Hey...Currently on Project x 3.0 (Mac-daddy rom) which does include xloud sound mod, Please..Not to sound like a wine'er, because it works wonders for my sg2 speaker volume indeed. (All hail Bilger) but Its the headphone volume that makes my ears bleed, I own a set of "skullcandy" ear-buds, which are not exactly high-end, but thier ok. Do i need to commit to high end end "headphones", instead of earphones in order to fully appreciate viperfx and the sample irs files that r available?? I know there's a a xloud removal zip, but will i be back to crappy stock volume?? I do have a paid version of voodoo louder thats been in limbo since cm10 which is compatible with agats 1.4.2. kernel. Yes...I am an Audiophile

HELLO devs and noobs like me,this a mod which i extracted from the desires z forum,I extracted it because i wanted my fellow sense 3.0 user who want to feel beats audio. This addon adds BEATS AUDIO! AND SRS AND DOLBY AUDIO! Also, RCMix tweaks, which includes turning CRT on and off on the fly, WITHOUT THE ORANGE LED BUG!!! this also comes with a blue theme.

Just want to hear for myself what it's like, that's all. I've heard multiple people say that DSPmanager is way better.

With earphones DPS Manager seems better, but I find Beats to be better when using my phone via aux to listen to music in my car.

thats because youve tweeked the sound to compliment your headphones where as beats is more generic.
just read what you said... an app doesnt care what you are plugging into it so the reason you are hearing a difference is because of your hardware and nothing to do with beats
you could configure dsp manager to sound better in your car however i no longer use dsp as the eq and preamp in poweramp is far superior
you could create an eq profile for your headphones and an eq profile for your car and then you dont have to turn anything off , just switch profile
poweramp is awesome, yes it costs money but its utterly worth it if you are a fan of good sounding music (the sound reproduction is the best ive heard on my desire with sennheisers )
beats lowers midrange on eq and hightens bass and treble, exactly like megabass. its no magic trick
Hi,
I have the One X and unless you have earphone's plugged in (really nice sound and loud).
It's the external speaker that is pretty quite, is there any apps or anything I can do to make it louder.
New to Android sorry
Thanks
Graham
I thought it was loud, at least louder than DHD and Sensation,no?
Here you go the usual apps:
-Volume+ by meltus
-DSP Manager
DSP manager works better I think on Sense 4.0, just raise the treble in the equaliser.
Don't install both, it will do FC

Any luck with the apps? I find it quiet too.... Also in the car for navigation the max volume is too quiet....
Is your phone rooted or not? Not sure if it has to be to sort the volume out?
Thanks.
Yeah, external speaker of one x is lame compare to my old phone Sony arc. I tried playing the same mp3 song with them at same time both on maximum volume and really noticed the big difference.
Sent either from my Arc or One X using xda premium
Volume+ can boost it a bit (not by very much though, DSPManager will probably be a little louder on this phone). The only problem is that the speakers crackle and 'pop' after a sound is played, probably a combination of firmware and terrible quality HTC speakers.
I have noticed that something is compressing the hell out of the external speaker too (probably 'beats'), which seems to be limiting the volume.
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium
Hi,
I am using DSP manager and it has made a difference, unlike volume+ it doesn't over do it and sound like it's going to damage the speaker.
The thing that annoys me is plug headphone's in and it is so loud and a brilliant sound for a phone.
My phone is rooted but I don't think it needs to be done.
Thanks
Graham
It's not as loud as Xperia S for sure (the loudest Android phone ever) but it's louder than Sensation and Nexus 1 out of the box.
I don't have a One X yet but tried it in several shops, volume+ and DSP will surelly give the extra power to hear your phone ring in the busy streets.
Graham good to see you resolved it
Thanks, want to try dsp manager.... Is it not on the market or?
Hey folks. So I recently installed a JB ROM from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1796340
Works greats, but the only problem that is I've lost the Beats Audio driver which came with Sense 4.0 and I'd quite like it back.
I tried this one here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.motioncoding.beats&hl=en
which worked perfectly to begin with, but shortly after my system became completely unstable with apps constantly crashing, forcing me to wipe my phone and start over.
So does anyone know of a solution to this? Or am I just gonna have to wait a while for a stable release, given how new Jelly Bean is?
Thanks,
PS>If any of this sounds noobish, that would be because I actually am new to all this.

