I was just literally about to create a post with that question
But yes, I've been wondering if there will be any Sense rom for Galaxy Nexus too?
I'm coming from Desire and I'm gunna miss this sense feeling, and I haven't been seeing that many sense rome for nexus s?

the only time i used sense was on the htc diamond. hated it.

Since it's a stock android device (the whole point of the nexus series), it will not have sense. The only way I could think of is if someone specifically made a sense ROM for it.

is this the twilight zone?

Bizarro World
Naw, somebody may make one once HTC puts out their version of Sense over ICS I would guess.

I sense that sense wont be available on a non sense device like the sgn and that it is non sense to get a sense that it will.
I invented cyberspace. You're trespassing.

I'm sure there will be at least one DEV who will cook up a sense rom for the Nexus. I'm excited for this phone because of all the DEV's, not so much that it's stock, but that's a plus.

Buy an HTC edge in Q1/Q2. Specs wise it'll spank the Galaxy Nexus, except that it'll be burdened down with the Sense overlay.

Buy an htc phone for sense. We dont want that crappy launcher lol

rumor has that it's not going to be a Verizon phone. Also it's very likely the Q1 Q2 date will be pushed back, not to mention that is still a very long wait, and battery life could be atrocious.

I was wondering when this would be asked, but I expected it sooner.
Is there any non-HTC device forum where this question has not been asked (jet)? One of there first questions in new HTC device forums is "will it be possible te remove sense"?
I wouldn't expect Sense for the Nexus Prime any time soon (actualy, I wouldn't use it all if I were you). It has already heen said, but the Nexus line is all about the nice and clean Google experience.

Why is this thread both here and in the general forum?

for some of you flammin HTC it's one of the best interfaces for the android,
yes ICS (Ice Cream Sandwich) may have a simple interface, but it's plain and boring. HTC Sense give a nice fluid overlay. Show me something better than Sense that can compete with look and feel? And most of you I doubt have used the latest version of sense, yea the old verisons needed some help, but the latest ones are pretty nice

Why would you want that bloated overrated piece of **** on the galaxy nexus?

i just want to know if it's possible, because we can port android to an iphone, but an iOS to a desire is it possible ??
THX for yours answers.
IMPOSSIBLE!!!
Or maybe...??? You should simply post the iOS source code in here. There will be some dev's to create a rom!

Porting iOS to Desire is however stupid.

Get an iPhone. Or just flash MIUI, so much better. (I have an iPod Touch 4G to fap on when it comes to smooth interfaces. But I love my Desire. Even more if it'd stop rebooting randomly when it heats up.)

how do i get ice cream

hello how do i download ice cream, will i get it from the marketplace?
If it supports your phone, it will be an over the air update when its released sometime next month.
Sent from my Nexus S 4G using Tapatalk
You can buy at a stand
But Desire won't get any updates, only custom ROM (hopefully).
You probably own an HTC Desire since you posted this question here... then you'll have to wait just like the rest of us for our awesome developers to port the ROM over.
We are not gonna get any over the air update since HTC ended their support for our device already.

Well it released Feb last year, but I agree that HTC really messed up with the Gingerbread update, Desire owners deserved that one done properly.
As for ICS, can't really expect HTC to support the Desire that far... it'd be the third major update.

Because it wasn't released as a normal, OTA update. Instead, HTC released a very late, buggy version via their website, and so your average desire owner probably doesn't even know a GB update exists.
That's because with OTA they couldn't delete content from system. And it ain't more buggy than FroYo, in fact it's less buggy than FroYo.

Sure, it's less buggy than froyo, but you would expect that, really. Some of the bugs that I really thought would be addressed were still present.
And you can't deny that when a manufacturer releases an update that has warnings and disclaimers on it, it hasn't been done quite as smoothly as Samsung/Apple.
Because of memory constraints (duh!).
No chance of ics on HTC desire unless ported thru custom Rom
If HTC will remove gapps, then it will be easily possible, even if with old Sense.
Rooted and get an custom ROM will give you ice cream earlier. Forget HTC.
Doubt very much if we will see ICS on Desire...
ICS is optimised for dual-core and also features virtual keys. There is already speculation on the Sensation boards whether they will see the update, due that device using soft keys.
I imagine HTC will tweak ICS to run on Sensation, but can't see them adapting to Desire. Too many deficiencies to be addressed.
Hoping our awesome devs will be able to at least port various bits and pieces from Android 4.0 for us to enjoy, though!!

