I don't have any decent recording equipment only my HD2, though I assure you that it is working flawlessly, I've just been playing it for 10 mins with no stuttering what so ever. Only fault is some of the text is rather small but that's just obviously a resolution compatibly issue rather than a performance one. Are there any other graphics intense games/programs you'd like me to test?

ok thanks

There is a short video on youtube. Video Quality isn't that good, but it's still enough to see that it seems to run pretty smooth.

edit: video removed, the one above is much better than mine lol.

720p video recording

Here is a short 1 minute video taken outside my house so you guys can see how well the recording is. keep in mind the files is compressed massively just 52 MB for 1 minute
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GRpWn50FVwM&feature=player_embedded
Looks good to me!
heres one from inside with less light so you can see the quality difference
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k0J9axC99Wc
Inside is a lot more blurry but that's expected, people were saying that it was complete crap, but i'm impressed.
Have to admit, I'm not too impressed by this camera, definitely not the quality they were making it out to be...but honestly when is it ever as good as they say it is?
I am underwhelmed as well with the Hype vs Reality. I understand the ratio is always eschew but in this case it came with a bit of surprise.
The only saving grace here would be if the bitrate can be changed by us once rooted.

Changing the bitrate would be nice. I'm personally hoping a third party app comes along that does a better job at capturing video.
At this stage, i honestly would never use 720p video capture from the EVO. It just seems kind of pointless.
Hey OP, any way you can take video at different resolutions so we can compare the difference?

Thanks! Definitely 720p looks better however the bitrate just seems low. Hope this is not hitting a hardware limit.

im sure once the developers make 3rd party apps its going to be 1000000x better but thats just my thoughts.
Doubt it. HTC and cameras have never been a good mix. Shame really, once again HTC makes a great device with a ****ty cam.
Video looks horrible. I really wish HTC would team up with either Nokia or SE and learn how to make better cameras. I would gladly pay an extra $50 for a real camera with lens cover.
Doesn't really matter to me. If I need to take high-quality pictures or videos, my phone isn't what I would plan to use. For impromptu photos and quick videos, I am sure this will be fine for me.

Hey love the magnum! i know off subject. but, i'm a fan of the maggie and lx platforn period. how's gas mileage? sxt correct?
I don't trust any of the videos I've seen yet. I will make the final determination when the phone is plugged into my tv. Also I wouldn't be surprised if you can encode video in different formats and get better/worse quality.
hey shakuyi, can you get us some stills? the frame-rate on the video is borderline worthless. 480p does seem more real-time to me. i'm interested to see what inside/outside stills look like.
thanks man! good work!

Lazyworm YouTube 2.0 does HQ over 3G!

This is huge for non-HTC WP7 devices. The latest Lazyworm YouTube app does proper HQ video over 3G. Very nice!
Already available on RealTube and SuperTube...no big deal...and you can always sideload the debranded HTC Youtube app on your phone...
But yes, for the general masses, this is great news...
UPDATE: I take back what I said. This new version is REALLY GOOD! The quality is still only at 480p level, even with HQ, but the features, and the UI alone make this a must have download...
Still, should have SuperTube for 720p and downloads...
The framerate of full-screen videos is very poor with this new version. The Microsoft YouTube app and the HTC YouTube app don't have this problem.

Indeed, the quality of SuperTube or RealTube is really better unfortunately (especially over 3G).
And with SuperTube you can also download.
I hope the video quality can be improved, because the UI of LazyTube is very nice.
Would anyone care to elaborate the benefit of a 720p over a 480p video on a 800x480 screen?

Haha, relieved that you took the time to check it out. 2.0 has been months in the making and has taken much thought, research and design to get to where it's at.

We actually know how to implement video download however we are a little reluctant to release this feature in fear of future ramifications (to our understanding it breaches YT terms of service).
Having said that, Microsoft don't seem to mind and if it's going to be held against us by the public we may be forced to support it.
With regards to video stream quality, expect to see the full range added into the next LazyTube update so please stay tuned !
Thanks guys.
Thank you very much LazyWormsApps for this message.
I bought LazyTube today and must say I really like it.
Compared to RealTube or SuperTube the search engine is far more efficient and the results are more relevant.
Great work. I am looking forward for the next updates

Gen 2 Windows phone

I had a chance to play with a gen 2 windows phone and all of the third party apps were silky smooth. I think it is really worth going for a gen 2 device now.
Meh, not that much of a jump to be worth it. How could it be that much smoother? the processor is only like .2 ghz faster aren't they?
XviD codecs, HDMI out, HD display, native skydrive (I mean seemless, streaming music etc), now that would be worth it.
the graphics is also better and it has a 40-50 % processing boost, so it performs very well. I would recommend very much if you want smooth third party apps.
Gotta agree, I've been playing with a HTC Radar and it's silky smooth. Maybe Microsoft optimized the os in mango.
Sent from my PG86100 using xda premium
i dont know dude, but all the second gen perfrom amazing against the first gen.
Yepp they are faster in every aspect.
I had an Omnia 7 and now Lumia 800, the difference to me is big in eveyday usage.
And the Xbox Hub doesnt lag anymore when the Avatar starts his moves
HTC's move to integrated memory instead of flash mem helps a lot too.
Honestly, while still smooth, my titan seems a bit jumpier than my lumia. Perhaps it's just more discernible on the larger screen, but there's a barely visible jitter to it. My radar doesn't have the issue, nor does my focus S. Has anyone else experienced this or should I replace?

