So, the title says it all. I want to learn theming, and hopefully release a theme for cm9 theme chooser. Where should I start? Which apktool version is best for this?
Sorry if this have been asked before. Did a quick search, but didn't find anything really helpfull..
Any help is appreciated!

There is a guide in the general theme section.

[Q] Website for New Developers?

I just wanted to know if there was a website that would help noobs like me get started on developing, or to download the right tools so that I can atleast try to learn something. Thanks in advance : )
A great place to start is the uot kitchen. Try some theming there, status bar mods are really fun and easy. Same with changing the battery display.

Check out this thread. It's a great guide for beginners.

Also check out the rest of the Chef Central/Android subforum. Great information there for those looking to cook up modded stock roms and AOSP roms from source, both.

[Q] DefaultTheme.apk

Hey guys!
Could anybody upload a DefaultTheme.apk with the standard themes and Flow (ICS) added?
And please don't post any link to a theme I'm already using one and it's awesome.
The only problem is that it hasn't a ICS Theme in the designs included.
That is hard to do.

And is it without the standard thems (I don't really need them) hard too?
Or could someone give me little HOW TO?
I suppose I need APK Manager.
Is hard any way.

Okay.
But in many themes there's already a ICS theme (like Flow) in the DefaultTheme.apk?
Could someone just upload one?
Would be very nice.

Hi. I really appreciate your work but seilent takes themes to a different level. I am sure many people in the forum missed him including some of the devs hahas. He said he just got his new comp and might be doing themes for us again.
Thanks btw.
PS: Some of his best art

Liquid launcher question

Hello there,
I just installed Liquidsmooth for the i747 s3. I have a question about the launcher. Is liquid launcher compatible with another launcher so far as themes go? I found is a theme manager but only the stock theme is shown. Can I used themes for another launcher and they will work in liquid launcher? I had so many trouble with another ROM but liquidsmooth runs very nice. I do not want to break this ROM putting incompatible themes in it.
sorry for poor English
thank you

T-mobile Theme Chooser app alternatives

PA 3.93 and Franco kernel.
Molesarecoming decided not to include the tmo theme app in his recent builds but I'd like to install a theme that I really enjoyed, Cobalt Inferno.
I correctly and successfully installed theme chooser but it complains, "Unfortunately theme provider has stopped working"
Xtheme was a PIMA and caused me to have to restore an image from backup because PA wouldn't fully boot past "Android is Upgrading"
So, any suggestions for an alternative or maybe someone has an idea how I can make one of these theme ENGINES play nice with PA?
Thanks!

Here's a UID fix for xtheme to get it working on devices running 4.3 that have Paranoid Android. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=44013064&postcount=2308&nocache=1&z=8592028592247516
This may work across the board for other ROMs that have been update since the 4.3 OTA but I can only confirm that it works with PA.
Install the framework and hit the radio button with the yellow warning text.
Next, Install the engine.
Then flash the UID fix.
Now, install an xtheme and go back to the engine to select it, apply it and do a hard reboot.
One word of caution. Make sure you don't have 2 versions of the same theme. Meaning, a version ported for xtheme and the non ported.

Hi,
Thanks for posting the tutorial, bro. thanks a lot!
Sorry for the trouble, but can you answer me (I've been trying for the half hour to find it), where is the xtheme app?
The main thread seems to be here, but there is no xtheme app link given in the end of the post. Just a link to Google+ community, and sample themes.
Also, you have written that I need to install the Xposed framework first. But when I press the yellow button for the installation in the framework app it gives me this error (kindly see the attached screenshot).
Kindly point me out in this direction a bit, it would be really helpful!
If you can, it would be helpful for me and others too, if you can attach the Xtheme app to OP?
Thank you!

Not as many themes on xtheme and not as good.
Refer to the chamelon os rom thread and you can see they have implemented reverse engineering miui theme chooser which is way better then t mobile theme chooser..
I think you can try that..
Dont know how they implemented..
But i think the support team might help you as they have implemented in their 4.3 rom
