Hey guys,
Got my hands on the SGP Ultra Oleophobic screenshield from SGP, which they make for a variety of different devices. This is an oil resistant screenshield, which unlike the Ultra Optics, does not affect screen quality at all, but isn't as resistant from fingerprints / glare as the Optics. Overall I'm really pleased with the final product, you can find the full review below:
Yep i have this on my phone too and it is very good, ive never had any problems.

how long are you using it now?
How does this compare to the crystal version?
Also would this or the optic (anti finger) be better? For both clarity and finger prints

The crystal version has a more similar feeling to the naked glass, whereas this one is smoother, which some may or may not be a good thing.
Crystal version is for someone who wants to protect their screen without affecting quality or texture, but you'll still get fingerprints.
I still prefer the Optics since it helps with glare as well.
Better for clarity: oleophobic
Better against fingerprints: optics
Hope I helped!

Thanks, but if you compare clarity from optics to oleophobic how bad is the optics? I don't mind fingerprints but having to constantly wipe and having the edges of the screen build up dirt/oil/prints is really ugly to clean. I'm sure it'll ruin the rubber/silicon case that I'll be using (sgp neo hybrid or ex).

The oleophobic is close to 100% clarity for me, really hard to tell if it affects quality whatsoever, seems to be super clear.
The ultra optics is probably 90% clear, you can definitely tell there is something on it but viewing the screen is fine, not uncomfortable.
Like I said before, I'd still choose the ultra optics over anything else because of the benefits against fingerprints and dirt, I can live with a little screen degradation.

Since July, you would hardly even notice you had a screen protector on either, well worth the money.

Completely agree. Although I prefer the Ultra optics, the Oleophobic is still a great option.
I have the Ultra oleophobic and it was great at first but after a couple months, i start to see a lot of smudges, fingerprints and oil on the screen. So it's not really holding it up for me.
Now I'm just looking at the other ones.. What's the difference really between Ultra Optics and Ultra Fine? I'm looking for one that is good or at least decent on fingerprints and the best clarity. Which one is better? It just makes it seem confusing since both are matte style with antiglare/anti-fingerprint properties but they are two different products!

The Ultra Fine is what is known as a classic anti-fingerprint protector, it severely affects screen quality but does the best job at preventing smudges and glare.
The Ultra optics has better screen clarity, so there is not as much loss of quality, and while it does a good job at preventing smudges, it is not as good as the Ultra Fine.
Re: The Crystal version as mentioned earlier in the thread; I couldn't get rid of it fast enough, it seemed to magnify fingerprints. That said, when it was clean and untouched it was "invisible". Touch sensitivity was affected as well, not as good as no protector obviously, but paled in comparison to the Ultra Optics which was unexpected.

I haven't tried an Ultra Crystal in over a year now, back on the iPhone - I too was disappointed that the fingerprints were so noticeable.

Does anyone have this. I am currently looking to get a better screen protector than the one that I got from verizon and this looks like a good option.
So does anyone have any experience with this type of screen protector and any pros and cons about it?
Assuming you're getting this for anti-fingerprint purposes, the SGP Ultra fine will do you wonders. It does prevent fingerprints from getting on to the screen. However, it slightly compromises the display a little. You will see little artifacts from the light of the display going through the screen protector, since there are layers in there used for the anti-fingerprint.
Don't get this if you want ultra clear display, or if you don't care much about having fingerprints. If you want ultra clear, try their Ultra Crystal Clear.
I've been using it so far for about 2 weeks.. Amazing for anti-fingerprint purposes..
One of the best screen protectors I have ever had..
Definitely recommended..
I've had the ultra fine for about a week and so far it's great. The clarity of the screen is definitely compromised, but you don't notice it after a bit. One of the best things is your fingers don't drag/catch like they can on naked glass or crystal style protectors. It just sort of glides across the surface.
what do you guys think about the anti-glare on this screen protector?
I have ultra fine and i like it, but there is alot of glare outdoors, but it does its job, i see no fingerprints on the screen.
as Purgatoiry said you definitely slide across the screen with this screen guard.

huh, it is supposed to be anti glare...
Dunno what to say, because of the matte finish, when the sun is on it its hard to see.
just my 2c of course, and even with the glare, i still wont use any other screen protector.
Wouldn't use anything besides a Steinheil.

