help would be awesome. I have already tried Odin and going back to a different stock ROM. I have also done countless factory resets. I have no clue what is going on. If you need anymore info on what I am running or anything, just let me know. Once again, any help would be awesome.
P.S. I am on EH06, deodexed and pre-rooted. I also flashed maddoggin's lockscreen mod. I don't know if that helps, but I might as well put it there.
Thank you.

No I have not. Will that really change anything? I just flashed stock EH17 (unrooted) to my phone to see if that would stop this from happening. What would I freeze?

Well, i guess if you were freezing programs, maybe something got frozen that was related to updating. The USB issue i have had in the past, and that has always been fixed by a reflash for me. The time not updating, I have had that as well, and for me it was related to Juice Defender and my data settings. I am not sure how much flashing you do, but I have noticed that if I have flashed a few ROMS/Themes/Kernels, over the course of a few days (especially going back and forth from Froyo to GB) I will start getting all kinds of weird issues happening. Usually when that happens, I will back up my SD card, wipe it and reformat it, Odin back to stock EC05, and start the whole process over again with re-rooting. Sorry if this was not much help. Just trying to give my experience, albeit limited!

And I forgot the texts not sending or receiving has been issues with clearing L1/L2 memory from task manager...

No, I appreciate it. I have been flashing a lot lately. I have never re-formatted my SD card, but I am sure I could figure out how to do that. I was thinking it was the ROM I had, but then I flashed a different ROM and it still did it. I will go about reformatting my SD card and let you know how that goes. Thanks for the info man.

Hey, no problem. To reformat the SD card, what I have done, is just copy the whole card to me PC, then go into CWM and there is formatting options in the mount and storage section if i remember correctly. then, i will just copy back the apk's and pics, music, etc...
I have 2 questions.
1) When you reformat your SD card, did that solve your problems?
2) I went into task manager and didn't see L1 or L2 RAM. Where do I look?

1) fixes some problems, definitely increased stability, if you do a lot of deleting, adding, moving, etc..
2) in task manager click on the RAM manger tab. But seeing as Android managers memory on its own, clearing L1 and L2 RAM is useless and only causes problems (sending and receiving texts) in my opinion.

I am formatting as we speak.
Do you know what aspect of a fragmented sd card wld cause those issues. I've had the clock issue using fancy widgets and cldnt find the cause. Is that something than can be rectified without formatting my card. Where and what are diff roms putting on the external sd card besides the android secure folder. Sorry I'm pretty ignorant re: flash media fragmentation. Doesn't make sense to me brains.
adamdelozier, thank you very much man. Seemed to have fixed my problem...... Been running it all day after the format and everything is working great. Once again, thank you very much.

android.process.acore is not responding

Hello,
im enjoying my HTC One X for the last 3 months with no problems so far until 2 days ago i wanted to copy some movies on the phone. before this i had aroung 7GB free on the device and the movie was @4gb.
once the copy was done my phone started to be veeeery slow and at one point showed me the "android.process.acore is not responding" error.
i have scanned the phone and didnt find any bad sectors or so. once im deleting the movie and going below the 7gb the phone is starting to act normally.
i know that a factory reset might solve the problem but i dont think this is case here since above 7gb free i didnt have any issues.
did any of you had this type of problem so far or do you know what might cause this?
Have you flashed a custom ROM or are you using it out of the box?

Whenever I get the message you got in the opening post, it means I flashed a ROM incorrectly. For out of the box I have no idea why you would get that.
Did the system update go OK? No glitches?
If you disabled some system apps from application manager enable them again
If nothing else works, try to factory reset the phone. It will delete all app data (not sd card) but will reset any change you might have made.
(Alternative, if you are rooted, clear dalvik cache partition)
This is unacceptable. It happened to me too. I've just finished copying a 4GB file and I suppose I was left with aroung 1GB free and the phone simply freezes with response times of around 30s. i.e. I touch the screen, and after 30s the command is executed.
Somewhat the internal memory is being scanned or something like that and when free space is very low, it just freezes like this.
Really? From an HTC flagship phone which costs 600€? REALLY?? I mean, they advertise it has 32GB, it doesn't, it has 25GB and you can't even put 25GB of stuff inside because it gets outerworldly slow, so you have to leave at least som 4GB free, so in the end of the day this piece of crap has 21GB usable!
Well done HTC :good:

Can't save screenshots

I just bought an HTC Desire 816 smartphone running KitKat 4.4.2. Before today, I was able to capture screenshots the same way I do so on my Nexus 7 (2013) tablet, by holding down the Power button and the Volume control button. But today, I did that and received a 2-line notification that said:
Couldn't capture scree...
Couldn't save screenshot. Storage ma...
I tried to turn the phone horizontally so that perhaps more of the message would show up, but although I have "auto-rotate" checked and it works on other screens, it doesn't do so here. I have no idea what the problem is nor how to fix it. I'd be most grateful for some help.
"Sorage ma..." seems as if you don't have enough storage on your internal SD to store that picture?? All I can think of if you were able to do it before. Try freeing up some internal memory.

Thanks for your quick response. According to the figures in Storage, I've got 2.20 GB still available, so lack of internal memory doesn't seem to be the problem. And I'm frustrated at not even being able to read the whole notification message.

Try deleting some stuff anyways
Well, I am surprised and happy to report that the screenshot storage problem seems to have cured itself :fingers-crossed: . I decided to try to make another screenshot and see what happened. I simply made a shot of my home screen, and it worked the way it was supposed to. The screenshot was stored under Pictures/Screenshots, and the puzzling "Couldn't capture scree..." notification disappeared. I'm still curious about what the entire two lines said, but for now, I'm going to move on to other things I don't understand about my new phone.
The notification said that its not possible to save screenshot and that its possible that you dont have enough memory(i have btw) and my screenshot didnt "cure" itself, idk what to do...

Massive lag

So I searched and couldn't find anything useful, my phone has a horrible lag! It's crippled my phone to a point where I want to throw that piece of s... out the window! It takes ages to wake up, when I write something it completely freezes and about few sec it's normal again!it's all lag across all apps, tried factory but it doesn't seem to have any effect! Yeah sure I could only run one app but what's the point! My first phone went into bootloop, this is a 604 version! Would root and a custom rom help?

I guess it's time for warranty, hardware issue.

Do you have activated adoptable storage? That means do you use your external SD card as internal storage?
Maybe it is your SD-Card which is corrupt
Nope I didn't do that! But when I restart the phone it feels snappier.. Or maybe it's placebo! Tried the debloater today + I uninstalled quite a lot of apps, I did help a bit
