I just wanted to know if there was a website that would help noobs like me get started on developing, or to download the right tools so that I can atleast try to learn something. Thanks in advance : )
A great place to start is the uot kitchen. Try some theming there, status bar mods are really fun and easy. Same with changing the battery display.

Check out this thread. It's a great guide for beginners.

Also check out the rest of the Chef Central/Android subforum. Great information there for those looking to cook up modded stock roms and AOSP roms from source, both.

I see all these different Rosie set ups and I am confused as to if they are all interchangeable or not. I am currently on Koni's S3 but I do not see much on different Rosies, most post are for Myns or Miks.
Thank you
I asked TommyTomatoe about this recently. He said all of the should world (not the z based roms rosies). I haven't tested them out yet though. He said that the ones for Kings rom will definitely work

Keep in mind that those mods are specific to the rom they were made for. Still, you can use them however, because the framework is involved, you may end up changing more than just the rosie. For example, I flashed a gingerbread rosie made for Myn's RLS5 while I was using a rooted deodexed stock rom and although I did get the gingerbread rosie, my theme had changed among other things to that of RLS5.

S3 is a pretty solid rom, im really surprised there isn't much theme support for it.
Well, I guess my next question is; where do I find the bar to do it myself?

Download the theme or ROM that has the bar that you like. You will find it in system/framework/com.htc.resources.apk/res/drawable-port-hdpi. good luck and may the force be with you.
BTW if your ROM has landscape you will need /drawable-land-hdpi as well.

Haha, thank you. I have minor experience with moodding apk's so hopefully this will end successfully.

Editing and altering roms takes a lot of reading and learning. No one is gonna take you by the hand and guide you especially devs on altering their roms. But if you want to change the looks try uot kitchen its pretty simple there.
Google is my friend whose yours.

Go over to the android development section. It depends what rom you are running, chances are it has already been modded. If its just theming, miui has a bunch of options that can be downloaded. You can also go to the play store and download themes for free or search right here on xda. Some themes on the store could be laggy.
Tough, it depends what you mean by changing.

So, the title says it all. I want to learn theming, and hopefully release a theme for cm9 theme chooser. Where should I start? Which apktool version is best for this?
Sorry if this have been asked before. Did a quick search, but didn't find anything really helpfull..
Any help is appreciated!
There is a guide in the general theme section.

I don't know whether to post this in Q/A or in the theme development section, but is/would it be possible to create and sense 4.0 rosie with 5 buttons? I know the regular rosie is only capable with 3 but it seems like a cool idea.
I would try to attempt this myself but my computer is outdated and can't support apktool or any of those helpful tools.
So is it possible? And if so, I send a request out
Try this out. It may be what your looking for. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1709182