I had one of the earlier anti-fingerprint protectors on my incredible and I noticed the same thing. I think the problem is that the sunlight gets diffused in the screen which makes it hard to see through the glare.
Is the Crystal Clear smooth like the anti print one?

Crystal Clear is like glass. It's probably the best option if you want to protect your screen but want to make it feel like nothing is there. I have one on mine and people, who play with my phone, don't realize there's a protector on it until they see the seam for the protector.
I hear alot of good things about SGP and was wondering which choice will give me the following in order of importance.
1. smooth surface for easy finger gliding
2. Thin material
3. Non-matte screen
4. anti smudge
Thanks guys, im confused with all the options

Crystal one meets all your needs plus some. Smooth like glass to the touch. Make sure you have a TRUE dust free area to install it.

Cool thanks for the tip. Does anyone know if its possible to get the whole body protection, but with a crystal screen protector? I don't see that option
The crystal clear works really well for my SGSI, almost smudge free though someone with really sharp fingernails--I think--managed to scratch the top right corner of the SP. The same protector on my SGSII seems to attract a lot more smudges, for some strange reasons. But I've tried enough protectors with the SGSI to stick to the crystal clear. To me, it has the best balance between clarity, viewing angles and protection.

yes..it has the smooth touch feeling 100%.no other protector has this .
.screen looks like there is no protector on..the sp name is correct..
very easy to install..
other sgp protectors are better only on fingerprints and smudges(but even on that the crystal clear is fine..much better than other clear protectors
where can we find this crystal one?
edit: you probably talking about this one: http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/sgp-ultra-crystal-screen-protector-for-samsung-galaxy-s2-p30581.htm
Buy it straight from their web site:

My oleophobic one arrived this friday. Packaged very well. The shipping was quick. Took 12 days and thats coming through south african customs which can be a real *****
so how is the feeling of the protector? Does it slow down the touch operation?
you propose the oleophobic one? not the crystal?
I have the ultra crystal, a great screen protector, and pretty easy to put on.
It gets smudged a lot more than the screen without it on, but the feel is still good.
My keys ran across the screen, and left what looked like a scratch, I panicked, then just wiped it off, so far so good!
Doesn't seem anyone got the full body protection?

Ultra optics get dirty after a few weeks, and are hard to clean. They also make a zip sound when you run your finger on it.
See my thread here for the Ultra Crystal (aka "Crystal Clear" -- I assume) SP from SGP: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1219115#
I am awaiting for its arrival tomorrow, but it seems to be the best if you want: clarity & protection (thickest of all the SGP SPs). However, from the reviews, it tends to be a fingerprint magnet.

I've used the Crystal,Oleo,Optics and Ultra Matte.
My favorite is the Oleo since its super clear but has absolutely no smudge protection, the Optics also offers a midway smudge protection with a tad bit blurring.
The Crystal is a smudge and glare magnet while the Ultra Matte is just blurry hell but has no smudges.
I have a UO one right now on my Note, but I am unhappy about the cutting. There's a gap at the top above the speakerphone. I don't remember SGP being this sloppy.

Quality's great, although it is hard to clean. No way to use a dry cloth for this, gotta be slightly damp.

I've had the matte SGP screen, it was terrible. It caused the screen to be a little bit blurry, gave me a bit of eye strain, and ruins the beauty of the LED screen. I now have the glossy one, it is great.

