----------------------[Edit]I got a cm7 update to work. ill figure it out. as long as i have a working phone for now.
Maybe the zhboot. i dont know. dont know why i cant restore my virtuous backup though or other cm roms.----------------
I cannot install any roms after i updated clockword mod.
Is the a way to downgrade without adb or the rom manager?
I had already backed up my nand before i updated. now i cant even restore.
I tried many roms.
Just wanted to put a new rom on after having virtuous for ever. now what should have taken a couple min. has taken hours and i cant use my phone.
Hell i couldnt even recover my password because i couldnt enter the correct image verification, so i had to make a new account.
Any quick help would be appreciated.

Okay guys my Tilt 90 degrees detection is super slow
my 4g won't work (tries to scan forever) (I'm using CM but on 4gworking roms it doesn't work)
My GPS takes forever to lock on (known issue with new CM nightly)
My phone will not USB charge / transfer (I can use dropbox for file transfers I guess -_-) [never learned adb]
I want to reset to brand new and get my GPS and 4G working and forget CM and get a nice ROM maybe VaelROM or Fresh or Something.
Anybody help me out please? I have EVO with CM6 and Clockwork recovery
Do you have ROM manager?
wouldnt loading a shipped rom reset everything?
and isnt there a wipe for tilt?
When I could not connect to my computer I used one off the PCIMG files from the rooting process to reset everything back to stock.
Takes alittle bit off time
Yes I have the purchased ROM manager.
I don't get it - why not just flash a new rom that doesn't have those issues? Why go back to stock?
Because it doesn't fix it, or atleast 4G doesn't get fixed.
I'll try flashing a new ROM tommarow. In the mean-time i'll flash stock rom just incase it does fix it might as well. Then I'll flash Fresh Vael or something good.

Well, if its any help, people have been getting good 4g results with bs.
Sent from my blah blah blah blah
Tips
Have you flashed the latest Wimax radios?
Have you used your purchase Rom Manager to flash Amon Recovery... because that will give you all kinds of options to reset your phone and wipe everything (including the tilt sensor or whatever its called).
If all else fails and if you have insurance, go wake-boarding and take video with your EVO while jumping the wake and maybe by accident your phone will fall into the water.
Just some thoughts.
i would like to do this too. My adb is acting up, i can't remount saying its not found and /or do not have permission. I want to go back to my stock froyo unrooted and go though the long rooting process by downgrading and using unrevoked 3 with unrevoked forever method.I found methods of doing so, but they are for hboot 0/76 and i have hboot 0.93.0000, so that's no help. Any help with this will be great. I have such a headache trying to find a solid way to do this.
I was trying to install a splash screen and it would not process, so i installed the http ://forum.x da-developers.com/s howthread.php?t =752832 from here in order to gain the fastboot commands, it went thru but it complete became stuck in bootloader, making me think it replaced instead of installing on top. I read in a post that they installed .76 something. So i reflashed a pc36image i had, but it was the 2.1, didnt realize, so i followed all the step including the unrevoked steps, and installed the clockwork mod instead of the amons_ra, all i wanted to do was return to original so i can do a nandroid back up, it wouldnt let me before , because it failed, and now i realized i installed the wrong one so what shall i do, can i simply just flash amron and it will work or shall i just stay with this and suck it up. Also since im here should i just install cm6 or do i have to do more. please help asap, please i have to leave work in about 1 hour and have school next i really need my phone, thanks alot.
Alright, calm down. There's no need to panic I can barely understand what you were trying to convey. If I understood you correctly, yes you can flash amon ra and restore your nand backup. The hboot version shouldn't matter right now, you can fix that when you are less pressed for time.
i actually ended up flashing to the cm6 after 6 tries, but now my market place doesnt work, it that normal, I also added the google apps so it should work. Thanks again for you help.
nevermind, finnally started working after 5th try, I guess ill have to reflash later to anov_ because i need 4g, unless there is any custom rom that has 4g and no sense. do you know of any? thanks again sorry for panic attack.