Well we will probably, just that we won't see it from HTC as they dropped support for Desire.
Because ICS will essentially work with any phones that can run Gingerbread (not just dual-core). And apparently ICS checks if your device have hardware keys or not, if there is, they will not display the virtual keys. And i can't really see Google being so stupid to only restrict ICS to phones without hardware keys as there are essentially no other phones besides the galaxy nexus that do not have hardware keys.
Also, we already have a port of ICS SDK, here. Its not usable or perfect, but at least it proves that the Desire can run ICS.

What will your next phone be?

The desire is a great phone, phenomenal back when it came out, but it is nearing 2 years old and will likely never see an official update again.
I personally will be waiting for a good flagship quad core phone. This looks tempting if it's real :
http://www.engadget.com/2011/11/15/htc-rezound-review/
but we'll see when 2012 comes around.
What, previous thread isn't good enough for you?
Galaxy s4, 2013 htc flagship or iphone
Probably HAL 9000

It will be the first HTC GSM smartphone with a 720p screen available.
My guess is it'll be SGS2 ..pricing on that one is great considering the hardware! The ROMS are getting pretty solid aswell
Sent from my HTC Runnymede
Depends on the price, but HTC SensXL or SGS II.
The Desire is already my 'plaything', my daily driver is an Atrix... It's quite likely that my next phone will be the rumored HTC Edge, I just miss the build quality, and the dev community HTC phones seem to attract. But HTC seem to like only making powerful phones which are massive nowadays so although having played with a Sensation more now and liking the size a bit more I might rethink that depending on what it looks like at release (4.7" screen?!)

The rumoured HTC Zeta or HTC Edge.
Google that !!!

HTC Sense-based one, because of reach user experience, because of lack of it in pure google staff. Galaxy Nexus has a hw bug now with GSM900 networks, hope google recalled buggy phones and repair this POS.
I'm looking for the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, but are tempted to await some quad-core phone.
Probably the nexus prime, when it comes down in price.
Loving Htc Sense so my next phone will again be a Htc one.
But I will wait till 2013 i think.
I would choose htc again if they change their update policy... no updates no htc..

Ice-Cream Sandwich for Wildfire...? (or am I dreaming in technicolor)

I remember hearing a while back that one of Google's goals when designing 4.0 would be to make it compatible with all Android devices. I'm not sure if they meant all of them that ever was, or if they just meant both recent smartphones and recent tablets...
I'm starting to suspect that it's probably the later since even the higher-end devices seem like they will be forced to wait a long time before they get ICS. Still, I'd like to remain hopeful, is there any indications that the Wildfires will get ICS?
Look what it may look like:

Ha we wouldn't even get ICS because "DHD can't run ICS" or "sense 3.0 is the best setup for DHD"

That would be quite interesting if it would be true. But keeping in mind what happened before it's totally not worth looking forward to this. Neither the source is confirmed/reliable...
Very, very unlikely since we were skipped by the ICS update, and other manufacturers are dropping their dual core phones...
This was most probably a typo.
And since most of us on XDA are already rooted, I would definitely go with a mooded JB anyway
would be a dream we hope. :good:

They didnt say it cant run ics, they recognised it could but it woukd mean a full wipe because if partitioning size. And keeping the customers data integrity intact comes before everything else. The desire x - not sure - then the hd is a type or the whole things fabricated. Somebodys having a laugh. Still hoping for the ics update on htcdev, if that does come it really will be the last.
True I believe it when I see it, and with HTC we will never see it.
think so im running a 4.2.2 atm its not great but its a custom rom it doesnt lag that much but it doesnt have google services which is a downside to this one...

We don't know yet, since it's not out yet, so we don't know what it entails.
First time I've read it I thought about a pure android 4.2 versión without sense ...
I think that 5.0 will be not much more heavier than 4.2
