Hello I haven't undrestand something about s-off .
My desire is s-off with Hboot 0.93.0001 do i have to do something to go to cm7r2 or I am ok as it is (since it is s-off)?
Well you are okay as it is but if you wanna get more space for your apps then you may wanna go with cm7r2 so that your partiton allocation of your phone's internal memory is changed and used more efficiently.
Details on how to get cm7r2 is on alpharev.nl

Also, bear in mind that with CM7r2 hboot, you will have to download a Rom compatible with CM7r2. The stock Rom or any roms that requires more than 145mb on the system partition will not be compatible and will cause the phone to bootloop.

Little correction: If one flashes a rom which doesn't not fit in /system, one will stuck at splash screen and not in a bootloop.
maximum cm7r2 partition
Hi - i want to Flash the Runnymede 4.0.3. does it only support a max. 2gb partition? cause when i make a 4gb partition it doesnt work with ap2sdx
Please read the requirements in the rom's thread. Also search the thread. Then all your questions should be answered.

This happened to me when I was trying to install Runnymede (and I wanted the A2SD+, for which I believe you need CM7r2). I was running stock ROM and couldn't get back into it to run 4ext.
Does that mean I was doing it in the wrong order? Do I need to run 4ext first to prepare everything, then flash the hboot, then flash the ROM from recovery?

Yes. CM7r2 is too small for the stock rom to be used. And you can reboot into 4ext by pressing the volume down and power button at the same time, navigate to recovery with the volume button and confirm selection with power button. There just wipe everything and flash your rom.

Hey guys,
I have a question.
I do have an HTC Desire with Oxygen Gingerbread ROM 2.0 RC7 with Alpharev (S-OFF) + ext4 (@~750mb) + Amon (or how ever it is called, don't remember it exactly) recovery.
Is it possible to flash a different rom ? (is there some constraint about alpharev?) and do i have to setup ext3/4 again then?
You don't need to change anything on the ext partition, just do a full wipe. Did you change hboot or only s-off. If you changed it make sure your next rom will fit on the system partition if you only s-offed you can flash everything.

so... how do i check if i have changed HBOOT? i just ran through the whole alpharev - procedure .
Sorry I am kind of new, just rooted a few days ago.
It sounds like you haven't changed your HBOOT at all, you're just s-off for now. To change the HBOOT table you would have had to download one of the files (eg. Oxygen table, N1 table, data++ table, etc.) then flash that via Fastboot.
ok so it's fine and i can flash every rom i want? (for sure with nandroid backup before doing so)
Yes, you can flash any ROM you like.

Haha, no kidding!
We need more info than that. Did you perform a full wipe before install?
one more question... if i flash a new rom (after full wipe) do i have to reformat the SD again to ext4 and so on?
No.

Hello everybody, i have a question for you all.. My problem: I have a s-off Desire with Alpharev CM7, CWM Recovery 4.0.0.5 and latest radio on it. I have tried to install many, MANY roms, but all, except 2, have the same problem.. After installation from the recovery, i only see the joker face from Alpharev, and nothing more. AceSMod007, RcMixHD, VillainRom and many more.. The only 2 exceptions are MIUI, that comes to its own bootscreen, but looping and no boot, and CyanogenMod, that works great. Why that? I have tried to install Hboot Sense, Hboot stock, but nothing.. Anyone should help me please? Many thanks, regards
have you partioned you sd, if not make an ext partition of 1GB with Gparted
If you are using cm7 hboot try upgrading to cm7r2 hboot from alpharev.nl as the roms mentioned require it.