I flashed my Alltel Desire with Gingervillian 1.0. When it finished it said it was successful, so I rebooted and now it's stuck on the Alltel splash screen. I tried wiping data/cache/dalvic and rebooting. Even taking out the battery and sd card. Nothing is working and I'm really pissed :/ It sucks going from an amazing Desire to an lg scoop, which is what I'm having to use now.
Any help?
Yes, I have searched the forum, but other people are using diff roms and having a few other problems. I just want to make sure I take the right advice!
Make sure the md5 of the download matches, then do another full wipe and reflash.
Ok thanks, but how do I do that? Lol
Ok I found the md5 of the download, but what do I match it too?
Ok, I found a md5 checksum checker and found out that the download did not match. I downloaded another one and now they match. Can I delete the old download off the sd card? Or what do I do?
yes, delete the old one. put the new one on your sd and flash again.
dont forget to do factory data wipe and clear dalvik cache.
you should be good (fingers crossed)
I done all of that and it's still stuck on splash screen I'm scared my phone is messed up for good.
Could I try flashing another ROM and if so how would I do that?
Isn't Alltel CDMA?
If you have a CDMA Desire you need CDMA Roms. I hope you did a backup before flashing this ROM. Try doing a nandroid restore to the ROM that came with your phone. If you want a ROM go look into cyanogen
Unfortunately there are not to many CDMA Roms. I would be happy to hook you up with a gingerbread ROM if you want!
No I didn't do a backup. So now I'm screwed? FML
Well thats not good.
You can get your phone functioning by flashing a CDMA ROM. But without a backup you can never get the phone back to the way it was given to you. So you cant ever take it back to alltel.
Here flash the first link on this page
http://mirror.teamdouche.net/?device=bravoc
"cm_bravoc_full-33.zip" that should get the phone working but you cant take it back to alltel
Make sure you clear data/cache all the jazz you did up there
But it will still be able to do everything right? Like download apps, text and all that? I just completely voided my warranty with no reverse? Is that what you are saying?
And also, how do I flash this "cm_bravoc_full-33.zip"? Do i delete the ginger villian ROM?
Ok thank you soooo much!! My phone is working now, but I'm still unsure about activating it again and using it. Will I be able too? And I'm looking and I don't see a market so I'm assuming I can't download apps? :/ that sucks but at least its working some sort of a way! I appreciate your help!
For CM you need to flash the google apps pack, it should be easy enough to find
Thanks, I'll be searching lol. Do you know if I it will be ok to activate this phone?
What do you mean by activate?
I activated my other phone because my HTC desire wasnt working. Do you think I can activate my desire back up? Also..the launcher Icon just dissapeared?? I swear I didn't delete it lol. Any way to get that back?
Ok, I found the google apps. Do I wipe all data/cache/dalvic first before i flash them?
No, you do not clear anything when flashing google apps. sorry for not replying (didn't see page 2)
Your phone will fully function as normal, for me MMS doesn't work but i have a small regional carrier with no support. You should be fine
As for activation, you are no longer on Alltel's software. Since you didn't do a backup I don't know what to tell you. If they can activate it without seeing it that would be best. My best advice is do more research next time.
You kind of got lucky on one front though. Out of all the carriers that the desire is on, Alltel is the one with a leaked RUU (completely restore your phone with those). If you want to go back to how you got the phone you can look into that. (if you want to do that don't talk to me i don't know much about that, make a new thread)
Well thanks! I got the apps installed and the phone on and working, but I can't activate it. So that sucks. So your saying I could go back to being on Alltel's network if I use the RUU? Becasue I will definitely do that ha. I just want to be able to use my Desire. I miss it ha!
If i were in your position, i would RUU. That doesn't mean you can't activate your phone now.