I have used The Ultra Crystal, but I needed to clean it for oil too often, so I stopped use it. The Utra Oleophobic is said to prevent oil, but I havn't tried it, but I would go for The Oleophobic.
And as @chiefroastbeef said, the matte screen shields just ruin the beauty of the LED screen, I have used it so I know.
I've tried Ultra Crystal and Ultra Optics.
Of the two Ultra Optics is by far the best. Ultra Crystal made me want to kill myself after a day of use, it magnifies fingerprints and smudges through the miracles of modern science. I used it for ~18 hours before I decided no screen protector was a better option. When clean it looked amazing and was indeed crystal clear. Ultra Optics isn't as crystal clear, even when clean, but does a much better job of hiding unsightly smudges and fingerprints.
Tried all of them.
My ranks (best->worst)
1. Ultra Crystal - For 'Videophiles', people who want to enjoy the magnificent picture quality, contrast, sharpness and vivid colors of the AMOLED screen.
2. Ultra Oleophobic - Better protection against oil stains and stuff, Clear enough, but the touch isn't as smooth as Ultra Crystal.
3. Ultra Optics - Nice, smooth touch and figerprint durability, but reduces the image quality, creates a bit of 'grain'.
4. Anti-Fingerprint - ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE. if you like the smooth touch and the velour-like surface - buy the Ultra Optics, the AF makes the AMOLED screen look like 65K colors(or less) LCD.
Thank you all the above.
I think I will still use crystal .
But the main disadvantage is the oil is easily stick on the screen

The oddest thing about this is where I get mine as it is completely against the grain for me. When I got my galaxy s4 I also got screen protectors supposedly of the best quality according to reviews and a case (Spigen slim armor). The picture degradation was very noticeable though even though the reviews said otherwise.
The problem is I fix, upgrade, build computers, networks, sound systems (household wide generally), in the commercial and retail market. I have found that not having protection on a smartphone in the filed is a very bad idea so I always do. Anyway with the screen degradation and not having time to wait I ran to the mall as one of the kiosks I had seen there has great screen protectors and I knew they were exceptionally clear because I had seen them do a few when I took my teenage daughter up there (it is right outside a place she had gotten clothes from with birthday money) shopping once.
I had to have it quickly so it was the best option. They cost $25.00 which is why I did not go there in the first place.
However; the reason I am both glad I used this solution and will in the future is simple. They guarantee them for the life of the phone. When you have it done they register you and your phone completely. If you do get it scratched up key gouged etc (which I did do once) all you have to do is take it back and they replace it free.
They also use military grade and crystal clear screen guards which have the best picture compared that I have seen. The kicker is the combo though of great protectors that are completely clear along with the lifetime replacement. Not having to worry about getting the protector on slightly crooked and or install it yourself at all is also nice the protectors are also hard super strong glass substrates which are super strong.

Hey guys,
Got my hands on the SGP Ultra Nano Optics screenshield that a lot of you have been asking about. This is an anti-fingerprint & anti-glare screenshield that features a similar form factor to the Nano Clear, but with a different coating. Like the Nano Clear, it is super easy to install but the anti-fingerprint coating serves to make fingerprints and smudges much harder to show.
In this video I've also compared the Flex HD, Ultra Clear and Ultra Optics in a detailed manner based on pricing, protection, clarity, etc - that way you guys can see which one fits you best.
Check out the full review & comparison below;
Thanks for the review, it was well done. :good:
I see the "Optics" is marked more towards anti-fingerprint properties.
Would this mean the "Clear" is a fingerprint magnet?
Do you think the Clear is better or worse than the bare-screen when it comes to resisting figerprints?
I'd like to go with the Optics, but I really want the 100% clarity.

The Clear isn't a fingerprint magnet by any means but it certainly doesn't help combat against them. That is a tough question since they both show nearly the same amount of fingerprinting but I think the bare-screen is a bit better for whatever reason. I used the Nano Clear for a little over a week and didn't have too many issues with extreme fingerprinting, though.