Beats Audio is prepared for Sense... And IceColdJelly is completely NonSense ROM. You have to make a decision:
1. Beats audio with any Sense ROM (Stock or Custom)
2. IceColdJelly without Beats Audio.
That's all....
If you want IceCOldJelly.... Just reflash the ROM. It will be OK, I guess.

Really? That sucks :crying: Other people seem to have had have luck on non-Sense phones, based on the reviews of the app I linked to. But in that case, I'll stick with Jelly Bean. HTC will be updating the One X eventually anyway...

flash infinity's onextram sound enhancer mod
Since Beats audio really doesn't improve anything but the bass, cant you get the same result with an eq?
Power amp app is all you need.
Use this mod linked below (be sure to make a nandroid backup before you flash it). It has beats audio and a lot of other mods as well that you can select while installing the mod.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1692233
The sound with the latest version (14) is pretty good and offers beats audio from Rezound.
Use it with a player like DoubleTwist or PowerAmp which has it's own equalizer, and you can get great audio quality on your music.
Also, System wide sound equalizers and DSP manager doesn't seem to have any effect on the sound on AOSP based ROMs.
Beats audio is effectively dynamic EQ, little more. Unlike a static EQ, it's trying to EQ based on 'beats'. At a very crude level, it's boosting certain frequencies when they are needed... e.g Bass on a musical 'beat' / peak. It's a little more complex than that - it's signal processing similar to an 'exciter'.
You can get comparable results with a decent EQ app (I use PlayerPro) although EQ in this form is static and not dynamic, but Beats Audio 'just works' for almost all apps.
It's also branded and hyped to high heaven - to make it seem like some amazing feature.
Lets us not forgets, we've had HTC trying this with SRS and Dolby too...
One final thing to remember - making something sound 'better' doesn't mean it's making it more accurate! usually it's the opposite. Most users will be playing 128K mp3 files so it's hardly surprising they feel the sound lacks a little depth.
Thanks for the replies guys. I'll try the One eXtreme Sound Enhancer tomorrow and report back after a trial run.
And yeah, I am aware that Beats Audio is nothing more than a glorified dynamic EQ that's hyped marketed up the **** to appeal to people who have no idea about music production, and who think that Mr. Dre (he's not a doctor...) can magically dip his fingers into your MP3 and enhance the production values of the original master. Like trying to tickle somebody in a photograph...But it does the job very well so I'll forgive the hype.

If you can't have it with nonsense rom, you don't need to bash the product..as far as I'm concern, Beats Audio is very good..
Me myself and I are running Android Revolution HD 6.0 with Perseus 29 kernel on my grey Note 2. With this perseus kernel you have a few audio options through sTweaks but I can't get my 24bit 96Khz FLACS sound like I would like to.. The bass keeps sounding a little woozy.. I would like to have cleaner bass and a little more detailed mids.
I am doing my listening test with 3 pairs of headphones (Stock Samsung earphones, B&W C5 in-earphones and cheapass Sehnheiser HD201 headphones)
I am using different albums for my test containing: Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon, Michael Jackson - Thriller, Kendrick Lamar - Good Kid, Beatles - Love. These albums are all 24 bits and 88.2Khz or 96khz and played with Neutron Music Player.
Mods and apps I tried:
AC!D (works but better without stweaks.. stweaks seems to overrule some stuff wich results in distortion)
Awesome Beats (doesn't seem to work on my rom and kernel)
Neutron Music Player (Fine player with some nice audiophile options but poor interface)
Sony Walkman Player (Doesn't want to install)
sTweaks (Haven't found right settings for it yet and I don't want it to interfere with AC!D)
The problem is them interfering with each other.. I think AC!D does a fine job but its interfering witch sTweaks I guess.. Still some sort of distortion.
What do you run on your Note 2 to get the purest audiophile possible sound out of it? Please also note what rom and kernel you are running not every mod is compatible with every rom or kernel.
Have you tried installing Beats audio Installer [ROOT] from the Play store it helped my sound alot make sure you make a nand backup though you cant un install it.
What rom and kernel are you running this Beats installer on?
Im using omega 8.0 rom with the acid mod installed and sony walkmann player. im only using stock headphone atm but the sound is great on them.
Ive included in the post the sony walkman app that works with my note 2 and the acid mod which needs to be flashed via cwm. If this helps please hit the thanks button.

