I have Myn's Warm RLS 5 now running on my Evo. I love the rom. Its blazing fast and does everything well EXCEPT for one thing. The DSP manager distorts the music badly when I activate the equalizer. I'm a big fan of good quality music. I feel that the DSP manager (when it works) is the best thing for the Evo since I found the stock audio to be too weak. Please help me fix this issue if possible. Is there any patch for this rom to solve this problem?
Ive found DSP manager does that no matter what the rom. Since it's doing the enhancement digitally, there is only so much it can boost before sounding distorted.

+1......I totally agree...
well when i use the dsp on the CM7 rom it didnt distort it like this. i get a crackling and popping with the most minimal of EQ settings
Developers! why haven't you included any equalizer in CyanogenMOD democracy final? Its a good rom but its battery life is poor and also even whn i have installed mega beats from CWM, i don't notice some enhancements in audio. you should have added an equalizer in it.
What more can be done with audio.
BTW i'm using Pioneer SE MJ21K headphones.
What does bravia Engine Do?
Hi, you can try DSP Equalizer which is from cm7 too (works good for me) and i just read what bravia engine does. It enhances your camera more brighter when you take picture in dark. btw i don't know if it works for gio, i haven't tried it before
i would have also preferred dsp manager since beats audio or the audio driver the rom has kills all the bass
isn't dsp manager available as a stand alone cwm flashable zip?
I am currently on CyanogenMod 10.1 with astro player and DSP. Was just wondering is there a mod like acid or franken beats that would improve the audio as at high volume the sound becomes distorted with DSP? And would it even work on 4.2.1 android? Thanks
Theres loads, cwm flashables your looking at acid audio mod and frankenbeats. Which I haven't tried.
If your rom supports it you could flash the perseus kernel and have stweaks which is a kernel specific app with audio tweaks that directly manipulate the wolfson dac in the Note 2.
Theres also the Nooz app on the play store that gives you some fantastic sound if you have a bunch of lossless files and decent headphones

Hey...Currently on Project x 3.0 (Mac-daddy rom) which does include xloud sound mod, Please..Not to sound like a wine'er, because it works wonders for my sg2 speaker volume indeed. (All hail Bilger) but Its the headphone volume that makes my ears bleed, I own a set of "skullcandy" ear-buds, which are not exactly high-end, but thier ok. Do i need to commit to high end end "headphones", instead of earphones in order to fully appreciate viperfx and the sample irs files that r available?? I know there's a a xloud removal zip, but will i be back to crappy stock volume?? I do have a paid version of voodoo louder thats been in limbo since cm10 which is compatible with agats 1.4.2. kernel. Yes...I am an Audiophile

Buy a pair of AKG Headphones. I'm a DJ and fellow audiophile..... You won't regret it.

...because of the saturated bass and the clear voice
It's a reason why i can't stay at stock with my nexus
You've got a screenshot which shows my config... (Dynamic Range is Disabled)
(Headset Virtual Room is disabled) (Bass Boost is sat at moderate) (Loudness at strongest) (Equalizer... Look at the attachment )
Don't use DSP
Do yourself a favor and pickup poweramp. I use the paid version even and it is great. Built in equalizer with a bunch of presets and you can adjust them while listening to get the best sound. You can also setup a bunch of custom presets to load based on song or if you using phone speaker or headphones. Just my opinion, I always freeze DSP with titanium backup when I load new ROM's.
I strongly recommend you to ditch DSP and install Viper4Android, which is DSP on steroid if you will.
There's a long thread about it here on XDA.
Using Viper with Poweramp and getting exceptional sound quality!

My Settings:
(Poweramp)
Tone disabled
Equalizer disabled
MusicFX enabled and mapped to Viper4Android
StereoFX disabled
(Viper)
UI Setting Expert
All settings default except:
Viper Bass Enabled
Bass mode Natural Bass, 50hz, 12db
Viper Clarity Enabled
Clarity mode XHiFi, 3.5db
From there you can adjust to your likings, I'm not even touching the equalizer, I get good natural bass and strong mids.
Worth a try!
