USB transfer rate - Defy General

anyone noticed when transferring big files from computer to defy using usb cable, transfer rate is 2.5 mb max either in windows or linux? Anyone got a fix for this? Thanks
Got a Headache? It's all in your Head.

i'm guessing that would have to be something to do with your memory card class.
the memory card has its max transfer limits or something like that

of course,it has the max transfer rate, you can not change it

even i experienced this on my class 4 sdhc
First it starts from 9mbps
Then drops too 2.8
Cm 7.2 nightly

Recognizing SDHC in WM 6.1

Hey, this is my first post, but i've been looking around here a lot recently and have learned quite a bit. I have a question regarding my SDHC card on my phone.
So well I flashed Rose's Rom 1.6 on to my dash and implemented Windows Mobile 6.1 in order to try and get my 4gb SDHC card working on it. After doing this and going through several drivers, the card still was not recognized. Help?

Is your card formatted to the FAT32...
the card wont be read by my phone or my laptop so i cant configure it
I suggest getting a SDHC reader for your laptop then. Always good to have anyway. I find it faster to copy files through a reader then through syncing anyway. I have a 4gb in my Dash
it is possible the card is no good , have a friend try and read / write to it ?
having several devices ( htc-621 , asus Eee pc , 2 camera's , generic mp3 player ) that use the sd/hc format , and a ( small ) handfull of cards from 1 to 8 gig ,
i agree that a usb sd/hc reader and adapters for micro sd is the way to go .
makes it uber-easy to load / share photo's , music , movies etc.
i dont seem to see a huge speed difference transfering files via sync or through the usb adapter . ( could just be my pc ? )

Na there isnt much of a speed difference transferring files through sync or through usb adapter...
What brand is the card? I have heard that sometimes certain brands are not compatible.

I have to disagree there is a massive ammount of difference on data transfer speed, try copying a full album via async can take 4-5 mins card reader 20-30 secs at the most... The other problem with async transfer is there is a top out on the size of data you can transfer in one file off the top of my head can't mem the exact ammount.

Try transferring a big file through ActiveSync (something like a map for navigation software) and you'll notice a HUGE speed difference, activesync being much slower

[Q] Slow usb transfer speeds fix yet?

I just went to transfer some files to the Fire when I remembered how it barely goes usb 1.0 speeds.
2mb a sec for a 300mb video file is obscenely wrong.
Last I recall the wifi speed was actually faster.
Is there a software fix or something yet or still stick with the wifi xfers?
It seems a lot peppier now. It wasn't so sluggish to detect the device when I connected it and I just got about 20 MB/sec on a >700MB file transferred via USB.
Edit: But transferring the OTHER way (from my computer TO the KF) I just got... about 2.3 MB/sec on a file less than half that size. Weird.
I think it's somewhat better on 6.2.2. USB mounting the sdcard partition dropped from 10 to 2 seconds for me, and USB transfer of a ~260MB file is now at about 10MB/s. I don't recall the original speed but I know it was quite a bit slower.
Tom's Hardware has a very nice but highly technical. explanation about why the transfer speeds are very slow.

With 6.2.2, it's still too slow to transfer files to the device.
I understand the why, but would love to know know the "when" it will be fixed.
My ipaq transferred faster on compact flash cards.
I didnt notice this on 6.3 firmware
But since I changed to CM7KFire it's been ridiculosly slow... do any of you out there with stock software 6.3 got fast transfer speeds?
You can get 5-6MB/s if you use adb push.

Read/ Write Speed

Yesterday I copied my itunes songs onto a folder on my desktop so I could transfer those songs onto my phone. For some reason itunes doesn't like directly copying to another device. Anyways, it copied 298 songs (my small library) to the desktop in less than 10 minutes. I then transfered the desktop folder, or rather tried to. Seeing that it was unbearably slow, I decided to let it sit overnight to finish copying. Today, I unplugged my phone thinking it was done and only saw 238 songs. Sitting more than 5 hours, it failed to finish copying my music. This was on my extension sd card, because copying to my phone was even slower. I'm not really sure what to do because I don't know if this is a driver issue on my computer or if this is my phone's fault. Is there a way to speed up my read write speed on both my computer and my phone?
I have a windows 7 computer and am using the correct cord.
I also didn't eject it properly a couple times because when I tried to eject it it said a program was still using it when bo programs jn my task manager were open.

As I have noticed when you copy using normal means the transfer always seems a tad slow. When I do it through my recover it seems a lot faster, my guess its the way phone Mounts the card. When done normally it mounts in a weird way, but when done through the recovery its mounted as a usb storage device and I think that allows the better speeds. Hope that helps.

I use winamps wireless transfer. Suprisingly its much faster than usb transfer. But yes I will have to try that thanks

[Q] USB 3.0 disconnects on desktop pc.

Just got my Note 3 this afternoon and got a 64g sd card for it. When I connected it to my pc in the 3.0 slot it didn't show up in my computer. Checked it under Media device (MTP) and it shows up. Checked it under USB 3.0 and it disconnects and disappears. Anyone else ran into this problem?

My PC did same. It is the PC not the phone. Does it with my other 3.0 drives.

Slow transfer speeds after Kitkat Update

Did anyone else notice this? After the KK update, the file transfer speed between my PC and OGP has dropped considerably when I sync using USB Media Sync (MTP). Earlier OGP used to load up as another drive, after the update it is loading up as a Portable device. Any suggestions on how to improve the speed?
Looks like the io scheduler needs to be set on bfq for better transfer speed. But only possible with a custom kernel. Atm there s none