(To do that on my carrier its *228 don't know about you, give that a shot)
If the above doesn't work call Alltel and tell them to activate it. But once again if i were you i would:
1. Do the RUU back to alltel's software
2. Root and download ROM Manger
3. Do a nandroid backup of alltel's ROM
4. Then get to the fun stuff like custom roms
Thats just me. Let me ask you a question, can you activate phones without going into the store with alltel as your carrier?
I have read several threads on this but I feel I need to explain some things first.I recently purchased a HTC EVO bout to weeks ago.I decided to root and install some custom roms and kernels. The rooting process was a success using unrevoked 3.3.1.I also flashed MIUI 1.3.4 first then wiped cache and dalvik then tried to flash MIUI 1.3.5 update all in the same recovery session but it failed to install the update portion. So as of now Im still running MIUI 1.3.4.That was the first EVER custom rom install after rooting.Anyways as u kno one step I did fail to mention is doin a nandroid backup on the factory rom which honestly I really dont remember doin.So my questions is will I ever be able to go back to factory software 3.70.651.1 since I did not backup? Im serious thinking of unrooting and goin back to factory(original) cuz I prefer HTC sense better! I hav read some threads on using unrevoked forever and downloading the right RUU.Please any one, with the info I hav given help me with the right steps to do this process.Or am I SOL? Please include links and anything else that would help.
Download the s on zip from unrevoked3 site then run the ruu. But before u do that try warm rom or mikfroyo rom. Both r sense roms that kick ass. Much better than original rom but still have sense.

What is download the s on zip? Do u hav any idea where I can find the right RUU for my phone? Ive heard of people flashing the wrong one.But thanks I think Ill try one of those roms or maybe even both before I unroot.Ive actually heard good things from both. I just want a stable rom cuz right now on MIUI 1.3.4 am havin problems with usb connecting (like no mount, charge only,or even usb debugging options showing up anywhere). My comp shows its connected but WONT let me open sd card. Nothin showin up on my notification bar so I hav to take my sd card out and use an adapter directly into a usb port on my comp. Also no 4g and no ffc, which really sucks.Other then that awesome rom.
hey guys!
i will realy appriciate any help on this one:
i am in a light panic attack as i might bricked my first phone..
today i have updated my t989 to ics 4.0.4 via kies, and then rooted it.
of course the root was so i can flash a rom. i chose to try cm9.
any ways, in order not to get the phone stuck in boot loop, i have tried to install the touch version of the cwm recovery.
i did it through the zip on sd option.
the version i used was: CWM6013-TOUCH-CM9-recovery (file size 4.201)
it seemed ok at first.
but then when i retsrted the phone, i noticed that every app i am trying to launch takes forever to respond (about a minute)...
i have tried to do factory reset and it did not help - the phone was sluggish even on the first setup screens..
now i am in the process of downloading the stock version again, to unroot. is this the way to go? did i miss something?
please let me know what info i can provide so you will be able to help me.
again, and i can't say it enough: every help will be very much appreciated. so, did i brick my phone?
thanks!

What all did you do to install the ROM?
Something like this happened to me on my original Galaxy S when I updated it via Kies to the new stock version. Everything was running extremely sluggish. I don't remember what I ended up doing to fix it but I most certainly did not keep the stock update on there. I rebooted it and let it sit for about 30mins and then rebooted it again and tried using it. It was a bit better but still not good so I just flashed another Rom and then it was lightning quick.
The good news is you didn't brick it if you can still boot up and run stuff. I'd suggest updating your recovery to TWRP as that seems to be the preferred one now a days, it's the one I've been using to flash countless Roms without any problems, and most Devs recommend it. Apart from that, follow the install instructions precisely and you shouldn't have a problem. To be sure, after upgrading your recovery to TWRP, you could do the wipes (cache/dalvik/factory reset/system) 2-3 times before installing your new Rom, that seems to help some people coming from previous troublesome Roms.
I've noticed a few problems people seem to have around here come from the recovery, mainly those not using TWRP and/or using some form of outdated or beta CWM. Hopefully you can fix your problem, I know first hand how awful that sluggish feeling is. Good luck!