Maybe you have that Htc audio enhancer thing enabled? I heard it somehow decreases gpu performance.

Yup proven solution is shut down the sound enhancer in settings while streaming video, playing games. It's not OS bug, it's HTC screwing up things.
yup, cut it off and reset the phone and I'm golden. Thanks guys.
I can confirm what you are experiencing.
I was testing a video recognition and dynamic thresholding algorithm which ran almost 2 times faster on a Lumia 800 compared to the Omnia 7. It was definetly noticeable, ill try to see if I can get the difference in miliseconds if I get the Lumia back.
Also I've noticed apps starting much much quicker! Definetly nice for daily use, great improvements in speed and performance. Although video playback is noticeably worse, but hopeflly this will be solved in the coming update.

Video quality

Your friends are never going to believe what you did. The only way to prove it to them is with that video you took. Rate this thread to express how videos shot on the OnePlus 3 come out. A higher rating indicates that videos are smooth (and not choppy) and that auto-focus works very well, and that the camera adjusts quickly to different lighting conditions while recording.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
Video quality is okay, nothing great. The stabilization could be better. I also don't like that there is no 1080p/60 option.

You got any sample? And i think none of the latest flagships support 1080p60fps, dont know why
Techradar said you can record 1080p 60fps with other camera app, like open camera.
Anyone can test it?
Thanks

I gave open camera a shot and set it to 60fps, it doesn't actually do it, sadly enough. I've tried it both at the default bitrate (~20) and forced it to 5 mbit, both on the old api and the new camera2 api, nothing.
I'm not entirely certain what OP's reasoning behind no 60fps recording is anyway, I hope they'll add it in an update since AFAIK there's no hardware limitations which wouldn't allow it.

Htc 10, lg g5, htc 10, nexus 6p, xiaomi mi 5, none of these offer 60fps. Actually i think of all recent flagships only s7 is capable, i dont know reasons behind this decision of oems
I have an old hardware Zuk Z1 (snapdragon 801, same hardware as oneplus one) and it CAN record great quality 1080p 60fps.
With my Zuk I have low cost phone with great battery, very good responsive, customizable software, and a video resolution I CAN'T GET WITH NEW 2016 FLAGSHIPS.
incomprehensible.
Specially because that is the only reason I don't renew my phone.
But I would be happy to buy oneplus 3 of they add full HD 60fps non slowmotion video recording.
Hope they add it.

Yeah the software needs improvement and the noise cancellation is way too aggressive, I was only able to bump up the audio for the background noise and not disable the noise cancelation. Of course I did that after taking the video
But 1080p60 is possible

There is temp fix for that issue
what iv understood that someone said, that these mobile phone processors cant go constant 60fps video like gopro can. I had it on oneplus1 with Sultan-ROM and fps seemed to fluctuate somehwere between 59fps and 60fps (bsplayer with the i in the upper right corner, it had FPS counter) and i think i saw some small stuttering sometimes.. it looked almost like it were running too fast, hard to compare(and i dont have gopro) but it would be really cool to have it do like gopro but its probably gonna need own chip to make video.. (im not an expert on this matter, just what iv noticed) in the end i just recorded 4k so my daughter can enjoy 4k videos when he's all grown up. 4k downscaled into 1080p is _REALLY_ sharp compared to normal 1080p mode where native 1080p almost looked like youtube quality at 1080p and 4k downscaled to 1080p looked like ripped BR-movie with 11Gb/2hrs .. really crisp.

After 3.2.2?
Is the video recording quality/audio when recording fixed after the 3.2.2 update? Planning on buying this phone over the upcoming note7/s7 edge. I like the touchwiz interface but not the Samsung bloatware apps like their keyboard/gear manager etc..
I shoot alot of 1080p video I don't think I will ever shoot videos at 4K
For 1080p is the OP3 video quality good enough?
Thanks guys

Hmm I disagree it just appears to be better optimised for some devices.
I wish devs gave more support in regards to changing resolution and settings for Android games... A little like the GTA games have attempted.
But thanks anyway
Hi I play it regularly and yes I can confirm it doesnt like oneplus phones. This game runs fast and smooth without any lags whatsoever on my S3. Whereas it reallllly lags on my oneplus 2. But I am happy with its performance on the oneplus 3. It works fine on the 3.

Yeah. Wished it ran at a higher frame rate. 30 seems like it's struggling which clearly isn't the case.
Cheers for the reply
it performs better in small phones but not on op3