I don;t know how you find it, but I used this for a while then uninstalled as was draining my battery too quickly. Walkman standalone fine, but not with the mod. However Beats worked well with Walkman.
In my mind there is currently no doubt which kernel has the best wolfson mod: neak. It's a combination of scoobydoo and another mod whose name escapes me.
Perhaps its bass frequency tuning will remedy some of your issues. The mids are also more pronounced when using dac direct in my opinion.
All these software mods never impressed me, no offense to anyone.

Would you please comment on the ability to control the headphone amplifier and the Media Volume independently like could be performed on the SGS with Voodoo Sound? I don't have a Note 2 yet--- one of my main purchasing decisions is based on the ability to use Scoobydoo/STweaks to control the headphone amplifier volume independently. Thanks in advance.

Yes, sort of, in neak there is a volume hack similar to the one in voodoo, which makes you able to override the channel volume, so that the end result is about the same as with voodoo.
Your situation sounds very much like mine, I came from the sgs and took a leap of faith hoping that some voodoo mod would arise at some point, and it did!

Interesting, I suppose I will have to see how development for the Verizon variant goes. Hopefully, I will be able to find a way to get Scooby/STweaks working like Voodoo. It is hard to try until I get the device, but my upgrade is at the end of the week!
Sent from my ADR6425LVW using Tapatalk 2
In case anybody cares, Perseus kernel with Stweaks allows to independently control headphone amplifier volume and media volume. It is essentially the same features as Voodoo, but without the Voodoo app. It is under the Audio section of Stweaks.
Awesome!
ok i got a pair f beats solo and they are overwellmed if i turn up the volume all the way up ... and i was able to do that by frst rooting my device and flashing UNEAK kernel it comes with wolfson audio and just go to play store and download uNEAK engine app and you will have close to pc sound out of your note 2 just make sure your headphones can handle the power your phone will put out .. like i said i got a pair of solos that cant keep up .. its time to upgrade my headphones ... power amp player is a good player too alot of otions but love the MUSIC SQUARE FEATURE ON STOCK PLAYER
The volume is too low with the stock earphone, I don't know how is it with another earphone or maybe the cause of walkman, etc...
Did anybody have the same problem?

The sony ones that came with it? for me they are ear blasting loud compaired to the Samsung ones I have.
The headphones are of great qualty but i find sony walkmans equalizer as well as sonys sound enhancements a bit lame at times.
If your about acoustics or clarity then walkman is up your alley but if your looking for grinding bass & hearing damage volumes i suggest third part app or flashing a mod or custom rom that has volume hacks included in its package.
Apollo combined with dsp equalizer is the ususal music player to be in most custom roms. I really like this player very simple an the dsp is just perfect.
For the xperia zl there are a couple sound mods that can be flashed but i have not found a significant difference in loudness when flashed. so i use jet audio. i tweak the equalizer from the app and damn is it loud. the app even gives you the option to have a 20 band equalizer plus loads more of features.
Here are the threads for sound mods . maybe you might find a difference in volume. I didnt.

Looks like u r used to louder music. So, have you tried some other headphones/earphones? I think you should, coz those which came with my Note2 were much louder than the stock ZL ones. Btw, I find the stock ones good & loud enough for my use (any louder ones give me earache) & I prefer using Walkman for music (clear audio mode).
Volume+ app will increase the volume for you.
Sent from my HTC One using xda premium
turning on the ClearAudio+ solves the problem for me.
In normal circumstances, I find the volume to be loud enough with ClearAudio turned on. But when I need head thumping, mind numbing, skull rattling bass (sound purists die!!) (i.e while running or working out), turning on the Extreme Bass in PowerAmp is the only option. But then, the volume goes very low. On the Note 2, since there was quite a headroom until the max volume was reached, it was all good. But with the ZL, no bueno :crying:
Gonna try some Samsung in-ears and see how they perform. Will report back here.

If u guys want heavier bass (than default walkman) through in ear headphones (stock or others), try this app (no root req). It, however, doesn't increase/boost the overall volume level.
