Well the SPL/Radio dosent matter on the Sapphire so just do it all through rom manager, PS Get That from the market for free
Can you give me a link for the zip files I need as well as some directions on how to update to latest cyanogen rom.
Thanks
Dude I said, download Rom Manager from the market, then flash clockworkmod recovery from rom manager, then download CM6 from the Download Rom section of rom manager
Sent from my HTC Espresso, that is apperantly a failing device using the XDA App
Thanks. One more question. After I install cm6, should I install the google apps? For some reason every time i try and install the updated google maps with the directions people have provided on the internet it seems to not work. Thanks for your patience, obviously I am new to this and am trying to learn so I don't have to ask these kind of questions anymore
Always install google apps when instaling a new version of CyanogenMod

I attempted to search the forum first, but search feature has been down for me for the last 10-15 mins.
I am rooted using unrEVOked, currently using MIUI ROM....I have a question regarding ROM Manager, I made a backup of the Stock rom before installing the MIUI rom, if I want to switch to Fresh rom, and I make a backup of the MIUI rom, can I essentially go back and forth between the 3 ROMs (stock, MIUI, Fresh) by just using the recover ROM ? Will it put back all installed apps, layout of app icons, settings etc...?
This sounds like what the program would be useful for, but I am not sure if it is that easy?
Thanks in advance! sorry if this has been answered before
Thats essentially what it is used for. I would recommend getting the Titanium back up pro also so you can have your apps between different Roms. Have fun and remember to clear caches before flashing, and NANDROID!!
Thank you for your quick response.
I have mybackup pro, so I use that to backup apps.
The nandroid/rom manager backups do not maintain apps then, correct?
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
They back up the apps on the rom itself. If you install an app on a different rom it will not transfer over to a backed up rom.
Hi is there somewhere a guide how to flash the ROMs and any list of available ROMs?
Can you advice, recommend some particular ROM?
Hi first of all you have created 2 new threads when you could of created one and asked both questions.
Im assuming that you are rooted looking at your other thread. You need to make sure you have clockworkmod recovery installed, if you haven't the easiest way to do get it is to download ROM manager from the market. Load the app and at the top it will say flash clockworkmod recovery. click on this and this will install CWM recovery for you.
ROM manager is a great tool that les you down load and install ROM's from within the app.
The ROM's available in ROM manager are as follows I'm not going to go in to to much detail, I recommend you have a good read through the dev section about the different ROM's that are available.
CyanogenMod: Is the one of the most popular ROM's available, it is pretty much stock with a few awesome tweaks.
Virtuous: A custom Sense based ROM
MIUI: a really unique ROM that looks more like the iPhone UI, some people love it offers a lot of eye candy and some cool built in features.
There are lots of other ROM's available in the DEV section.
You can download the above ROM's directly from ROM manager and install them really easily just by following the pop ups. Or you can download ROM's from the the DEV forum and place on to your sdcard. Here is a step by step guide.
1, Download your chosen ROM to your sdcard.
2, Reboot in to recovery, select this option from within ROM manager.
3, You will now be in CWM recovery, select back up and restore then backup, this is really important and you should do this before flashing anything. it will enable you to restore you phone to a previous problem free state if you ever mess anything up.
4, Select wipe data, you should do this whenever flashing different types of rom, for example if you are running MIUI and want to switch to virtuous you need to wipe data.
5, Wipe cache, all ways do this regardless of what you are flashing.
6, Head to advance, and wipe dalvik cache.
7, Now time to flash your ROM,
8, Select install zip from sdcard.
9, choose zip from sdcard
10, Navigate to your ROM and select it for flashing.
11, Once complete reboot your phone and you should be running a custom ROM.
It will be worth investing in an app such as titanium backup, this will allow you to back up all your apps and settings, when you install a ROM for the first time and you have to wipe data you will lose everything you have installed and all you settings, Titanium Backup will allow you to restore your apps and setting once you installed a new ROM.
If you want a recommendation for a ROM my personal preference is CM7.
With regards to your other thread, don't worry to much about not having a back up there are guides available for unrooting and going back to stock if you ever need to, not that you will want to after trying custom ROM's
Hope this helps, good luck
Thanks a lot for your reply ,this is exactly what I was looking for now a little calm down
Ok I have tried to flashed clockworkmod recovery and the following issue notification appeared:

Do you have superuser installed?
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA App
Yes i have it .
Ok while I wanted to update superuser I've received notification: file package was not correctly signed.
So I think I don't have maybe a root, but I was proceeding exactly according to the guide...
How can I solve it in the best way?:/
Ok it seems that problem with flashing clockworkmod recovery solved by itself, I've flashed it already but still I am curious what about problem mentioned above?

I have just done it, it works pretty well.
Superuser still the same problem. However maybe I forget to mention it but I've already installed it. It was installed automatically during I was rooting my phone using adb command. Now I just wanted to update it and the problem appears as I described in one of the previous posts herein.
Maybe it is not necessary to update it but I am curious why this problem occurs.

You have helped already sufficiently a lot.
Now I ma trying to flash the ROM and as the first one I've chosen CM7
Before I'll do it pls confirm if I'm thinking the right way.
First I'll do backup all my apps (also titanium, Superuser and Rom manager need it? I suppose Yes, or somehow they backup automatically?) Maybe better question is what should be backuped, I am asking because on the list in titanium there are also apps like clock which are delivered with the software. You know after flashing a new Rom and restoring all aps I'd like to avoid overwriting them by the backuped ones.
The second is after apps backup I need to move created file from my phone into my PC,right? The same after system backup by clockworkmod recovery?

With titanium you just want to back up user apps and data (apps you have downloaded and installed). You can choose to back up system apps but you don't want to restore them after flashing the new rom.
You don't need to copy back up files to your pc, your memory card will not get wiped during the flashing process.

I thought (that's probably why I'm here) that installing a rom with add-ons in Rom Manager, if I checked the box next to the add on it installed them for me...? I was wrong I take it? But I can't find any of the add ons I checked? Anyone got some instructions for me?

A lot of people here don't use rom manager. I can suggest flashing the addons u want via recovery to get what u want. Its pretty much manually doing what rom manager does. Ull find the addons for each different rom in their respective threads in the dev section
I started off using ROM manager after I first rooted. After one update of CM, the gapps package didn't download correctly, and I had to figure out how to flash manually. After doing so, and reading about some problems with CWM that Amon Ra didn't have, I changed to AR and stopped using ROM manager completely. It is easier to just flash things manually
I have a HTC EVO and I have root access on it now. There is a update available which is the gingerbread update. Can I use that gingerbreak apk file to regain root if I take that gingerbread update?? Thanks..
RE: root
You can root GB with revolutionary.io. I did two EVO 4Gs earlier today without problem. I'd recommend flashing a stock-ish Gingerbread ROM that's already rooted, though, like SprintLovers.
Here's the easiest way: Install ROM Manager from the app market and buy the premium upgrade. Using premium, you can download and install custom ROMs pretty damn easily. I also recommend using ROM Manager to back up the current ROM (to make it super easy to restore if you have a problem), then using Titanium Backup (free in the market) to backup all your apps. Then install the new ROM and wipe everything (check the two bottom choices in ROM Manager when you choose the ROM to install). After your new ROM is installed, re-install Titanium from the market and restore all your apps and their settings.

IF you are refering from one of "Haus" Roms, you can't go wrong that is one of "Regonized Dev's" On XDA. But if you type what your looking for in the search bar, you will have your answer to any device, rom, files, XDA recommends us to a "Full Search" before starting a Thread.
Good luck and I know as I did when first started its exciting!
Your answer on Odexed & De-Odexed find it here from a great source for answers,