Yes both with ext3 (by cmw) and ext4.. hboot r2 but others too
Are you doing a full wipe before flashing the rom? This is needed when switching roms.
Only use cm7 hboot if your using cm7 or a rom that was designed to use that hboot. Otherwise stick with stock unless specifically required by the new rom untill you got it working.
If not maybe your recovery is messed up, try a different version.
Back up your sd and use 4EXT recovery to start from strach. Create aligned partitions with this recovery. Mostly, the boot loops happen when hboot is too small for the rom or ext partition(s) is broken or not aligned. Also you can fix your partition with e2fsck.
Try InsertCoin CM7, and do everything what is said above, should be fine then

maybe that is.. I have installed alpharev stock hboot and reflashed original RUU, tomorrow i will try to root my phone again..
PS. with others Alpharev hboot, RUU won't upload, so, if you need to flash a RUU, is important that you install STOCK ALPHABOOT
Hi all!
I'm a little noobish on Android and customizing it, but I've been playing around and I've been trying to install Sense 3.0 Roms like:
Cool3D RunnyMede v2
Cool3D AceS v3
Aurora v03
Aced Off!
PyramidMod007
And every time when I try to install them I would get stuck at the HTC Splash screen(quietly brilliant); it would just constantly reboot that screen for some reason. I've tried letting it sit for 30 minutes but nothing happened
Here's what I have on my phone:
Revolutionary CWM
Bravo PVT1 SHIP S-OFF
HBOOT-6.93.1002
MICROP-031d
TOUCH PANEL-SYNT0101
RADIO-5.17.05.23
And my installing procedure is:
1. Backup current nandroid
2. Delete cache, delete user data, delete dalvik cache
3. Install ROM
4. Install the rom converter CM7 --> HBoot.zip
5. Install Dalvik cache to ext. zip file
6. Reboot
I've actually tried installing them on CM7 too, but I reverted back to HBoot because my current rom requires Stock hboot.
Any help would be awesome! Thanks!
Try installing one at a time, rebooting between each one.
That's very weird something u are doing wrong for sure but can't understand what from what u wrote because there is no way that roms with sense 2.1 works and others with 3 no... It's impossible

What I did was backup and install one rom at a time, and when it doesn't work I revert back to my original rom, then I would try installing another one hours after or something, and I just repeated the process. I didn't install one on top of another.
@ halaros2
I was just actually trying to install other roms. I'm not sure what you mean by that 2.1 doesn't work with 3.0?
Thanks for the replies!
Are you rebooting after installing the rom?.....or are you installing rom, then Hboot, then Dalvik zip?
You need an ext partition on your SD card, do you not read the requirements before flashing?

Maybe add one more step before (3)
2.5. Install Hboot CM7/r2
Then replace step 4 with a reboot, making sure the rom works first, then following by installing any mod. When installing mod, also clear dalvik cache before and after

Sad to hear that.
Maybe check following things :
1) On Hboot screen, does it show CM7 r2 - S-OFF, once you sure about that, can ignore any hboot installation later, it is because of other problem
2) Does it get to the 2nd stage of the boot i.e. showing "quite brilliant" ? if yes... should be booting to your rom soon, so wait !
3) Boot to recovery, mount sd-card to usb, and use gparted to check if you ext is there, 1GB and it's ext4, the other should be FAT32
- or you can remake it by using the partition sdcard on the recovery, and use gparted to convert it to ext4
This is really strange, you must be doing something wrong but I just can't work out what haha

1) Should I check the CM7/r2 screen on the Bootloader after installing the cm7/r2 to HBoot converter.zip file? I just did that and my boot loader still shows HBoot. And Yes it says S-OFF.
2) When I first boot up after installing the rom, the "quietly brilliant" screen reboots, so it would load HTC quietly brilliant, then do that over and over again. Am I supposed to wait there?
3) I created the partition with a partition wizard, and I double checked that I have an ext 4 partition on my mac.
1) which ROM are you trying to install ? If it's cool3d or aurora, just install the CM7r2, don't install the converter whatsover, once you get it done you will see CM7r2 in pink at your hboot screen. if you don't know what you're having, just download the new one here http://alpharev.nl/
2) Something went wrong... probably hboot
3) OK

Attempt #94820
I just tried to install cool3D without flashing the converter, I went to my boot loader, it's showing AlphaRev in pink then:
Bravo PVT1 SHIP S-OFF
HBOOT-6.93.1002
Did I do something wrong again?
Last attempt of mine...
Is it "Alpharev CM7 r2" ? If not, install it by downloading the flasher ultilities
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=794638
Flash the hboot with the tool using the bravo CM7 r2 image from Alpharev website http://alpharev.nl/bravo_alphaspl-cm7r2.img
If you sure it's already CM7r2, then you can go on try AURORA or COOl3D ( dun install the D2EXT version , you will need another hBoot). If still cannot, I suggest you replace your SDCARD and try again.

