I am looking for some advice on a rom. I wanted a few opinions on what my best bet was for a bare bones, blazing fast rom. Feel free to include kernel choice, benchmarks and or setup. the search function really didn't give a clear answer and I just figured a few user opinions would help. Thanks.

I think that this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1246682 might be one of the ROMs with the least amount of bloat ware, it's pretty dam fast, and it's got great battery life and very good instructions on how to set it up
Bare bones fast? Virtuous G-lite. Why? Because im a huge fan of virtuous! Simple clean and fast.

yes try virtuous g-lite if sense interface is not necessary for you, if is necessary try virtuous sense and is better than stock

Virtuous G-lite and Elite Mod are ESSENTIALLY the same thing but Elite Mod has a few more tweaks to it and has a different kernel and such. I'd say try both and see which one suits you. I have tried them both and for a fast non-sense ROM they were both pretty much equal.
CM7 has been fairly quick for me...
And it doesn't throw away everything you might need.

Elitemod is cm7(aosp) and glite is htc's version of aosp. Personally, i think glite is better

True but I meant in the way that they are both very clean free of bloat ware fast stable and battery efficient. It really comes down to which looks/feels nicer to you

Agreed. Even though there aren't many other Sense based ROMs, Virtuous has a great team of developers that have been working hard on it. I get great speed and awesome battery life using the "standard" kernel.
Just try them all and see what works best for you.
id have to agree to. probably the easiest to flash to cuz you can download using rom manager. pretty good rom but id personally stick with stock gingerbread
This is super subjective but im curious to see what the majority is....
right now im on virtuous 1.0.2 with the oc to 15xx.... but the last while my phone has been laggy as all can be, lots of programs such as sms and email etc is always freezing and crashing....
so since im switching up to sgs2 in a few days, wondering what ppl think is the best overall rom for our phones....
plan on giving this to my wife, so i want something with the least amount of bs, and great speed, fluid feeling, with good battery
Thanks all
Man there are couple of these already...

Ya well when.the search via the phone didnt bring it up, figured no harm in asking, also you could contribute vs saying something with zero relevance to what I asked.... thnx tho

If by "couple" you mean "100,000" then yes.
OP, if you want a basic, stable ROM (aka not sense) you can check out an AOSP ROM like stock Gingerbread (I've used the one from Xboarder) or CM7.

I like the flinny cm10 nightly. he is still in development but its got a tone of promise!
I Would Prefer an AOSP ROM,but last time i did that the PRL was outdated and my coverage was such garbage i had to use wifi.if i flash the latest radio and whatnot,THEN an aosp rom, which one?...im not big on sense,i have alot of apps,so apps2sd enabled is preferred, possibly a custom kernel but idk if the evo can even be safely over/underclocked.and also,i had an amazing experience with godmode in synergy,is there any other rom that comes close to that kinda performance...im being picky hell id cook my oen,but no PC.
Shooter Evo 4G
Cm7 latest version with Tiamat 3.3.7 kernal. Can get 24 hours depending on usage.
World peace with no regard for human life.
Whats a good sense rom thats stable?i mean everything ive seen has somethin messed up like 4g,sms errors...multiple bugs.i need something stable, where u dont need to keep flashing back n forth.froyo gingerbread i dont care my main concerns are a smooth performance with optimal battery life,i possibly wanna put in an SBC kernel....

How about for myself.
I have my EVO flashed over to MetroPCS and currently have Metrodroid2.2 running on the phone. Would I be best to continue running with that ROM, or switching over to CM7.1 along with a patch from the Metrodroid thread for MMS?
What is best for me?
SNS Gingerbread v1.4.1
I like the SNS Gingerbread v1.4.1 because it has a smooth, simple look. Also, I noticed a little boost in battery life.

Oh, sorry.
For stability, try MikG. No issues for me. I quite personally use r3chargeD, it is so awesome and I have AMAZING battery life. I think the update to come for it will make it impossibly awesome
ChopSuey kernel is my personal preference
Sent from my PC36100 using xda premium
Give the latest SalvageMod AOSP ROM a try you can use Tiamat's SBC kernel if that's what you prefer. Coming from CM7, I like this one more.
Ive tried r3charged,i had multiple sms errors, now im on stock rooted deodexed,i havent had any issues.by stable i mean a RC that has no bugs.i know that may be asking alot, but i cant afford to not have all my features intact.also,i had issuea with multiple different AOSP roms, poor signal and weaker wifi, even with the latest radio combo pack....so im gunna steer clear of CM7.

2.5 is smooth as butter, I highly recommend it. That plus ChopSuey make for great battery life. I underclock to around 758 MHz and no lag for me

Just got to experiment, man. Try different ROMs and kernels and such, that's the beauty of Android (and especially the Evo Development, we have great devs!)

Hi,
Which is the most stable rom for htc desire HD ? miui or with htc sense 3.0 ?
I highly recommend coredroid v 7.1, it has many sense 3.0 parts built in, it is very fast, very stable, great battery life, awesome theme, give it a try, maybe you will like it as much as I do! Virtuous Unity is also pretty popular and gets great reviews! check that one out if you like, although it is a bit newer, and may not be as stable. Always make sure you make a nand backup!
Thanks button Always Appreciated!!!

This is a question and therefore goes in the Q&A section. Please think twice before posting a question in the Android Development section.
To answer your original question, RemPuzzle is best when overclocked to about 672. It's smooth and fluid. And majority of people know what Sense looks like, but not AOSP. It will have a learning curve attached if you go for AOSP ROMs. CM9 is also unstable and not suitable for daily use if you're not a dev. I use it for my daily driver but the camera, video playback etc. doesn't work.
You could take a look at my reviews thread.
I recommend you CM7 cause it has many cool features and animations and is the most popular one on the web. And I also is very stable. I won't recommend you CM9 cause its under development, Many things aren't supported yet.

Rempuzzle is the best. Overclocked to 691Mhz keeps it very quick, wait for the 2.70 update to get a sense 4.0 look
She is very glad with using RemPuzzle. I check RemPuzzles topic every day for news ^^ But this rom has lags sometimes. Is a method for this? I want to make her happy with using Wildfire. I know wildfire isnt a good phone but maby there are tips or apps to make phone smoother and faster? Thanks

Except overclocking or tweaking some thing on the rom, don't really know any more things to do to make it faster or snappier.. maybe someone else knows tho.
I found kwbr Wildfire 4.0 as fastest and stable. In other sense ROMs had lags. This one fits me best. Added new kernel, overclock and it's best by now