Actually for cool's roms, you can remain on stock hboot. All you do is flash stock_users.zip after the Rom. Although it is better to be on CM7r2 as it gives more space for apps.

and I just cleared my data, cache and dalvik cache and installed the Cool3D rom, still stuck at the quietly brilliant thing again constant reboot of that screen

EDIT2: I recreated the partition, everything is working great now! thanks for the help!
I recently rooted my desire with unrevoked. I have cwm 5.0.2.0 recovery, but I can't seem to make custom roms work. I first tried to flash the 3.5 htc sense Cool Sense rom, but it got stuck after the boot image. Then I tried Leeroid and Cyanogenmod, but they both entered bootloops. Before I started the flashing, I updated my radio from 5.11.05.27 to 5.17.05.23, but I didn't update the ril. Could it have anything to do with that?
Or could it be the hboot? I don't know much about it, but its version 93.0001, and because I s-offed my phone with revolutionary, it says "AlfaRev Revolutionary" on top. Do I have to flash a custom hboot?
Or do all these roms need sd card partitioning? I did a 2gb partition with cwm recovery, but I don't think it worked.
By the way:
Htc desire GSM
Hboot 93.0001
Cwm 5.0.2.0 recovery
Stock 2.2 android rom
Baseband 5.17.05.23

Hi,
I have similar problem. I rooted it with Unrevoked and s-offed it using the alpharev utility. Only roms I was able to flash were the Oxygen 2.3.2 and CyandroigenMod 7. When I tried other roms it just stuck on the alpharev splash screen, I left it like that for couple hours like that but nothing was happening...and I had the proper hboot image flashed that was required for the roms.
Do you have any advice what should I do?
Thanks.
I am not an expert, but somewhere I read that the recovery cwm 5.xx has some problem. Try the 4Ext recovery that is based on cwm and for me works efficiently.
Another question, you speak about Oxigen and Cyano, both use modified table partition. Have you changed the partition table and downloaded the right rom version for that table?
Just so you know, Oxygen and Cyanogenmod roms will work even on stock hboot and doesn't require EXT partition for it to install and run on your phone.. You'll have issues with the memory for your apps though and that's what the custom partition table and EXT partition and a2sd, data2sd etc. scripts are for.
On the other hand, some ROMs (Sense based roms most of the time) REQUIRE that you have an EXT partition on your SD for it to install and work properly. Check the rom thread and read the requirements!
As for creating ext partitions on your sdcard, I recommend using 4EXT Recovery or alternatively Gparted on your desktop computer.
This would only be true if Clockworkmod was updated to V.5.x. If I'm not mistaken, alpharev's s-off method puts in his own modified version of clockworkmod. I'm not sure if his version is based on V.5.x ...

did you do a full wipe/factory reset from the recovery before flashing the custom roms ??
Thanks guys for your help. The problem was that I didn't have the sd-ext partition, so I created it and now it works

i can't install any rom using AlphaRev CM7 r2 .. (
is ext4 partition not corrupted? check it in 4ext recovery... for Seb's rom nearly all important files are there
you a) don't have an sd-ext partiton
b) aren't giving the ROM enough time to boot. Sense ROMs take about 10 minutes the first time, they aren't virgins.
Also, I assume you did do a full wipe before flashing?

In the aroma setup, what option did ya choose: basic or customize? You have to choose customize setup so that you can choose the right 1 for your hboot, A2SD, IN2SD+S and so on. Im using runnymede aio v6.1.1 s/e IN2SD+S and im using alpharev data++, 1gb ext4 (no swap) and works fine. Try full wipe, and repartition sd card to 1gb ext4 and try the rom again
